Third-Sixth floors are occupied by our first year girls. (they also have other residents living there)
These residents are from engineering colleges (mainly boys) and there are various catcalling, indecency incidents that have occurred over the past year that was IGNORED by the management.
The purpose behind this rant is to find a way we can curb this problem without me compromising my identity (and my seat in this university)
Let's be real this uni is owned by a โฎโฎโฎ who's not . If 10+ PQE lawyers couldn't do shit how is it feasible for teenagers to just risk everything and sit on a hunger strike?
P.S - the above email is sent (via CC) to all the batches, the VC and the relevant faculties. Guess what? IGNORED.
The campus is great however we first years live 7km away in the middle of nowhere. Our voice is being crushed no matter where we raise it.
BC Jindal, DP Jindal and OP Jindal were brothers. BC and DP made their money in Bengal/Kolkata and OP (dad of Naveen and Sajjan) in Haryana/Delhi. BC and DPโs descendants still operate from Bengal and live in Kolkata but their business is obviously much smaller than that of OPโs branch of the family. While a part of this is because of the decline in Bengal, itโs also true that OP and his kids donated heavily to the Congress and were helped by successive Congress governments. The gap became larger because of this. Of course, now they have shifted to the BJP.
Personal details -
I am working in a Tier 2 law firm in Mumbai in IBC Practice. I have 4+ years work experience here and there. I started with a Litigation lawyer, climbed up to a firm. I took this job due to family financial issues. Currently earning 12 LPA. But I don't have savings due to family reasons - I had to support them for these many years. My age is 26.
Not giving exact details for privacy reasons.
My dream was to became a Judicial Officer. But currently I have done zero prep. I have mostly done SARFESI, IBC work and have forgotten every important law over the time. I only go to NCLT and DRT.
Is it possible to prepare for Judicial Services Exam with a job?
My working houses are 10 to 8, luckily weekends are off (Saturday and Sunday)
How to prepare?
Should I leave my job for preparation?
I am looking for UP Judicial Services Exam.
Kindly tell me if preparing with full time job is possible.
I have heard that for UPSC exams it's very difficult to study with full time job. Is it the same for Judicial Services?
I can quit the job but I only have 4L savings enough for 1 year.
What should I do?????
Please Help !!!

issue No. 1: Favoritism in PhD Candidacy
A concerning situation has emerged involving favoritism towards a PhD candidate who is also a faculty member. The candidate's withdrawal from another National Law University (NLU) was inaccurately portrayed as a transfer, providing them with undue benefits for their PhD tenure. Despite the widespread knowledge of the withdrawal document among faculty members, the administration continues its bold approach, risking further embarrassment and potential litigation.
Issue No. 2: Financial Mismanagement and Event Planning
The university administration has been criticized for financial mismanagement. Despite the financial strain, plans for a TEDx event are moving forward. Faculty members were initially assured that the event would not impact their partially paid salaries. However, this assurance was retracted from the revised meeting minutes after the Vice-Chancellor (VC), VK, raised concerns about potential media leaks. The original minutes, which had been distributed for reference, are still available.
Issue No. 3: Examination Department Irregularities
The examination department's operations have been called into question, with allegations of result manipulation, biased gold medal allocation, and PhD entrance exam favouritism. The assignment of invigilation duties reveals clear favoritism, with some faculty members being exempted and others repeatedly burdened. The duty charts from the numerous exams conducted throughout the year highlight this unfair practice, which is becoming increasingly intolerable. The Controller of Examinations (CoE), exam convenor, and all Assistant Registrars (ARs) must address these issues as they are creating evidences themselves which will cost them soon
I'll give you one simple mantra to make your life easier after college.
Intern intern and intern. There should be no breaks or vacations that u haven't utilised in interning. Try to understand that we 3 yr people get 2 yrs less than the 5 yr guys, so make the most of it.
Also, remove all your previous internships from your CV that don't belong to the practise area u want to get a job in.
Having 4 internships on CV in one particular area is better than having 10 internships all in diverse areas of law.
I understand you must be tempted to explore and make a wise informed choice about your future area of practice but this is a harsh reality, don't confuse the recruiter with multiple practice areas on your CV, stick to one thing and remove everything else.
I am a 2023 batch graduate from a non nlu working in district court, want to shift to a law firm or in house department.

The university is keeping us out of campus in 43ยฐ without any basic amenities. 3am power cuts are hindering our exam schedule and it hurts to see that nobody cares about students. Due to the lack of proper management there are boys living in girls hostel and the management is sleeping on it. Here's the below attached email that is sent by the anguished students to the faculty yet no response has come.
I hope this email finds you in good health.
I am writing this email on behalf of the batch of 2023-28, who were promised to be housed in the campus hostels from academic year 2024-25 onwards, who have been kept in separate off-campus housing for the current academic year (2023-24). These promises were made during the Orientation which was attended by both students and parents.
When we enrolled at this university, one amongst many explicit assurances by the administration was that after our first year, all students would be integrated into the main campus hostels. This assurance was a major factor affecting our decision to attend this university because the students were operating under the promise of being shifted to the main campus hostels in the second year. There are, however, no signs in sight that this promise will come to fruition.
Now that this academic year has drawn to a conclusion and since there still is a lot of uncertainty caused by a vacuum of information regarding our rightful shifting, it forces us to speculate what our future accommodation might be, or if the administration would be keeping us at the off-campus hostels indefinitely, due to โcertain reasonsโ that have not been properly communicated.
This is simply unacceptable. We are paying a total fee of Rs. 3,65,000, and therefore have an equal right to the same campus living experience as is being enjoyed by all our senior batches. The university must uphold its commitments.
We demand that concrete answers and a firm timeline be set and communicated immediately by the administration for relocating all students of batch 2023-28 to the campus hostel before the start of the academic year 2024-25. Keeping us isolated and separated is disruptive to the cohesive student experience of which we were assured.
We request an official written communication by the end of Saturday, i.e., April 20, 2024.
In our living experience so far at our current off-campus hostels, we have suffered several issues with respect to our security and living conditions which have already been flagged several times and have been reiterated below. It is pertinent to mention that little or no steps were taken to resolve these issues.
1. Security issues which have been flagged repeatedly
2. Buses do not ply on time, creates a nuisance for students, and leads to loss of precious time
3. Several instances of bus drivers drunk driving and misbehaving
4. Very limited access to the library and reading room services
5. No common room allotted for co-ed academic activities (both girls and boys studying together)
6. Subpar infrastructure of this apartment
7. No access to air conditioners
8. Random electricity and power cuts
9. Students endure extreme heat during power cuts
10. Food delivery problems
11. No emergency medical facilities available
12. Major safety issues of girls
13. Disturbance due to trains and their incessant horns
14. Wi-Fi problems
15. Residents creating problems in day-to-day activities
16. Restrictive hostel in-timings
17. Insects infestation, and related health issues (instances of students contracting malaria and dengue have been recorded)
There are several other concerns which we are willing to expand on and put forth directly to the administration and the relevant authorities. We request an audience of all relevant authorities for the same.
We hope the university will do the right thing and honour the representations made to us. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter
I am confused which practice to choose. Kindly help
Ps: Applied to 30-40 firms, no acceptances yet. Where should I apply ?
Eg - After retirement, you may not know anything about Harish Salve's practice or firm. However, Zerodha would be controlled by any family member of Kamath family, they will add on to the business revenue. Salve's revenue/fees will stop as soon as he retires.
IIRC, the 'T' in GPT and by that I mean the specific type of T used in GPTs (you can read up for yourself what the T is) was introduced for the very first time in 2017. It was only after this invention, that GPT, as a concept and as a working model, was introduced for the first time by OpenAI in 2018. Infact all the people behind the 2017 invention are founders of leading AI unicorn startups today.
If GPT even as a concept would have been introduced around 1980s then the entire software industry would have been different today. Infact Intel would have focused more GPUs instead of CPUs as the scaling up of GPTs requires more and more GPUs.
Tools like https://app.jurisphere.ai/ are useful but I think we're far from AI taking away all law firm jobs!!!!
Because placement wise, barely 7-8 people got placed in the current lot. That too out of a batch consisting more than 115 students. All tier-2 law firms and only one Khaitan PPO

BCI writes to state governments (their respective Departments of Education) about the fall in the quality of legal education. It urges state governments to be very prudent in approving new law colleges and their affiliation. As expected, the note is only for the state governments and state universities. It covers state NLUs that are mushrooming now. It excludes national universities that are INIs (obviously).
If team doesn't have work then be smart and don't stand on heads of all partners and associates. Be there nice dressed arrive early and go late basics. Be nice to everyone in such cases. Nobody will produce work for you as an intern especially when all interns can do is ten percent of the work.
Both ways lead to similar outcomes mostly that is PPO. Rmember they're looking for reliable smart students to take as A0s. Make sure you come as one.
also the argument that arises everywhere nowadays that AI is gonna take over the world is mostly baseless bull crap and are mere marketing tactics and investment strategies. I would assume in our lifetimes in no way would AI be able to aptly replace any job and on the flip side would always be a medium to only make work easier
there is a reason why lawyers and the judiciary have been around for the pass 1000 years
I have a unisex name and people appreciate when I write my pronouns in my email signature because it avoids uncomfortable Mr./Ms. confusion. Are you allergic to grammar and common sense or do you take political cues from American social media influencers?

Slapgate โNever Happenedโ.
The chatter around it is โMisplaced Outrageโ and โFake Newsโ.
Slapgate has been decreed null and void on LinkedIn by almost every partner at that firm (among other leading corporate lawyers and litigators) with a thumbs up or a ugogurl pride-comment - which makes their truth, โthe truthโ which everyone, including you, must believe to be true.
Alright, troll?
DON'T FORGET THE OG BRAND
Also I wonder why would teams mark a bad comment as trollish if the team is bad itself. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm socho socho.
This should help no? If you still feel that bad comments which are not from genuine people should be put out here, why? Chull hain? Or is LI being used as a tool to do harm to people who maybe otherwise you canโt? Socho socho!
