Agree with all other points except (ix). Maybe instead of banning it would be better to reduce their power
These suggestions have been circulating since ages. Better ignore and move on.
None of these points are going to be implemented at least till 2047.
We need more and more lawyers, so we should establish more and more NLUs and law colleges.
Already established lawyers don't want more freshers
Scrapping collegium and giving all powers to Raja Babu?

Good point...

Another gyanu is waiting for an appointment.
None of lawyers having 15 PQE will talk such naive and Noob.
Excellent idea. My letter is ready to go. I just need to get hold of some stamps. I agree with all nine points and have supplemented point 9 – I’m requesting the Hon PM to order a CCI enquiry into SILF. How did SILF get away with this anti-competitive blockade for so long?
Fully agree with OP and law students will be better served if they campaign for such reforms, instead of fighting culture wars over Gaza, SIR, etc.
Notwithstanding the time and effort involved, but subject to the Constitution, I will send one letter every week to the Pradhan M, until these reforms are carried out or till I get a job, whichever is earlier.
As long as law, be it corporate or litigation, remains a old - boys, rich- brats' kitty, nothing is going to change.
Another much needed reform:

Lawyers with chiseled jawlines should be made partner as soon as they are recruited from campus
I agree. Bar Council should also bring a Mog test along with AIBE
This sounds very little like someone with 15 years PQE - you're probably a jobseeker just out of college.
The lalas need to fuck off. Enough with their shit and greed.
There is a strong case to be made that SILF acts as a cartel under the Competition Act.
There is a strong case to be made that the CCI is useless already. They needn't bother with more.
Damn well written but what can the PM do? We need to lobby the law ministry na?
The PM is the overall manager of everything. If we can convince him, many things can fall in place.
The sad fact is that too many lawyers are fine with the status quo. They hope to be one of those top 00.1% of lawyers who make a lot of money. Clients and Country be damned.
Did you mean 0.001%?

The state of Indian lawyers is similar to that of India’s general population. They don’t know what’s good for them. And lawyers don’t even have excuses such as lack of literacy or education!
