I have gotten in contact with a PA who's an alumni from my college. My question is how effective is a PA's reference for an internship (assessment or otherwise) at CAM. For reference, I am a final year student from a non-NLU. I just want to know if I should have any hopes or not with this contact. Thanks for answering!
Thanks
1. First cuts of term sheets, MOUs and transaction documents (SHA, SSA, SPA, etc.). Then once the SA reviews my first cut heβll mostly have ballon comments for me. I am supposed to resolve this and make changes accordingly. Add 1-2 more rounds of back and forth between me and the SA. Then the SA will finalise, I will proofread and it will go the Partner.
2. Due diligence. You will be allotted chapters for which u will be responsible

- Which practice areas can one focus on so as to work independently in the future
- By what age should you go independent
- If you're an independent practitioner then how did you build your client base
Thankyou
Instead of this I actually go with the view of making a friend who's gonna ask maybe 10 legal questions and maybe months later would actually require my help in enforcing one of those.
It's a travesty really, now that NLSIU is being arm twisted to grant 50 percent reservation to localities by Bangalore University for grant of land. Shows how jingoists have been trying to capture this beautiful institution. I just wish Central government took enough initiative to nurture our NLS, maybe more funding. atleast we could have saved it from state politics and jingoists. This is why a lot of alums wanted Institute of Eminence tag for NLS but the state govt. meddled in that too.
Where ambition soars and souls run dry,
An associate, a friend, fell, unheard, unseen,
And life went on like it had always been.
Two partners passed with cold, blank eyes,
No whispered prayers, no heavy sighs.
The Senior Associate and HR, with concern so wide,
Plays nice now, but the mask belied.
The whispers cut through their thin façade,
For everyone knew, behind the charadeβ
In this kingdom of billable hours and fees,
Compassionβs currency falls to its knees.
Let the people know.
This platform should be moved to Reddit and that should be the end of it. Not like LI and Kian are doing anything worthwhile with the rest of LI as is. If only, just resume the moot tracker! I miss the LI of early 2010s.
All this can seriously help in reducing repetitive tasks in general.
What would be some uses for a powerful legal ai - what does Jurisphere, Sarvam actually solve?
As little as ten years ago people were still turning in hardcopy submissions to term papers in law school- think about how low stakes that situation is and how much law world was still slow to adapt.
A person with decent coding skills could figure out most due diligence tasks in a short amount of time. But we still donβt do that because the stakes are too high.
AI is coming to the legal profession , but muuuch slower than people expect. The incentives are just not there to take a chance on tech thatβs very new and whose reliability is not established.
When it comes - a lot of young lawyers will find it very hard to keep their salaries.
May the force be with them. πͺπͺ
Who in MRP has foreign qualifications except the Partners?
His team has incredible attrition.
Please advise whether I should continue with the boutique firm after the 6-month internship or if I should try to intern at these tier 1 IPR firms. Which should I choose? Also, if there are people working in these firms, could you please tell me the chances of these firms offering a PPO or if there are any vacancies for fifth-year students?
Which is the most annoying day to day task(s) you wish AI would help you with? (And any AI that you are already using so it can help others)
P.S - After interacting with Indian partners, I think that a large number of them don't believe in technology so that is also there.
From what I have heard, during our parent's time in college people used to have more physical interactions. There was no concept like online gaming or Instagram. So maybe that made them less depressed? Maybe there is some medical reason due to which the human brain gets less depressed when interacting with people physically?

First learn the work, ask questions, apply your mind and then think of calling names !
Apna best effort maarne ka, 100% dene ka, Ek baar draft bhej diya, fir stress nahi lene ka,
Mistake sabse hota hai, tere senior se bhi hota hai, and tere partner se toh definitely hota hai,
Honest truth is ki ye sab mistakes karke hi wo partner ban paaya hai.
Please do not be discouraged in any manner if you are making mistakes,
Unfortunately, these mistakes and the guilt associated with it when we realise our mistakes are the meagre cost we pay for the valuable experience we gain on what is it that is not to be done the next time,
Over a period of time, you will have a truckload of wisdom on things that you know are not to be done (which you would have learnt through your experiences), and when you implement this wisdom day in and day out, your drafts will have all the right things it's supposed to have, enhancing it's quality automatically. You will be able to grow at twice the speed if you are also able to learn from the experience of others.
Please get out of this mindset that perfection is a destination you're supposed to reach. Real achievement is in improving yourself (even in the minutest of proportions) on a daily basis.
A right senior will guide you in understanding your mistakes and help you learn from them. He will never berate you or insult you for your shortcomings. I had a senior who was very tough on me and pulled me up for the smallest of my mistakes and made sure I learnt from them and never repeated it, while it did seem harsh then, he only wished the best for me which I realised later. Today when I'm extra careful and double check my work before sending it to anyone, all I have is gratitude for him. Because ignorance of smaller mistakes is the guaranteed highway to irreparable fuck-ups.
Make mistakes (not intentionally and carelessly) and please learn from them and never repeat the same one again. Make newer mistakes the next time. And if you've made a mistake, accept the responsibility for it (Just like Goldy Bhai does:))
Cheers!
Digital crisis is the new trend, so every tom, dick and harry are writting on it. Environment has been the trend for the last century, so every tom, dick and harry have written on it. Both are problems of the present and future.
To clarify; My master's was focused on digital rights, whereas my PhD was in ground water management. So I have experience in both topics. I enjoyed researching both. But now for a job I have to choose one.
As you can see, both are important issues, however both have a wide range of study and research. I can only choose one to write about for the next 4-5 years. Which should I choose ? How do I decide ?
1. Fresh Salaried Junior Partner: 80L - 1.2 crores PA.
2. Salaried Partner with experience: 1.5 - 2.5 crores PA. (Yes, salaried partners working in teams with high volume deals make upwards of 2.5 crores)
3. Fresh equity partner: 3 crores (Minimum) upto 4.5 crores.
4. Senior Partners: 5 - 8 crores.
5. Practice Heads: 8-10 crores PA.
6. Rainmakers: 15 crores + (Remember that this bracket constitutes a minuscule percentage of lawyers)

If I work under an AOR now for 1 year, will I be eligible to write the 2026 exam?
There's a difference between controversial and unpopular.
Ronaldo>Messi = Controversial
Football was better with tricky wingers than it is with Goal scoring strikers. = unpopular
Not every controversial opinion is unpopular but almost every unpopular opinion is controversial.
My unpopular opinion is : Lawyers that pick a random aspect of a conversation just to add something constitute the majority of profession.

What kind of person thinks that a lawyer can be arrested for contempt of court instead if his client, the actual contemnor???
When we have so many bright NLU students in India, why are such people editing legal articles on Wikipedia?

After the meeting, review the identified action points.
During the meeting, try to take something tangible β cards, firm profile, practice profile etc.
Extend an invitation that youβd like them to introduce the client to other partners in the firm.
Lastly, based on their interests and area, try to introduce them to relevant service providers - such as investors, investment bankers, sponsors etc.
