Why do you want to do a PhD when you aren't passionate about any field?
What about a field which does not have an decent Indian authorities ? And too poor to go abroad ?!
Are you saying that they got a chance to do it from Yale and gave it up for CUSAT? Otherwise your illustration contains a fallacy.
When he started his PhD in 2008, he started under a different prof. That person was and is a well known name in IP.
Then you've shot yourself in the foot. Since that means he has had two different advisors. Yet he produced and completed the PhD cause of his own efforts and not cause of his advisors.
let us say good institute is variable x

and good supervisor is variable y

if you get y in x then go for x

its unlikely that you will not get y in x, however if you cannot get to x then you can go for y who is not in x
Seems like you spend more time on LI than in real life. Almost majority of good research is being done in labs especially related to criminal and cyber law. Go to IITD and you'll find out especially related to digital forensics in penal law.
Please name 5 legal papers published in well-known law journals that reflect such research. I never said research doesn't require lab, however, what is commonly categorised as legal research in this country almost never does.
Search for yourself. Stop being that "provide link" guy.
Make claims that you can substantiate. Stop being that "my opinion is fact" guy.
Cyber law research requires lab. Which is basically CS systems.
Please name some people well-known as cyber law scholars who have done such research and published the same in law journals.
Law and psychology, for example, needs huge resources and labs.
