Take the Batch of ’28, for instance. They're doing great, literally everywhere you look, there's someone from their batch winning a moot, getting published, grabbing top internships. Their batch rank list is impressive, and collectively, they're a solid, high-performing bunch.

Then comes Batch of ’26. A great batch, really. They’ve got PPOs, solid competition wins, and actual depth when you talk to them. You don’t walk away thinking, “Wow, that’s a law student?”
But zooming out a bit, HNLU is definitely on the rise. People crib about the campus, but let’s be fair, we get single rooms from second year onwards, which is a blessing. Privacy, space, and everything you need to actually get things done if you want to.
The campus itself is massive, perfect for nighttime walks when the semester’s getting to you. Infrastructure is picking up. There’s a cafe now. Cultural events are happening almost every week. If you can set aside the usual dose of toxicity, which, let’s be honest, exists everywhere, life at HNLU is actually pretty great.
And now, when you scroll through LiveLaw or Bar & Bench, HNLU is there. Organizing events, getting noticed.
Comeback? No question. HNLU is the comeback kid.

No, the streams are not merit based. You can choose whatever you like.
Which stream is highest scoring? Well I can tell you by experience that the lowest scoring is BA, even I had humanities and thought it would be a better option but it was a mistake.
BBA/Bcom would be a good option and if you don’t want to go near business or accounting subjects then go with the safest, tried and tested BSW.
And no, streams are not a deciding factor for your placements. Nobody cares about your stream. But they do care about your rank which is based on your marks which is based on…you get my point.

If there is someone who has genuinely helped you out or who has been a positive influence on your career, and you feel the uncontrolable need to respond to this (because after all, one must respond to something!), leave their names right out and treat this as one of those "wrong answers only" type of gimmics, by naming the one who tried to destroy your career (but not saying that they tried that), but give the impression that they tried to help. For those new to LI, here's why: if one person says person x is nice, 40 people will jump on that by mass-downvoting, 20 people will take it to the next level by posting comments that attempt to rip the person's reputation and character to shreds and a further 10 will attempt actual character assassination, by accusing the one praised as being nice of everything from bullying, to BDSM, to espionage, to incendiarism. Of course, if it's a nice night for it, they will try to get away with Nazism as well. It isn't LI's fault, that's just how gossip blogs are.
Therefore, if you name the ones who were horrible to you as though they were the transformational guiding light in your professional lives, then we can turn this to our advantage and have those persons given the reputational thrashing that they deserve!

Now, if you are done with all the BS, stop overthinking about this. Do me a favour. Read 100 pages of anything that challenges your brain, every day, for the next two months and make it a habit. You will rule law school.
Living conditions might not be great at NUJS but they are manageable. Over 600 people are living on campus through the year without dying, so you'd be fine. If choosing a better campus was a factor then everyone would be rushing to Jindal and not NLUs.
People with a better rank obviously choose NUJS over NLUJ. I am not outrightly saying one is better than the other, but one is more favoured by the outside world than the other.

If your average percentage is 60 and above, but below 65, then your options narrow slightly. I'd say UCL and LSE certainly go out the window, for sure in that scenario.
PS: What do you want the LLM for? Ain't gonna help in commercial law firm jobs in the UK, maximum helpful for academia. A UK LLM is quite expensive, and is going to get even more expensive, especially if the UK government's proposal to impose a 6% tax on foreign students' tuition fees on the universities goes through (and this excludes increases the unis themselves implement on a yearly basis). They are likely to pass those fee-increases onto the students, rather than absorbing it through savings and other "efficiencies".
