We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

And currently pursuing LLB from G.J. Advani College (3year llb) (Mumbai) my grades are average.I am completely unsure of future, so I wanted to ask how to move further in Legal field ? Will internship experience help ?
The pay is 7l pa.
If you want to study at even lesser cost, aim central universities/GLC having 5 year law program:
DU
BHU
Jamia
AMU
GLC Mumbai
ILS Pune
JGLS
NMIMS
Christ
If criteria is learning, Christ could be above NM.
Frankly JGLS is no comparison to any of the colleges given above.
It's top ranked private law college in the country and only fair to compare with top 5 NLUs or Symbiosis Pune.
I donβt think either firm will give an offer on 1 internship. So from a hiring POV also you might have a better shot at AZB since they arenβt known to give PPOs. If you do well at your internship, they will make note of it and youβll have a small advantage on Day 0 over other candidates. Also, if the pool system is still there at AZB then youβll benefit from the diversity of experience early on although it might add to your workload. As for rank-centric, thereβs basically Big Z and everyone else.
In fact, campus placement barely happens in colleges ranked below NLUO, and even the most promising students often have to perform extremely well in the multiple internships that firms force these students to undertake simply because they're from lower ranked colleges like the ones mentioned above.
So if you want a fair chance at getting a decent job, my simple advice would be to take a drop year and prepare for CLAT again. Otherwise, JGLS is a marginally better option.
Please drop reviews about the storage space too. TIA.
The Indian judiciary is one of worst service providers in the world. I respect politicans. Atleast they need to win people's mandate in 5 years. More often than not, Judges in HC come from few families who think it is their birth right. I really think govt should step in and do away this farcical collegium system.
Well it is a rant.... but I feel so light typing it out on LI. Admin, go ahead and censor it (:
Thanks for the outlet
I have had seniors who are solicitors, who have done clerkship and also who haven't done either. The latter also were very competent and has a good knowledge of the law, but could see the experience in the former two. In their understanding of law, their comprehension, and I was always very impressed by their drafting skills. That language and command over arguments amd flow can come from Articled Clerkship sooner.
But, tbh this only exists in Bombay Law Circle. It's a very close knit group. Clerks are exploited for three years with long hours and minimum stipend. It's hell, you won't be able to enjoy law school much.
DVA (Dhavalβs team) and DSK (Sajit/Sagarβs team) - Tier II have a decent RE practice too. Pay is in the range of 1-1.4 lakh if youβre an SA
In other words, once you join a good Sr Adv - does it helps you settle down in life ? Do they give you matters , try to build your practise and life and pay you ?!
A wild thought had appeared. A wild thought.
Names.pls

Considering litigation a big NO in my initial years, tired og reaching out to people on LinkedIN...
What to do??
I am interning and reading huge files makes me wonder, I feel it'll take me weeks to draft so much stuff
Look at him masterfully handle Piers Morgan - https://youtu.be/1ZK_8a1D4XM
NO NOTABLE FACULTY, NO INFRA, and quite honestly, a Symbi college outside Pune is not worth anything.P.S. Even if you have good contacts to get at a headstart in your career or come from a family of lawyers, going to a good college or even a half-decent one would do but please stay away from SLS-N.

This shall be of great help for juniors who look for joining chambers of advocates in their own states rather than moving out to other cities, especially selected few metro cities (Del, Bom, Bangalore).
We therefore need more info of seniors in Allahabad, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and others.
Any other Forum or website ?
Had the privilege to brief Meenakshi maβam for a matter and came across Bhabna maβam as well. Bhabna maβam has an amazing grasp of legal concepts and a vast knowledge pool. We won the matter and Bhabna maβam made me an admirer of hers, for life.
Iβve moved seats just to get a peek at him everyday and oh boy what a sight! Haters gonna hate but the girlies of Tri send their blessings to the MC for poaching him!
