There are as many as 14 NLUs with at least 50% domicile reservation. The only NLU with no domicile reservation is (as we all know) is NLU Delhi.

Start with picking up basic drafts of SHA, SPA, SSA etc. Try and understand the meaning of the terms used therein. they are all relatively easy considering attrition, This isn't judgement cause you have still got an internship at trilegal which is not a small feat but please think twice about their funds team, people resigning in 2 days and near 100% attrition of freshers does not happen because of a small reason and if you think you are desperate for a job and will hack it out, well a lot of people who left thought of the same thing, its better to be unemployed or at a lower end firm as a fresh graduate then fired and laid off or resigning weeks into your first job, that is worse.

Bhai I'm tired of saying this on every post/comment about foreign firms but as someone with a top 5 rank from a T1 NLU, foreign firms don't just take you if you have that + participation certificates. You need to have WON or come runners-up in international moots/ADRs if you're applying directly. If they come to your campus like Linklaters comes to a few of our colleges for its Singapore office, that's a slightly different story

You'll get to work on amazing deals at both Nandish and Vikram, but Nadish and Vaidhya are heavy hitters.

If you are from a t1 and negotiate well, you'll end up making the most money with Vikram taking into account the bill share in that team

As I said the admin and VC have absolutely destroyed it's reputation to the ground. It's the second oldest NLU and a great replacement for people who didn't want to go South, or wanted to be in a hindi speaking locality. Yet they couldn't capitalise, and the only reason it was a tier 1 was cause it's the 2nd oldest. Before NLUD, it wasn't even the top 5 choice..NLS, NALSAR, NUJS, NLUJ and GNLU.

Vaidhya and Nandish's team is very chill. Good exposure on marquee deals. They have big PEs and conglomerates as clients. People are usually staffed on atleast 2-3 deals at a time. WFH one day a week. Work pressure is cyclical. Generally, people work from 10:30 to 7:30-8:30. However, during closing there can be 2-3 all nighters. It is the only team which has shielded itself from AZB's toxic culture. Merger/schemes specialist HT is also there in the team as a counsel.

You'll find one of the most cool guys in the team. Some SAs are obsessed with F1. Some with coffee, some with diet and workout. Colleagues are supportive and helpful. Vaidhya takes care of associates like family and makes them sit and present for KM sessions every Friday (lol). Have witnessed all this firsthand.

Not Gen Z as a whole, the problem is with the Covid generation. They spent their first couple of years of college at home and have no activist spirit. These people are now in fourth or fifth year, but their lethargy has rubbed on to junior batches. And yes, this generation is also the one obsessed with culture wars and wokeness.

Writing this with a lot of anguish, frustration, and confusion. I had applied to SCAM by mailing the HR and keeping my reference, who is a PA at the firm, in copy. The PA even forwarded my application to HR with the note: “Could you please consider this?”

Two days later, I got a rejection mail from HR. While I didn’t have high expectations given SCAM’s reputation for primarily taking people through client referrals I was curious how my application got rejected so quickly. So, out of curiosity, I sent the same application and cover letter again to the same HR. Within a few hours, I received the exact same rejection email, word-for-word.

Every time I go through the internship application process mentioned on the firm’s website, I end up confused. If someone is offering you an overseas jobs or open/closed work permit, they should be a registered recruitment agencies with protector general of emigrants. Don't trust visa consultancies to get you a job abroad. These people have no accountability and court battles are lengthy and expensive.

They use their own staff accounts and digital marketing companies and online reputation management to buy reviews and deceive people.

They often find their clients by illegally and intentionally posting fake foreign jobs on various job portals and boards. Doing this is banned under the Emigration Act of 1981 but no one is monitoring them so they keep on going.

The best way, presuming that you do not have any contacts, is to visit courtrooms having OS determination & identify Counsels who you think argue well (whether or not they are a Silk), following which do some background research on their work and then directly approach them. Why do I say this? Formal applications are rarely called for; candidly, pupillages at Cal HC are mostly through recommendations. The realistic shot is to genuinely appreciate the Counsel's work & expertise, do some meticulous research on his/her work and then politely approach the Counsel in court; however, it's a high-risk, high-reward situation – at worst you would be castigated on the tenets of decorum, at best you will walk out with a juniorship in hand. I can tell you most assuredly that this is the most effective approach, despite the potential risks involved. However, do not resort to outright flattery; it can be easily pierced through. Be thoroughly prepared, a 2 min conversation can do wonders if done right, and contrary to the popular rhetoric pertaining to the profession, people still can turn out to be extremely benevolent if they see a semblance of promise in you. The 2025 campus recruits at a Mumbai based law firm (won't disclose it) are extremely below average. Those folks don't even know the basics of statutes taught in the first year of law school and parley unwanted entitlement when it comes to work. The JGLS hogwash must be put to an end for such reasons.

NLUJ: 31 PPOs, 23 DayZ. These are individual number of people who got placed, not offers. I've seen people often confuse offers for the number of people who got placed. I can't be completely sure about the total number of offers, though. So that's 54 placements, in an RICC class of 80. Nearly all of these are T1.

Afaik, GNLU placed 29 people on Day Z, idk the number of offers they received, though.

1. As far as I am able to understand, the ban goes much further than merely banning the things you said. It seems to be an almost blanket ban.

2. Of course, you are right regarding the funding of libraries. Everything I said is based on the assumption that that won't happen, because governments tend not to fund stuff if they can help it. Especially stuff like music CDs, scores etc. A CD of Beethoven's violin concertos outside India costs over $150 on Amazon. Which government (or even community fund, such as a Home Owners' Association or whatever) will be willing to give that kind of money? Of course, I will be more than happy if you can find one such!

3. The reality is that parents, beyond a point, can't do much. Of course they must be there to guide. Of course they should supervise what the kid is doing. But the kid needs a level of freedom as well. They may find pathways of exploration that their parents do not have time to help them with. Parents have their own lives to carry on with - jobs to go to, household bills to pay, perhaps other (maybe younger?) children to look after. Doing things like what I described is a very organic process. Your mum or dad isn't at your beck and call. You might have found a particular passage of a piece immensely difficult for days, weeks, perhaps even months on end. Then suddenly, one day, something clunks into place in your head, you know what to do, you just need to listen and correspond what you are hearing with your own hand movements on your piano. Your parents may be away at that time and you may not have access to their credentials or devices in that way. What do you do then? There are practical realities to be contended with, these are just some. What's the solution for those things you talked about? Age verification - proper age verification, perhaps combined with things like safe search. I am more than happy to engage in a reasonable discussion of what other methods you could use to prevent the access to harmful content, as long as you are willing to be a little less angry. Naturally, these are difficult and emotional issues for many, as lives have been destroyed due to accessing of harmful content. But that's even more reason we work extra hard not to get angry about this.

I don't want to share details as it's work-related and involves a client. Let's just say it's similar to something like this: Did company X bid to buy company Y? ChatGPT says no, but the answer is absolutely yes! Can be verified from news reports and official records. I was stunned by this mistake. I told ChatGPT, you are wrong. After over a minute, it said yes, you are right --- sorry. Then it gave the correct info.

So AI is not perfect. The other thing we should remember is that a lot of the stuff ChatGPT absorbs is from Wikipedia. It used to be a decent resource, now it's totally garbage: full of conspiracy theorists, far-left lunatics and propagandists posting as neutral voices.
