We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

How do you even get to this level through litigation? What do you even do with this much money?
1. His father was a senior advocate and an MP of Parliament. He comes from wealth, so this wealth is not the result of toil in one generation.
2. He is/was a sitting MP himself with deep connections in political and corporate circles, which helps him earn more than possible ways - brokering deals, getting good deals/investment options at a cheap rate.
3. His father's connections helped him become one of the youngest Senior Advocate of our times, plus he also rose from the backing of the Rajasthan Bar lobby.
4. His investments must have compounded to help him amass such wealth.
That said, please understand that he has, through his sheer talent and hard work, reaped the benefits of all the privileges available to him. He is one of India's finest litigators at present and a sitting MP who also fulfils his political duties. For me, personally, he is at a zenith of functioning, which is very difficult to achieve for mere mortals like us and no doubt an inspiration for the younger generation.
If you receive partnership distributions of 30 crores a year for 10 years, you would receive 300 crores (mostly after tax, since the partnership pays a significant portion of the tax before distributions). You would have had 10 years’ worth of living expense (say 10 to 15 crores in total at that income level), leaving you with a balance of 285 to 290 crores. And then you have investment returns on that money as well.
Top non-founder equity partners (not average or every equity partner) in T1s with 200 crores+ net worth is eminently possible (even probable).
Compared to that AMS donated Rs 15 cr from personal funds to Jiggles. I think he may have donated some crores earlier too. Anyway AMS and CR went on AMS donation sponsored trip to Japan, addressed the Diet there et al.
While folks at NUJS and even Bangalis (who suddenly matter to Kindness Co) may cry foul but it's just pointless bleatings of the sheep. Kindness Co have bigger fishes to barbecue and AMS is certainly invited to that party.
You should only compare AMS’s pure commercial practice when you compare with Ashwath or Cyril or Zia. That is a fair comparison. AMS could still be ahead, but the margin will reduce significantly.
Don't even compare these corp lawyers to top counsels. nobody knows corp lawyers but everyone knows the likes of AMS, et al.
thank me later.
I'm actually curious about how much do MP's of Karanjawala & Co and Aggarwal Law Associates earn per year and what are their net worth considering they have the majority chunk of filing in the Supreme Court.
