If you want to learn how courts function, it is a great place. You can just chill, roam around HC, meet your college friends, and just update as the display board updates.

But if you want to learn actual litigation don't even bother. Drafting work is there, but there is nobody to oversee, or make sure you learn, since everyone else is busy.

Bits is overall trying really hard to get good students, they have had a decent internship placement cycle, having law firms and general counsels offering internships directly to the law school. We have had legal internships at Kelloggs, Nivea, Metro, Crisil and much more, law firms mae we had SNG partners and a few more again. Our next internship cycle will be the best one after we get in 3rd year law firms, very well known law firms tier1 and tier 2 are interested in giving internships directly through the college. Pretty excited for that honestly. Our 1st years in this summer cycle will also be interning under a few tier 2 law firms and under in house general counsels.
So more or less internships are not a problem.

Coming to academics, its extremely rigorous you will def bawl your eyes out. They have extremely high standards for checking and getting like a 55 out of 100 in a subject means youre doing great. Scholarship students are the most mentally affected students since their minimum criteria to keep the scholarship is 65/100 which is EXTREMELY difficult.
Overall the college is struggling in making a culture, but with the new batch coming in we expect that many students will be in the campus and that would add on to more activity participation in campus thus leading to cultural built up in BITS.

Overall the college is s great choice if you have the budget for it. Because financial pressure along with the scholarship pressure would hurt you mentally a lot. But, if you're up for it then your choice.

One good thing about the college is that, unlike most law school toxicity, most of the students in bits aren't insecure about their careers, they are chill and this means you wont be having toxic competition but more of a healthy competition with your peers, seniors will always be more than reachable no ragging no bullyin in college takes place its a chill college with chill people.

But, the social sitaution would be yours to handle, because that is not in anyone's hands.

Now are students satisfied? well actually yes, but also no because since its a new college and we have been a batch of less than 300 students we were run through administration experiments on a spectrum to be tested.

Unlike us, that won't happen to you'll because then will have more students and then studetns will be given autonomy for decision making, atleast thats what we believe should happen.

More or less, BITS surpasses NMIMS and AMITY any SENSE. But please make sure you're not quite literally taking an education loan. Its actually extremely expensive, and its fees has an increment of 8% every year.

You wouldn't want to graduate with an education loan of 75-80 lacs to fill in.

4. Universities need to have support systems in place for out of office hours needs as well. For example, partnerships with mental health hotlines.

I had gotten a PPO from one of the lower paying T1 firms last year but I rejected since I had conviction that I will make it to either Trilegal or KCO. Now I have been rejected by both Trilegal and KCO. The HR of my older firm is not reverting back on my request to consider me again. My grades have dipped a lot too, I don’t think I got a shot Day 0. Hello, I gave clat in 2020 and was in a similar situation, jindal was not an option for me as well because of the cost. I decided to join one of the private colleges you have mentioned as a backup and then went on to give MHCET, got into GLC. Since GLC at the time had relaxed attendance requirements, students could intern and secure placements (I am also placed at a T1 firm). Currently the best way forward would be to take up a backup private college and give your best shot at Mhcet. Ideally choose ILS over GLC, because their administration and curriculum seems to be better than GLC rn and because GLC also has strong attendance requirements now.

Also make sure whichever college you end up in, stay in the top 5/10% of the batch depending on the batch size, because that will ultimately help you secure desired placements.

Since the state is what has the real and effective power to influence every aspect of our life. Literally every second student you see at an NLU is facing mental health issues: stress, depression, panic, loneliness, sadness etc. I confess that I too have such issues, as a mere first year. You make fair points honestly. But I'm still concerned about the fact that a large amount of people might not be interested in civil discourse of any kind. There's also the problem that some people will inevitably have a higher voice by virtue of having higher capital (think social media companies pushing agendas etc or censoring opposing viewpoints and lobbyists) I'm not saying this bill can necccesarily solve any of that but I do think we are going to need some form of regulatory catalyst to make sure that some voices aren't unduly priviliged over others
