IndusLaw has hired RDA Legal corporate partner and Mumbai office head Anupam Prasad as a corporate partner.

IndusLaw has hired RDA Legal Bangalore partner Avik Biwsas as a partner in its Bangalore office with his team of associates Shrutika Umarji, N Guruprasad, Jaya Shruthi and Amrutha Bhat.

RDA Legal advised pickles and jams manufacturer Desai Brothers in buying out Savannah Hotels from Sinclairs Hotels, which operates the Savannah-Sinclairs Hotel in Bangalore, and from Savannah’s other shareholders.

RDA managing partner Rohit Das and associates Ushasi Das and Robin Quadros advised on the transaction, while partner Avik Biswas led the due diligence with senior associate Naren BS and associate Soumik Das.

Sinclairs Hotels, which Das advised in its November 2011 acquisition of Savannah, was advised in-house.

Exclusive: Arindam Pal, who had left PXV Law Partners late last year with co-founding partner Rohit Das but ended up starting Augustus Law Chambers in Kolkata independently, is planning to aggressively expand the six-lawyer firm to other cities.
