You can't find out who's who by sitting at home on a computer. The good ones have to be approached after seeing them in court. Young upcoming first gen lawyers are most likely to make good bosses and mentors because they know the struggles themselves. Don't give up. Make it a goal to start independent practice as quickly as possible. You can achieve financial independence in 2 years of independent practice. There is always room for young lawyers who can undercut older ones on fees.
Chamber didnt pay anything, so needed pocket money to survive. Luckily, I studied at non NLU and fees were dirt cheap.. you wouldn't believe it if I told you. Parents gave pocket money and said work hard. Felt ashamed but had no choice. Rather be ashamed of taking family support for some time than to be verbally abused by people at the office (experienced this at a renowned firm where I trained before choosing litigation)
Worked at chamber with almost no pay but understood basics of litigation quickly. My boss gave me responsibilities of arguing, negotiating, police station visits, and even cross examination right from the beginning.
Started independent practice. Became financially independent within 3 years. So total of 4 years of family support needed.
Today, 10+ years l

Mooting is a test of grit. If you don't think you answered something correctly, don't lose confidence and continue performing.
You got this.
Do something substantial first then complain.
โP.I.M.P.โ becomes a key part of the investigation and subsequent trial. Prosecutors interrogate Sandra about the songโs maddeningly loud volume and famously misogynist lyrics, and whether those could have provoked her to murder Samuel, who may have been jealous of her seemingly flirtatious interaction with the student.

Good publications in CV>>>>> FICCI internship.
Identify your area of interest, write articles on them. This will also help you to network. You can reach out to practitioner like partners, share your article and demonstrate your interest
Confused whether to continue in Sebi or try and give the RBI General Grade B.
Would like your opinion on the same.
Specifically in context of scope for professional and Personal development and opportunities available in both in the future.
Pay difference is not a major issue for me.
Source: Friend just completed her callback with the Bangalore GC team.
I knew the work would revolve around mainly just researching however the only work they seem interested in giving is creating social media posts and designing them. Honestly, this seems very much of a waste of my time. I am really confused, should I leave this internship or do I keep doing it ?
Can't expect anything else

As another young lawyer who was heavily targeted by ex-AJIBII trio partners who have been in all equity firm since five years, is the world really so cruel? Is there no justice? People in power can do anything to us at any point of time and get away with it.
Lesson to be learned: NEVER underestimate the evil in people. We will never defeat the system. It's rigged and designed to make the powerful even more powerful.
(For context I'm currently preparing for an interview, lost all data in my laptop a while back and finding it difficult to revisit all the propositions in depth) :((
I have applied through their website for the same in December, haven't heard anything from them yet.
-Pay/ Stipend
-Work culture
- Internship and PPO Policies etc.
Thank me later, and ofcourse Nikhil.
also, think long-term. some risk is necessary in life if you want the outcome of your choice. rest is up to you.
OP focus on the top 10 universities. At the end of the day, India does not have stellar advisors. Most of the best are abroad and they do not have the luxury of taking in 100 doctoral candidates. So unless you have a stellar record, the advisor you will receive will be mid- at best. So ultimately the institution matters. Especially if you want to start an academic career. Rest, your own career and connection will be built on the research that yoh produce post PhD.
Also the ripped apart by external or RAC is BS ! In the end you will always know more about your research area than your advisor. Your advisor is only there to help you with the modes of research and not with the actual content. So whether you will be ripped apart or not will depend on how well you researched your topic. All the best.
2. The heroes in law schools are corp lawyers- not entrepreneurs. NUJS had a bunch of entrepreneurs- perhaps it is contagious in some ways.
3. The more the folklore of successful entrepreneurs spread, more you will see people opt for start-ups.
4. to build a start-up, you need to be good at at least one of these things: sales, marketing, coding, raising investments. do you think law schools prepare you for any of these things?
5. Now think of an IIT. All their heroes are Entrepreneurs or investors. You will not see this disdain for Entrepreneurs
Lawsikho is a 500 cr market cap listed company
Tanuj, Sammanika - they all have bootstrapped their way to serving people in a meaningful way
You donโt have to shit on people who are more successful than you because you cannot do it
Can you expand a bit on the feasibility studies part? Sounds like an interesting development if that's true.
Not because of academics - you can manage that easily from home. But the relationships and friendships that will support you for the rest of your life - the memories of law school - are formed in the hostel. I cannot emphasize this enough.
Being in a hostel and having to adjust to roommates and handle less than perfect toilets you have to share etc is also a good life skill to learn - think of it as an introduction to the real world outside the protection of your parents' home - you're probably 18 now, it's a good time to start being independent.
and good supervisor is variable y
if you get y in x then go for x
its unlikely that you will not get y in x, however if you cannot get to x then you can go for y who is not in x
Honestly, I didnโt like the ending and I donโt want this movie to win the Oscar. The viewer is kept waiting for 2.5 hours and we still donโt get a clear answer on how Samuel died. I donโt get how the court just acquitted her in the basis of a random memory by the kid. TBH Sandra comes across like a total b****, cheating on her husband like that.
Calling all the banking lawyers on LI to please explain why and what is happening? The notice is issued to Paytm Payments Bank and not for the Paytm App itself no?
I spoke to his junior and he told me that he will get me in touch with someone as same native place as mine i.e. nagpur. He also told me that I dont take this as him politely rejecting me.
However I am not sure whether this is a polite rejection , gatekeeping or genuine help from that junior. Should I mail Sr Adv again ? How to know true intentions of this junior ?
Thanks in advance
I'm in my 2nd year (by the time of Internship I'll finish) and applied there, what are the chances if getting confirmation.
Additionally, after how many days of application you got confirmation.
And also, Any tips?
I hope you consider it writing.
Prons:Good library, campus, course outline and program, law centres.
Cons: pathetic placement and internship cell, no alumini network, faculty and placement cell.
If you wanna chill and get law degree it's a good place. If you are someone serious about studies and wants to start working after studies it's not recommended.
Thanks again!!
The label of the former has seen Ezhavas being denied temple entry, access to Savarna villages, etc along with being not allowed to state services like army, medical, etc in past. The occupation based slurs like "chethukaran" and "kotti" is still used today even for a CM from Ezhava community.
NLUs glorify corporates because that is how they justify the ROI, and its fine. When you spend a ton of money to get your ticket at a premier institution, you also need to make the most out of that opportunity and make it a worthwhile investment. That said, there are plenty of kids from the top 6-7 NLUs that have cracked LLMs and MBAs at prestigious universities or have forayed into UPSC and the likes. Look them up, they are plenty and you will be amazed with the level of talent they have.
Secondly, your pursuit of practical knowledge is commendable but the same gets easier when you know what you are looking for in your 'hit and trial' method. No lawyer, irrespective of their alma mater, will ever deny the importance of a thorough and comprehensive understanding that stokes critical thinking. If they do, they are not good lawyers to begin with and you should steer clear of them.
Your idea that litigators are looked down upon is also not the right one. Litigation as a practice is very hostile for newcomers and most of the law grads who decide to pursue it do anything and everything in their power to just survive the onslaught of imbecile and pathetic seniors. Also, please tell me what type of service to society are you doing when your senior keeps deferring the matter on the pretext that it is a fresh matter or for other flimsy reasons.
The average NLU rage is so outlandish. The graduates of any law college are destined for greatness provided they have the substance for it. But you cannot downplay the importance of an institution that hones talents, makes sure that avenues are made available for their students to grow and provides the best education by Indian standards. It is not impossible to do good without all of these but it's hard.
Regards,
A graduate from an absolutely pathetic college who got into T1.
Itโs a different type of college where honestly youโll only get what you what you are willing to work for. You can either choose to crib and not use your free time productively or you can start working for your future. Once you start working even chilling at marines/BK will seem fun to you.
please let me know the procedure and would be grateful if someone having done this before gives their insights on the same
i have been interning for a few months now and i cant tell you how exhausted I am and how much i wish to be a normal college student again. you dont have to carry every burden with you all the time, just chip down at your goals whatever they are slowly, i cannot emphasise enough that you should not fall down the trap of comparing yourselves with others - this will bring nothing but more anxiety, dont worry about placement from now trust yourself if you are good enough to get into glc being an OMS, trust me you will be fine here. its sad that you have not gotten the right mentors till now, I know its tough when many dont show up in college, but please if you want to have a chat about anything i am free for you, we can find a way to chat.
i fully concur about the toxicity about xyz internship at xyz firm, especially when everyone does not start from the same pedestal in glc (some having the enviable advantage of being related to
Write SQE, clear it - you can write SQE 1 sitting in India, for SQE 2 you can either go to UK or get exemption if you have 2 years legal experience in Indian courts or law firms
Spend some time in UK, network
Its not so difficult
And UK law firms are slowly opening offices in India, partners have started visiting and doing feasibility studies

Hence, abolishing reservation will lead to the end of snide remarks and resentment, because everyone will equally enter on merit.
You can still participate in campus activities and make friends/go on dates if you stay outside!
First, does Kochhar and Co hire freshers?
Second, what is the the AO salary (fixed+variable)- Bangalore office specifically
