Hey! I'm in the Cap Marks practice of a mid sized firm. 2026 grad, 2 months in and I already want to quit. I have been wanting to switch to Tax practice too. Can anyone here please share some guidance for the same?
just wasted fuel by coming all the way to multiple centres when they were gonna only take ppl from one centre its just all show now
I mean Veer Singh, Ishwar Bhat, Bimal Patel and the South Indian TLC cartel at NLSIU pre-Sudhir? I feel it's only because people are more aware now that RPNLU is facing the heat.
Manan Lahoty and also Abhirup Lahiri from his team?? Hello there is no one like Abhirup. Gem gem gem.
Partners, seniors, team culture and pay. Spill everything spare no tea.
I just spoke to people in his team at 5pm chaat on thursday, havent heard anything like this.
You are the first Supreme Court advocate I'm seeing who has a proclivity for wanting to engage in a fisticuff lmfao
Apparently telling the truth about the dysfunctional state of the team will get marked as ‘trollish’ by the moderators.
Lots of rumours floating around. Everyone is waiting for the Diwali bonus before revealing their hand.
Lol have you seen him when he is in a mood? The man is super hard core. Lot to learn yes but trial by fire. No place for feelings.
Maybe I just have high standards, but I find that AI has increased my work when I use it to generate first drafts - kind of like using an intern to draft a document - it is easier to redo than review.
Asking this for corporate practice and not disputes as beyond campus placements, firms don't tend to take in A0s.
Hii! I want to intern in the Chambers of Shyam Kapadia, can somebody guide me how can I do that or where/whom to approach?
Any firm(s) ready with their respective SLP(s)? Lets spill the tea?
BUMP!! pls help, any associates from Vritti pls let us know what its like
when have end terms EVER been shifted to first week of the break month in the last 4 years? ffs there are valid issues with the trim system but using weird critiques is stupid
At NLS, they focus on pedagogy. It's more like a conversation, but you don't know how tou have done. I also gave for a private uni where they asked what I vould teach except my specialization and started asking questions from there. In many places, it is like a viva.
What does working with Ajoy Roy, sir, look like? What is the work culture? Is his team toxic, and how is he in general?
Can you please tell some names of the 7 seniors? Know of Mr. Krishnan, Mr. Sibal(s), Mr. Rao only.
Hello all,

I have a placement interview scheduled for Wadia Ghandy next week and my college doesn't have a robust placement training so I was wondering what all would be askes in the interview. Asking this for the disputes team. Please help out!!! Feeling panicked:(
And his grandson Sanjay took it a step further by sterilising the so-called riff raff. But today these masses ironically form the bedrock of the Congress vote, while the affluent elites support the BJP. 🤷‍♂️
If he ever asks you what rule allows him to do something, respond, "The same that allowed you to create Dean posts and delegate your powers to them!"
27 ka placement was better than previous batches, now get aside it's time for batch of 28. Just because not everyone got job, why are so pissed at junior batches mate. Let's be respectful to each other, also mai khud ek ppo interview de chuki hu
Bump on point 3 and 4. Is there any way to get a team switch within the same firm but at different locations that too in your first year? How does on go about it? Do firms even allow that? Heck, do the partners ever agree to this?
How should one go about switching when they joined only a few months ago? Recruiters usually prefer a year of experience at least, so do we directly reach out to the partners or the HR? How do we explain the reasons and navigate the experience cut?
RPS pays decently well to his Chamber staff. And of course, he gets good quality work. It may be easy for you to get in a decent firm after a good long spell in Chambers. But always remember one thing - RPS is very demanding boss.
Want to know about the culture, practice, pay and how has the merger with ARCAS LAW changed things
Like I would assume they would give atleast a week worth of notice or so for the AC so by this time their AC ain’t happening before September end or October and that’s just unbelievable
I have been able to get my foot inside the door by severely compromising on my salary. Honestly, hate it since I keep getting screamed at and waiting to complete at least 6 months here before I wave this terrible place goodbye.
Guys stop bumping this. No one knows who would be hiring and who would not be hiring so far back. Partners themselves won't know their vacancies so far back.
Law will always pay lesser than engineering across the world. That's a fact. even if you take Americans firms into account, a BigLaw firms pays it's summer interns monthly around 16 lakhs to 17 lakhs, when compared to 40lakhs paid by AmeriTech (as mentioned in this post)
Bump. I need the info about the pay there for an A0. I heard the work is good tho
The pay at the firm is abysmal. Partners know it, seniors know it, mid levels know it.

Most people are just sticking around because they’re comfortable.
Annirudha Sen leaving trilegal for JSA?

Heard from some of his subordinates he's making every effort to join JSA and trying to cosy up to some of the partners there..how's trilegal taking the same?
Not sure who told you this, but apparently the same people who left are now finding their way back. Funny how the ones who cribbed about longer notice periods elsewhere somehow managed shorter probations there. Life really does have a sense of humour.
they pay nothing.

no partner has experience in corporate law, you will learn nothing
bump ! this would be so helpful ! actual practitioners writing about their transactions and learnings !
Would be incredibly helpful it someone from law firms answer this. Or someone who got a PPO
There are better ways to compete like adopting new systems, offering a wider range of services, adopting new approaches , etc.

Undercutting is just cheap tactics
Hi buddy. Do an internship with them; based on your performance, they may call you back. Do well in CB, and you’ll have a good chance of getting an offer if they’re hiring freshers. They take the presentation seriously, so make sure you do well in that too.
Are there any ma in english graduates in here? Have you applied/have become an assistant professor? Can you talk about your experiences? Thank you.
I liked the emphasis on Poor and Dwij. You indeed are very nuanced. You will attain greater heights in this profession
UPSC bro. Also pls keep a good CV so if both doesn't work out ( I hope they do) then you can tap into the alumni base for a job, that's the major advantage of being from a good NLU or any good uni for that matter.
▮▮▮ new joinee ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮ is a total creep , entire team is uncomfortable especially women, this thread needs to be posted !
Key to the city for this person! I really liked your point about keeping networks warm - I'd only started reaching out when it was time to switch. Thanks a lot :)
Problem kya hai bhai? Tax and trade are areas of law that need support from CAs sometimes. What do you want us to do now? Such a whiny comment
honestly, HSFK just lost respect, how can they take so many people for AC and still take almost no one from NLUD/NUJS/JGU and barely one person from NLUJ, like what the actual fuck!?

why do you even bother if you don't want to hire
Congratulations to the new partners appointed by CAM! Each one of them is an excellent replacement for all the partners who left
Please shed some light on Senior Counsels practicing in Bombay as well.
I want to do a Ph.D in criminal law. I have been practising as a criminal lawyer for the past 3 years. Should I do a Master's first?
From other side, it may also be seen as locals charging inflated prices and Indians charging prices as it should be!
Thankyou so much dude for this!!

Guys please do answer the above. I am also a fresher looking for a change
Why not? Do it. No one stops you. And if you don't do it, its just a throw away comment meant to derogate the firm.
Some firms like Khaitan have a one-internship policy. T1 NLUs do have quite a few of their students doing T1 internships at the end of their 6th sem. Some of them would intern at Khaitan-like firms too. Therefore, such a PPO is improbable, but not impossible.
Future placement support from your soon to be former employer? Man, aren't you in the wrong profession!
How are the ones getting the PPOs building said rapport? Firms don't have a problem with offering PPOs to students after two internships of one month each. Are the students really being taught anything to help secure the jobs?
Absolutely - seen this with all "tier 1"

The newly made/new book partners also drop rates to build a book and clients tout those rates to T2/Boutiques saying oh Tier 1 has given me this rate - can you match.
This is an elitist comment and should be reported immediately. People who believe they are inherently superior simply because they feel entitled to be have no place in any professional firm. Such attitudes are divisive, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable
Hinduism is not rule based unlike Abrahamics. It is a big tent accommodating a lot of diverse practices. that's the point me and others are trying to make. Don't try to make Hinduism a copy of Islam where the book defines everything.
Scripture is a cultural concept from Abrahamics. Unlike them, Hinduism was never defined by scriptures, they are only for guidance and not mandatory.
That's how competition works. If you can't compete, you don't deserve to survive.
Try their white collar academy /TWCA if theyre doing a next edition. Prolly the best course on that subject!!
Nope I work in LKS and my roomie in ELP. I can assure you my pay check is well above his. If you include bonus then no competition.
Bhasin advocates for DRT & NCLT MUMBAI is reliable & of good standing
Why are we not able to see messages written by others. It keeps showing Moderating? What does that mean?
I don't think that will help, it would be great if you guys could facilitate another list on some other platform, someone has to have a recent-ish backup of the deleted table as well
apart from the usual lexology, Mondaq, iblj. please mention in order of priority
Hi,
Is there any student from BO 2028 which has received PPOs from Tier 1s/Tier 2s. Is there a probability, that PPO can be rolled out for a Batch 2028 person this early, considering he is doing callback in Sept-Oct 2026.
Can someone please shed light on how much Luthra pays his juniors?
