Yes, I know the decision has to be taken by Parliament, but these protests can help raise the issue of nationalisation or INI status in Parliament. Without asking for it, nobody is going to give it for free. Let us raise our voice.
And to the JGLS folks, please stay away from this discussion if your point is going to be that “you won’t get INI status.” You got your IOE status only because your university has funds. The application fee for IOE itself is ₹1 crore.
Give us some ideas. We will gather students from all NLUs and start a movement towards nationalisation.
A long, long, time ago in a galaxy far away there lived a brave man called Kian Ganz. He started a legal news website called Legally India. LI consistently took up student issues and supported student protests and campaigns. One such campaign was a move to Nationalise NLUs, which lead to a petition jointly signed by several NLU SBAs.
Over time, this galaxy got destroyed. Meanwhile, a new generation of NLU students concerned themselves with pointless culture wars and political issues.
Thus died the movement to nationalise NLUs. 🪦⚰️
