This is the actual letter by the admin to the faculty and staff.

State NLUs are in shambles. They are in the news for:
- NALSAR for faculty attrition and admin apathy
- NUJS for sexual harassment FIR against a senior admin officer (apparently the VC)
- GNLU for rape and sexual molestation of girl students
- NLSIU is a JGLS in the making (humongous batch size and a 25% fee jump in 1 year)
- NLSIU for sexual harassment of a female student
- And the list goes on.......
I am not even talking about lower NLUs. This is the new normal in all NLUs.
Gen Alpha has big shoes to follow!
tier 1 nlu tho
1) Physical infrastructure
2) teaching quality
3) student quality & peer competition
4) college fests & college life
5) moot court facility
6) library and database collection
7) exposure to international stuff (student exchange programmes, summer programmes)
8) placement opportunities
ik you have only been a part of it for a year but kindly rate them all on a scale of 1-10
So yes, go for it.
There are people in Hamas and Hamas supporters on this site- they claim that Oct 7 never happened, it was a false flag operation, IDF soldiers actually attacked israelis that day, that the hostages are in love with the terrorists keeping them hostage. That there were no rapes or murders that took place on Oct 7.
Does or does not the IDF engage in the same form of fact denialism? Please show me links where IDF is claiming they arent engaged in a war in Gaza. They may disagree about very specific events like the hospital bombing- and from the evidence Ive seen there is reason to believe that those missiles did not come from IDF. but there is no blanket denialism of the war itself. theres justification of war- but not really a complete denial in the same way.
those are two very different things. Its not just a difference in degree its a difference in kind
there is a widespread sense that increments are given to admin folks because theyre in the good graces of the administration even though they do fairly little work in terms of class prep or in terms of evaluation and student facing work. These decisions are never justified or transparent- they dont even explain to you why someone got a raise and someone didnt. Last year i heard of several people who actually had their salary amount changed in the salary adjustment email to less than what was agreed upon at the time of joining. The university might be paying more than some other universities- but it is no longer true that its the best paymaster for legal academics in india.
Faculty welfare and support is not really a priority at all for the university. and if you try to enforce rigor and have standards in your education you will be at the mercy of a student mob and an admin that dances to their tunes. the way administrators see this is -faculty take out salaries from university corpus
Whatever you write, it’s important that it gets in front of people
Unless you are an academic
If you want to be a successful lawyer don’t listen to academics
Write on platforms where your potential clients or recruiters will read your content
That includes popular blogs and LinkedIn
Even twitter
It ranks on google on almost all legal topics
2.5 million monthly readers, gets you in front of potential clients as well
Don’t be myopic and elitist at the same time, bad for your career :)
Reach out to Vanshika Kapoor in linkedin or twitter if you want to write regularly
Would really appreciate any help in this regards. Dont want to stay in house. very boring work, i want to join a firm so... Thanks

No gives a shit and on the contrary everyone stans couple nos 2 and 3. Only jobless housing society aunties and uncles have a problem with such relationships (and they're younger equivalents in law firms: aunties-in-waiting/uncles-in-waiting). Do you really want to give up the person you like because of these toxic aunties and junior aunties/uncles-in waiting? What if this girl is the love of your life?
So just go for it... but do so politely, nicely, slowly and subtly. Invite her to a movie first. Many of the Oscar movies are showing in town, so that's a good excuse.

Also very strange that NLS or student body hasn't cared to even celebrate this in any manner or even post any congratulatory message/tweet etc. No mean feat that 7+ people have got designated. Really lazy from the student body

I haven't seen Indians that successful. Some kerala mallu people do compliances work and other grunt work for local firms and companies.
International firms, they prefer to hire whites in Dubai more than London. Because dubai is already fully indian. Adding an additional Indian or Pakistani doesn't add international acclaim.
TMC suspended him under pressure. But the state govt is yet to act. Can SG explain the inaction of Dear Aunt?
Please stop spamming
Lmao for what joy
The pay is okayish (not T-1 level, but not bad for in-house), and I’m moving up the chain pretty quickly due to a unique set of circumstances (which resulted in me being recently offered the role of looking after a group company since they liked my work). The exposure is fairly good for my position and is certain to increase post the coming review cycle.
Is it possible to transition to a tier-1 law firm with my profile? I can jump to other in-house roles (which I don’t want to since this is going well), but I feel the exposure of a big law firm will be far more helpful since it is obvious from our dealings with law firms I am lacking in quite a few areas, not to mention the future potential it offers.
I wish to stay in a corporate department, but I wouldn’t mind being involved in some litigation as well. Also, I come from a good college, so the college name isn’t as much of a barrier.
Recently they have given a full professor of Human Rights contract to someone who does not have a masters. Apparently the current VC and this fellow had previous political links.

Maybe he will swap places with a certain disaster in Kolkata. But it is more likely that he will get an extension.
Would appreciate more insights from others
If you know how to manage your time, then everything will be fine.
If you guys can give your experience/opinion you are most welcome.
This is not way the discussions relating to compensation can be undertaken. Please stop sending mass emails to the entire JGU community. If you have specific grievance relating to your compensation, please send an email to HR and that will be examined as per the university procedures and processes.
I request you to immediately STOP sending such mass emails to all faculty regarding individual compensation. These are not only matters of confidentiality but also based upon elaborate procedures and processes that were followed in a transparent manner. Notwithstanding that, if there are grievances on account of compensation, you should address them specifically to the HR.
Thanks for your understanding.
Best regards
We live in an age where the democratisation of decision-making through digital tools is a reality. While I echo our VC and Dean Sudarshan’s coverage of the appraisal process, I wish to understand if that is also the common feeling amongst the rest of us colleagues. I am trying to understand the perception we hold of this process which isreflected in our compensation package. Let me explain what I am trying to find out through an example: I am a lawyer with particular years of experience. When I look at my compensation package from JGU, I feel that while it had matched the industry standard at the time of joining, it does not do so anymore. This has left me distraught. (This example is intentionally kept short to underline the brevity that is required in emails that solicit responses but please do use as many words to explain your reasons for agreement or disagreement with the compensation package.)
A few things to note:
1. It is an anonymous survey. Your email id is required only for login. Your answers will not be referenced to your name or email ids.
2. Please mention your correct designation.
3. Please write detailed reasons.
4. Please do NOT mention your compensation package anywhere. In fact, do not use numbers (or digits) to express any amounts anywhere in the form. This rule is specifically formulated so that we do not violate JGU HR policy.
No ways, Afterall, they got selected after fighting huge levels, CLAT + GD + Tests + Interview conducted by Bombay HC.
Question is are you a desirable partner
Anyway, if you are asking this question here I bet you are an introvert and can’t ask out a girl because you are mortified of rejection
In this game the more people you ask out and more you are unafraid of rejection higher is your chance for success
Ask out a 100 girls, get rejected a hundred times, get over your fear of rejection
That will do you a world of good I say
P.S. Don't say NLS. The VC has f'd up that place bad.

You also haven't considered other things that happen at this age. Housing, Marriage, Long-term financial goals, or maybe personal expenditure (Medical, Family etc.). Things that are much more important than some pseudo-prestige that you crave.

India is not a rotten society as a whole
India needs to develop areas like Bihar/Jharkhand where people are uneducated and poor with no moral or cultural valure( I am not saying to all people of states but some areas its reality)
India also dont have good police force which can investigate matter. Police tend to favour locals and have relations with criminals.
Education is not going to solve it because people who are far more educated still commit rape. We have to teach morals and cultural values to new generation and start public execution of these people.( I know its harsh but only way). In Mauryan Empire rapists/criminals would have their head trampled by large elephants as punishments and just look and Saudi and UAE and their laws.
Those mor*ns who talk human rights about these criminals should be discarded from society as a person who commits these crimes is not human but animal moreover these human right activists who call for less punishment for rapes and other crimes empower criminals indirectly.
But also, you did not have to bring the whole GenZ into it, some of us want to step out
Everyone has felt this way in one way or the other.
NKC will call for EC soon after the LS election dates are announced. He is also hoping that Westin will help him impress the powers that be.
Allegedly, that person is impeding the disciplinary committee and subtly promoting the relaxation of academic rules, possibly with the aim of prompting the current VC to resign and paving the way for their own appointment to the position.
Can someone confirm these rumours?
From Noojie experience, do not be surprised if papers go missing/lost or even created with back dates et al.
I hope some Noojie goes to Cal HC and through inquiry is conducted and the clean up is done in full earnest. No just recruitment but so many other rotten things have been covered up by successive VCs and their acolytes.
The festering protest against pay arbitrariness is valid, as in the last 3 to 4 years, 'unscheduled' increments and 'fast track' promotions have become the norm, especially for faculty associated with a particular center.
My partner would hang me upside down if i recommend this.
