They register as a private limited company with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to appear legitimate.
MCA registration simply means the business is legally incorporated ā it does not certify that they are a licensed overseas recruitment agent. Many victims assume āMCA registeredā equals āgovernment-approved for foreign recruitment,ā which is false.
2) Legal agreements designed to protect them, not you
They make clients sign service agreements that only promise āvisa assistanceā, never an actual job.
The agreement is written in such a way that if you later accuse them of fraud, they can point to the fine print: āWe only provide visa facilitation; we do not guarantee employment.ā
This lets them avoid legal trouble while still giving the false impression that theyāre a job placement service.
3) Job search āafterā visa stamping
They claim that employers will be revealed and interviews arranged only after the visa is stamped ā but in reality, thereās no employer.
4) No employer names in ads or listings
On job portals, they post vague āOverseas job opportunitiesā without naming companies because there is no actual job offer in hand.
The postingās only purpose is to capture leads for their visa service, not to match applicants to real openings.
5) The profit is in the āprocessingā
Their business model depends entirely on collecting large āprocessing feesā upfront. Even if you never travel or get employed, they have fulfilled whatās written in their contract (e.g., āvisa assistance serviceā), so you have little legal recourse.
They exploit legal loopholes and a person needs to verify whether an agency actually has legitimate overseas recruitment authority. That way, you can see where these schemes hide behind ālegalā appearances.
In short, they operate in a gray zone ā morally fraudulent but legally insulated ā by making sure their marketing is misleading but their paperwork is technically accurate.
I have internship at a tier-I lined up in October in the Capital Markets team. How can I make the most of it? And How should I prepare for the same? Thank You :P
From what you've said, the rest of the profile seems like a very strong fit. Try to get at least 1-2 high quality publications before applying (if possible) otherwise just the nail the SOPs and LORs and you should get in. SOP and LORs can really make or break it. Also apply to LSE or other good UK unis as a fallback. Best of Luck! I hope you you get in :)
And no hate, Saraf does not usually select from applcations from theor central email. They seem to predominantly take interns from NLUs or JGLS through TPO (correct if I am wrong)

We can establish local shelter homes and therein these dogs can be kept. This way we can take care of these dogs as well.
I had been through 2 interviews. First one blew it like typical textbook way. 2nd one was something strange - I mailed them regarding delay ( took 8-9 days after interview) and somehow got instant rejection.
So, litigation is better.

Just got 1 offer from AZB. That's it.
Is it true that even after a year you won't have time to take even 1-2 vacations in the year around a week or slightly shorter?
Is there no firm that pays lesser but offers say weekends or 1 day of the weekend off?
Is it true that you will be completely alienated from your family/spouse/children if you go into corporate?
What are some of the more prominent possible options if one decided to work in corporate for a couple years and then leave to a relatively lower work load with lower pay?

Time and again, there are discussions on this platform about NLUs being nationalized. This is the latest one going on...
https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/447571-Institute-of-National-Importance-for-NLU-s
This is what state NLUs have to give up, should they choose the nationalization path. The questions are:
> How likely are those who benefit from the domicile quota system willing to give up this backdoor entry scheme?
> How likely are respective state governments willing to cede control of their state NLUs?
Therefore, any discussion on the nationalization of state NLUs is a fantasy, a complete non-starter.

Stop treating the highest academic degree like an online course from satyam. If you want to pursue it, do it earnestly. Stop fooling around.
1. Overlap with Chartered Accountancy/Big-4 Practice:
IDT has traditionally been a stronghold of chartered accountants and tax consultants. A significant portion of IDT compliance and advisory work lies in accounting, classification, and procedural interpretationāareas where CAs have historically dominated. This overlap can make one hesitant to invest heavily in building IDT teams, as the space is already highly competitive and rate-sensitive.
2. Lower Billing Rates Compared to Other Practice Areas:
Despite being complex and technical, IDT often doesnāt command the same billing rates as other areas like corporate litigation, arbitration, or regulatory work. This perception of lower commercial return can make firms less inclined to prioritize IDT as a core offering.
3. Perceived "Technical" Nature:
IDT involves detailed rules, notifications, circulars, and frequent changes in tax positions. Some law firms view it as more "technical" or compliance-heavy, rather than purely legal or strategicāleading to a perception that it lacks the glamour or strategic depth of constitutional or commercial litigation. That said, forward-looking firms are increasingly recognizing the value of a robust IDT practice, especially as GST-related issues reach higher courts and the need for sophisticated legal strategy grows. Those who position themselves well in this space early will likely see long-term dividends.
The compensation was = 14 (fixed) + 3 bonus + annual group health insurance. They recently hired 4 people in day zero from a well known t1 NLU, among which is one of my close friend and I have seen the offer letter.
Referrals are generally looked down upon in SCAM, and now SAM has even made a hierarchy of internship timelines (4 weeks>3 weeks>2 weeks) where even if you did get the internship through the referral, you would only be in for 2 weeks. Not only is that lower than the stipulated internship period by the BCI, it also leaves a bad impression in the team you're working with cause you get labelled immediately, and amongst your co-interns as well. So don't be too frustrated since not much would come out of the internship other than just an addition to your resume.

The top court today directed the Delhi government and civic bodies in Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad to begin immediate removal of stray dogs from all localities and house them in shelters, saying the animals must not be returned to the streets.
PETA India's Senior Director of Veterinary Affairs, Dr Mini Aravindan, issued a statement questioning the effectiveness of mass removal.
"Communities think of neighbourhood dogs as family, and the displacement and jailing of dogs is not scientific and has NEVER worked. Per a population survey conducted in 2022-23, Delhi has around 10 lakh community dogs, with less than half sterilised. Forced removal of some 10 lakh community dogs from Delhi's streets will cause uproar in communities that care deeply for them and chaos and suffering for the dogs on a large scale. It will also ultimately do nothing to curb the dog population, reduce rabies or prevent dog bite incidents," the statement read.
