Atman Desai is leaving CAM for KCO in a homecoming. It's a big hiring and poaching by KCO because Atman has become one of the most eminent lawyers in Infrastructure and Projects Practice.
He has been recognised by IFLR as highly regarded lawyer for 2021-23. Now it seems firms are focusing on Ahmedabad due to govt's initiatives to develop it as a mega business hub. Would be interesting times ahead.

I would really appreciate some guidance on how to navigate this.
Prime reason to stop litigation is that I have started to dislike courts.
Sir ji humari bhi help kar dijiye.
It's much better to go to conferences: starting with CII and FICCI and ending with Davos.
I am seeking job prospects in the legal field in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, as I plan to relocate there in about a year. Currently, I have 1.5 years of PQE, having worked for a boutique production house and now with a top private insurance company as in-house counsel.
After conducting research, I am considering the following options:
1. Transition to maritime law and explore opportunities with organizations like HPCL.
2. Take a career break to pursue an LLM/MBA.
3. Explore remote work, either independently or with a company that allows for WFH.
4. Pursue an LLM now and appear for UGC NET to teach in NLU Vizag or GITAM.
5. Follow my passion and start a business.
6. Explore opportunities with Visakhapatnam-based law firms, acknowledging potential language barriers.
Ideally, I aim to continue earning and plan to return to Mumbai in about 5 years. During that time, I aspire to be considered for impactful roles, emphasizing my commitment to not compromise my current work despite the inevitable relocation.
Feel free to inquire if you need more details and provide suggestions based on the additional information.
Any suggestions, insights or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Pls mention some names which will take people like me and pay decent salary to survive in Mumbai.
Idhar career progression ki soch ke annihilation ke steps ho rahe hai
@Kian: I demand justice, transparency or at least a mod position so that I can abuse power too!
It’s already been 2 weeks. I would really like to intern here and I think my application has a fair shot of getting accepted fwiw

1. A new "Dr Sahni" is appointed by Naveen Jindal. Possibly someone close to the government, in light of recent events.
2. All power is now concentrated in Raj's hands and he takes over Dr Sahni's powers.
2. He did an LLM, he joined KKV and then took a two year break. What does that have to do with Nepo?
3. When Gsanks was in Law School, YouTube had not been invented!!! He did that interview ten years later, when he was in practise, in fact in her own chamber!
This is called research?!!
Needless to add, a cold email from a random person will not receive a response.
So all things considered I feel if I leave and join somewhere else my dad can retire peacefully.
There is a deep spiritual reason behind her being in your environment.
Don't judge her - suport her like anything.
Now, all well-meaning liberals would say, "Hey, why not? Can't the Jews and Arabs peacefully coexist?" The answer, my friends, lies in present-day Palestine and the prevailing temperament there towards the Jews. They have literally zero tolerance for them. And Gaza is absolutely out of the question! Crucially, the Hamas Charter unabashedly advocates for the eradication of Jews. It is imperative to discern this conflict not merely as a territorial dispute but, rather, as an antisemitic imbroglio, draped in the guise of a territorial altercation.
We must therefore support any endeavour to root Hamas out of existence.

But if you’re gonna contextualise “ why in this one instance were Muslims
shouting a religious slogan ? Was it to
Intimidate ?” You have to contextualise it for the JSR folks also - which instance is Dalwai speaking of ? How do we know it was to intimidate ?
If all you learnt from law school was to cling to appeals from authority - you’ve been quite poorly served. I think the actions of Hamas on oct 7 were clearly the actions of a terrorist. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck - might be a duck. I disagree with you on facts about israels war - I’m unsure we have all the reporting in on how this war is being fought. There is a lot of propaganda from both sides and I refuse to take my news from Instagram. In any case israel is a recognised state for 70 something years now and if they have committed war crimes they should be held accountable. The facts might show that israel has fought this war as well as they can - that they have avoided civilian casualties and focused on returning hostages and destroying Hamas in which case they shouldn’t get condemnation.
Israel has enough fire power to obliterate Gaza today. But in the last few decades Palestinian population has grown instead of declined.
It sure seems to me that it israel was a bigoted genocidal state like nazi Germany - they should be better at the bigotry or the genocide no ?
How many Jews peacefully live in Gaza ? How many Christians? Can gay people become leaders of Hamas ? Can women ?
The stated goal of israel in its founding documents is a peaceful prosperous state - the stated goal of Hamas is to kill the Jews. Why is Israel nazis again?
To have a tribe you have to go along with.
Hamas .
It’s on twitter ffs.
1) I don’t think israel is a colonialist project. The britishers actually during the holocaust limited Jewish immigration while not fettering Arab Muslim immigration into that land.
2) not just biblically but historically - the jewish people are indigenous to judea. They have been expelled from that land by Palestinians , British , Romans , ottoman Turks , Arabs - whatever - they have still always returned there because it is their home. If there is a native to that land - it’s Jews.
3) how is Gaza and West Bank an open air prison when hundreds of thousands of Gaza soldiers could go into Israel on work visas on October 6th ? How is it an open air prison when one side of that border for Gaza is adjoining Egypt? Having borders do not make something an open air prison. If Hamas and Palestinians want to have a violent antagonistic relationship with their neighbors- if they decide to send in rockets to kill children in schools - they can’t very well play the victim when their neighbour decides to blockade ?
How is it both an open air prison and Hamas and Palestine have their own rockets that they routinely shoot at Israel ?
4) Bhagat Singh and nelson Mandela did not rape women or kill babies. They attacked the state. There is an undeniable moral difference. If Bhagat Singh and Nelson Mandela had raped British women and murdered babies we would not be celebrating them as freedom fighters. And in case you forgot our history- it is entirely possible - no matter the oppression - to resist nonviolently. Gandhi did that Martin Luther king did that. That is what resistance actually looks like.
5) Hamas is not a home grown political organisation that has gotten radicalised. Hamas is funded by Iran- where do you think they get the guns and the missiles and the bombs from ? Hamas and the PLO have rejected 5 times a two state solution. 5 times israel has offered them good land - more land than they have now. And they have walked away without a counter offer. That is not an actor who wants the best for Palestinian people. That is a religious fundamentalist who wants a religious war. Have you read the Hamas charter ? They talk more about wanting to kill and eradicate Jews than they do about prosperity for Palestinians. Millions and millions of dollars of aid has routinely gone into West Bank and Gaza - where is the development ? Why are their kids dying without clean water? It’s because Hamas and the PLO are corrupt and feckless and hide behind babies and women.
Think about it for one second - where are the female Palestinian “freedom fighters”? I can name you a number of women freedom fighters in the Indian freedom movement, I can name
you female soldiers for israel, Golda Meir was one of the most important prime ministers of Israel. Where are Palestinian women ? This one thing is not like the other. Our movement was about freedom and self rule for all- their movement is about religious fundamentalism.
5) simply googling will tell you that israel has found Hamas in the West Bank too. Maybe instead of parroting that comedian dude read ground reports and history. Israel has not been in Gaza since 2005. What have the Palestinians done for themselves in those 17 years?
West Bank - israel won the West Bank in the 1948 war where one newly born jewish state fought 6 Arab states. Israel won it back from Jordan in the 6 day work in 1967. Fair is fair right - if you lose a war you provoked - why are you then the victim ? You lost the damn wars! Nevertheless Israel offered in 1997- that’s 26 years ago now - to pull entirely out of the West Bank and go back to pre 1967 borders in the Oslo accords. The Oslo accords failed because the plo walked away without even a counter offer. Because these are not humanitarian freedom fighters - they are religious fundamentalists who want Jews to be driven into the Mediterranean Sea. Any two state solution is unacceptable to them. That is why you won’t have a two state solution in the Middle East.
You’re in such an information bubble it is laughable. I’m sure Israeli governments have done horrible things. I blame Netanyahu for Hamas being so powerful. But you act as if israel is the only one with somewhat questionable internal policies over the years. When Hamas came to power in Gaza - they threw their opposition - the fatah off buildings. They routinely kill and torture their own lgbt citizens . What rights do religious minorities have with Hamas in charge ? What happens to Christians in Gaza ? What rights do women have with Hamas in charge ? You think these “freedom fighters” only rape Israeli women ? You don’t think that man goes back home and beats his wife up ? Israel has constantly had female representatives in the Knesset. They have Arabs and Christians who are in their parliament on their Supreme Court - can Hamas say the same about their rule in Gaza ?
There is a difference between a state having some bad internal policies that were a result of over zealous right wing assholes and then admitting to and correcting their behaviour when it’s proven. And largely having a democratic government with rights for minorities and rights for women. And a religious fundamentalist state which has no place for women in public life and murders anyone who disagrees with their religious mandates as a matter of policy - proudly in broad daylight. There is a difference when a state inadvertently harms civilians because they are being used as human shields, and a mob of thugs who gleefully video themselves raping women and killing babies, taking hostages , and then hiding behind schools and hospitals and using them as human shields.
This history is long and complex and started before you began to pay attention and is more complex than
Instagram will allow. To assume everyone who disagrees with you is either stupid or bigoted doesn’t betray a point of view that is curious and compassionate to human suffering.
Mangal Panday and Bhagat Singh ONLY attacked symbols of state? Does symbol of state include people of that state? Because they were certainly murdered. Go pick a book, check why were they hanged.
Also don't talk selective history, go read what happened when at the time of revolt of 1857, go read what happened when soldiers marched to Delhi, check out what happened at siege of Kanpur.
Our struggle is literally the same, except that British wanted to keep us subjugated in our land, while Israel wants to push them out of their own country.

Why you want schadenfreude ?
What’s more - feminists and women have traditionally been a voting block for the left. Once you tell women that they don’t exist as a sex class - that womanhood is an idea in a man’s head, that they should be good little girls and share their restrooms and changing rooms and political struggles with males because of one pseudo philosophers garbage theory - those women will stay at home and not vote - or they will vote the other way. When you tell them sex work is just work and they should consider it when they don’t get employed - you will lose their vote.Jews traditionally vote on the left by and large - but when you start telling them that they are colonialists in the only
Homeland Jewish people have ever known- when you tell them the rape and murder of women and children is acceptable resistance - they will not vote for you anymore.
The working class is traditionally left wing - but when you condescend to them and shame them because they won’t play pronoun games or because they object to their daughters being pushed into prostitution, and tell them they should be happy their jobs are now going to an immigrant - you’re gonna lose that vote. When you support boycotts and strikes over the issues of the petty bourgeoisie instead of recognising that the guy who drives cars and does deliveries needs the job to feed himself- you’re gonna lose that vote. The unions are going to turn slowly but surely. The left use to be the home of the working class - but no more.
By getting drawn into woke cultural politics because they are terrified of being cancelled on twitter by gen z woke idiots- the left has abandoned its traditional supporters and has gone from being a party that supported womens rights , supported secularism, supported workers - to a party of college educated elite young people. It’s a bad trade.
The woke left is so inconsistent! Pull yourself together.
Whatever you might think about the profs and administration in your university. You can be sure that they are adults who have seen this several times before. So you should notify the authorities. You should tell them everything you know and suspect and let them figure it out. It’s really the only thing to do.
Don’t let idiots on here tell you to offer her counselling yourself ( you’re not a therapist) or to keep mum and say nothing because privacy ( there is no right to privacy when you might harm yourself or others).
Money has nothing to do with degree but how good you are at what you do. So go ahead and work hard. Wishing you luck!
It will be a very difficult path for her to walk alone. If possible, you should support her through it.
Given her history of family abuse, she won’t necessarily open up completely to you or anyone else. Accept that fact and be patient with her.
You will ask why do you have to bear this, just remember that by being placed in her path, you might actually become the reason why she doesn’t mortally harm herself.
Take care and I hope she perseveres through this.
Do Delhi based T1 and T2 firms take paralegals or long term interns? I am considering it my backup option after graduation (May to September or till the next hiring season maybe). What is the probability of landing a job through it? How much do the firms pay in such cases?
This seems like such an in-house job!
Everyone in TL competition team is out looking for a job, but poor things, nobody wants to touch em!
