Short version 👇
- NUJS → Best overall reputation + top placements. Pick this if career outcomes matter most.
- GNLU → Best balance of good placements + modern campus + decent lifestyle.
- NLUJ → Best campus life (single rooms, calm environment), slightly weaker placements than the other two.
Default advice:
👉 NUJS > GNLU > NLUJ
If you tell me what you care about most (placements vs campus vs city life), I can flip that order for you in one line.
Congrats for the PPO.
Jo bhi ho jaisa bhi ho
I don't know why people obsess over Tier 1 firms like they are their buddies and have their best interests at heart.
Tier 1 firms are no doubt amazing but can we pls for god's sake stop this god complex disease in this profession.

No salaryslips given by my previous litigation office (of an aor). The salary was inconsistent and at times I was paid in cash. I had asked my senior in the office about the same, even he does not get salaryslips. I left the office to relocate to another city, where i have a few interviews lined up in non-litigation offices. However, I was given an experience letter by the office.
Will i be asked to show my salaryslips? How should I go about telling them that my office never gave me the slips? Can anyone give me any solutions?

Given that the Gates scholarship has been awarded to many students working in the area of human rights and social justice (including NLU and Jindal grads) maybe some sort of statement would be apt?

SA- 27-35 lakhs
SP - 55-60 lakhs
“89. vii. We further direct that the experience of the candidate, which they have gained working as law clerks with any of the judges or judicial officers of the country, will also be considered while calculating the total number of years of practice.”
Pls reply
Last year placement wise as well, GNLU performed really good but others did the same as well. NUJS and NLUJ claimed a 90-100% placement record up until now because of a smaller batch size but atleast from this academic year NLUJ NUJS and GNLU have a similar batch size.
Any rec to change stuff up in Vacancy ?
Also how much is a different in students who maintain a batch rank of top 20 across these 3 colleges ?
“We would like to welcome you on board (virtually) from…
Any change in mode of internship would be communicated closer to your date of joining.”
can someone who has already interned OFFLINE confirm whether this was in their mail? i was assuming after virtual onboarding, it would be an offline internship only?
Now I wish I could have made other choice, this college is hellhole
A lot of things are floating around, so first-hand experiences from students/alumni would be super helpful.
Has anyone done this before.
Please let me know!
This is not for a bachelor's course.
The craving for validation amongst lawyers at the moment is shocking.
I know people who cannot afford to buy a house but are buying luxury items to somehow convince their peers that they have arrived.
Irrespective of what someone else is doing, we need to cut the noise and focus on work and family.
One is always busy sucking up.
Ome actually does decent work.
The legal issue is simple:
1. Whether natural justice is being followed
2. Whether natural justice can be waived in some cases
3. Whether GCs, being a numerical minority in colleges post 50% reservation, can face discrimination also.
But the complex question is the electoral politics. In India, 30% UCs vote for BJP and 18% Muslims vote for Congress/opposition. This makes the 50% SC/ST/OBC vote a swing vote. The BJP has swayed enough of them to win (especially non-Yadav OBCs and EBC/Mahadalits). To secure this vote further it enacted these rules. But the GCs felt it was a witch-hunt against them. So a battle between two competing voting blocs.
The big winner could be Rahul Gandhi and the Congress. I firmly believe that Rahul will be the next PM. Modi is finished.
At the end of the day, government jo chahegi wo hi judgement aana hai.
I’m a 2025 law graduate from Tamil Nadu. Right after college, I joined a US immigration law firm, where I currently work. While the exposure has been good, I’m planning to transition back to Indian law within the next year, since I don’t want to stay too long in a niche that may become irrelevant for Indian practice.
During law school, I did multiple internships in IP/media law (both advisory and litigation side), and I’m now seriously considering Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) as my long-term practice area in India.
Before making the switch, I want to prepare myself better by doing TMT-focused internships, preferably remote/virtual, alongside my current role.
I had a few questions and would really appreciate guidance from seniors and practitioners here:
1. 1. Do Indian firms (especially TMT/media teams) take remote interns, particularly graduates or recent graduates?
2. 2. Are there any specific firms / boutiques / teams I should be targeting for TMT internships?
3. 3. Is transitioning into TMT at this stage a sound career decision given my background (US immigration + IP/media internships)?
4. 4. Realistically speaking, if I build strong TMT-specific skills, are firms actually hiring lateral juniors in this space?
Any insight on how to position myself better, what skills to focus on, or mistakes to avoid would be extremely helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Have saved like 25k-30k each year since i’ve gotten this card.
millennia is also nice
C&M is arguably the only firm in India that genuinely specialises in competition and company law disputes—disputes being the operative word. The only other firm that once fit this profile was Gaggar. However, the main man, Mr Gaggar, is now a designated Senior Advocate, and it’s unclear what remains of the firm as a disputes practice.
Specialist firms have existed in India far longer than we like to admit. Anand & Anand is a specialist Tier-1 firm in the IP space. Hon’ble Ms Justice Pratibha M. Singh ran a specialist IP practice prior to her elevation. Vinod Dhall ran a specialist practice in the competition law advisory space. Obhan pre-merger was a Patients first firm.
On salaries: as a disputes-first firm, C&M’s junior-level compensation will never compete with Trilegal, SAM, CAM, or Khaitan at the A0/A1 level. That said, there is significantly greater scope to negotiate a larger share of the spoils for “business you originate as an equity partner”, compared to a large, full-service Tier-1 firm. The reason is simple. This is a semi-family-n-feins -run firm—lean, tightly structured, and without the insane operational overheads of firms like the aforementioned T1’s. Which, quite plainly, leaves more to go around…
Let’s have more intelligent conversations going forward. Please!
would you happen to know about the PPO process?
