Hi, As a 5th year student who has gotten multiple callbacks and offers, I could help you,

1. Callback internships are essentially second chances for an additional period or month, so the team could assess your work. Many firms explicitly call them assessment internships, which are literally assessing you for the job position. Others may just consider it an additional extension of sorts. If you are in a team that actively hires freshers and you are currently in the 4th/ 5th year, it might mean you have a chance at the offer.

2. Offers are contingent on the team partner's feedback. Could be the equity partner, mostly. They wouldn't make an offer if they aren't hiring obviously. However, some partners may provide good feedback if your work was really exemplary and you may be absorbed in another team. However, I do not think another team would make an offer without actually assessing you. Maybe you have a chance at the placements then with the feedback. Finally, if your feedback itself isn't the best, none of this would work out..

3. GC and M&A are the same team in most firms. You have to understand hiring at law firms is very partner run, they are willing to cross procedures if the partner has a strong leaning on someone. Please speak to the partner in your team (the senior most in case of multiple partners, something common in GC). If they have your back, you have nothing to fear.

The pause is not just on setting up new law schools, but also bars new courses and expansion of intake. This should be a signal for courses like the ordinary BA at NLS and IPM in NALSAR - not even related to law - and a humongous expansion of seats (like NLS). Some state NLUs neh toh dukan khol ke rakh li hai.

Stupid to compare NLS (or even any other top5-6 NLUs) with SLSP. SLSP has never been considered that good or it’s definitely not in the league of places like NLUD or NALSAR/NUJS. And I speak from experience of having spent a year at SLS before retaking the CLAT/AILET and moving to a tier-1 NLU. The quality of students and faculty is vastly superior and transformative.

Option 4 (if let's say all goes to shit, cause nothing is predictable) then litigate, you'll thank me in 10 years, litigate, work hard, build it from the ground up, then you can rain money based on how well you establish your reputation and clientele. In all honesty, you can be employed as a litigator as a worst-case scenario; you have a law degree at the end of the day, your degree is a very useful one.

But yeah, it may feel like a losing battle initially, but again, you wanna live for the next 60 + years, right? It's the journey and not the destination. Litigation will pay in the long run, likely far more than corporate.

Hello I want to know whether the career in commercial litigation is more rewarding in terms of money at especially district courts or not than criminal and civil as the pecuniary jurisdiction is only limited to 2 crores at district courts so I don't think any lawyer can get fees of more than 10 lakhs at district court but in criminal cases lawyers can even get 50 lakhs and secondly is commercial litigation more lucrative than insolvency if we consider both of them as different?

Which 3rd grade private university at a remote local area are you talking about ? No decent university is providing "online" coursework, or "hybrid" or so called "distance" PhD.

I am currently at a Tier-1 NLU and we were required to physically attend coursework and examinations, this included part-timers. After which we didnt go to the university at all.

Most of my seniors or batchmates are in NLUs, JNU, DU, BHU, IITs, IIMs and none of them did their coursework online. Everyone attended the classes physically and then fkd off to their respective fieldwork or teaching duties.

If you're planning to do a PhD, I would suggest first read the UGC guidelines on PhD. Don't make a mockery out of yourself.

Please provide the exact document where this is available. Stop spreading misinformation. UGC does NOT allow hybrid, distance or online PhD programs. Only part-time is allowed, provided you submit an NOC. If you're getting a PhD degree in so called hybrid mode, your degree is liable to be cancelled.

Show me the exact ruling, regulations or notification of UGC to back your "hybrid" claim.

No Phd program is allowed to provide online coursework ! Physical classes are only for coursework, it's examination and subsequently a final presentation to RAC for proposal acceptance. After this you don't even need to attend the university unless you're a RA, TA or personally want to use the resources of the university. You may leave once coursework is done, and stay in touch with your advisor.

Stop spreading misinformation. We are not living in COVID times. Every university that provides a PhD requires physical presence for coursework. It's upto the university whether that coursework is one week, one month, one semester or one year.

Maybe you're not aware, even "part-time" PhD students have to attend the mandatory coursework in PHYSICAL mode. They're no concept of any "online" coursework, even for them.

Also, there is no DISTANCE -MODE PhD. The moment you enroll in so called distance mode PhD, your degree is void and cancelled. There's already a clear cut judgement on "distance mode" PhDs.

Hell, even IGNOU, the most popular distance mode university conducts its PhD physically in their campus at Maidan Garhi.

Our teams are tighter and constant checks from leaders on costs / salaries- while team members also would want to leave for better salaries/ career aspirations. So, it is NOT just you. Any team leader of professionals would be under similar stress.

Both are very lightweight devices. Apple’s ecosystem will allow you to carry your iPad to court and use your Mac in office. Watch a few videos on how the two devices work together and see if the ecosystem will be helpful for your workflow.

Plus, you will be able to use LiquidText - an iPad exclusive app that will make your life so much easier when it comes to reading through bulky documents and briefs.

I would not suggest you to opt for solely an iPad because the iPadOS just isnt capable of multitasking like MacOS. While Apple is bringing in new multitasking features, it is still far from perfect and will cause unnecessary micro-frustrations everyday. On the other hand, would not suggest you to only go for a Mac because using it in courtrooms is a little weird and cumbersome.

Next, I suggest you go for the 24gb variant of Macbook Air. I find that it uses close to 16-18 gb of ram in regular day to day usage (bunch of Chrome tabs, word files, excel, PDFs, whatsapp, mail, video calling and some more). Given its an expensive purchase, 24gb will definitely future proof your device.

For the iPad, the regular, basic version with 128gb storage is good enough when combined with a Mac. No other tab in the market comes close to iPad in terms of performance, regardless of what the companies might want you to believe. Get a cheap 2k apple pencil dupe from Amazon. You do not need the real thing.

The suggested devices will cost you approximately 1.6 lacs in total, but I feel they’re so so so worth it in the longer run. You can easily not upgrade your tech for the next 5-7 years.

Lastly, if you’re a clumsy person, I would recommend setting aside 3-5k in an RD every month, instead of buying AppleCare upfront. Its not cheap in India and you still have to pay a lot of service fee even if you have it. You might as well have some funds set aside for repair. IF something happens to your tech, you can use these funds without feeling too much financial pressure. And if nothing happens, the money can go towards your next tech upgrade.
