We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

There's little faculty involvement in the hostels, with the wardens handling their day-to-day functioning. However, for any changes or accommodations, the faculty members incharge are fairly quick to act. This, of course, depends on the reasonability and ease of implementing such change/accommodation. You'll also see them if you ever have the misfortune of being caught with prohibited materials in your room. The mess committee faculty members are by far the most responsive, where you could even see requests being acted upon during the meals themselves. There have been a few mishaps, but I choose to blame that on running an operation this size. Sports see heavy faculty involvement all throughout the year and they're some of the most approachable people on campus. Mostly reasonable people.
The amount of effort you put in also depends on the reputation of the journal. Some really famous journals are incredibly hard to publish in and the effort must match their standards, but in a lot of mid tier journal, the aim should ultimately be to get your foot in the door.
Most journals have a pre screening and a first review process which is usually the hardest to cross, but once you get past this, it becomes a lot easier and even if your research paper requires substantial changes. Post this, the editorial board would also play a large part with the author to ensure that the paper is of a publishable standard.
Ensure that there's a clearly laid out argument, good command of the language, well structured and good use of resources. Do not submit your college projects as is and expect it to get published, it's one of the easiest things to reject.
All the best
Malayalam is prefered over english in all kinds of gatherings like fests, student discussions, faculty interactions with the students, etc. It is very difficult for the non-mallus to have any kind of involvement for inter-college or inter-state fests in the long run.
This was a serious problem I have noticed my seniors have faced too and unfortunately it only seems to be getting worse. There seems to be no possible change/remedy.
The non-mallu alumni can only recommend against joining such a university which does not function on the lines of an NLU nor does it deserve an NLU tag considering the inefficiency of the NUALS Admin.
2. UPSC/State PSC
3. Start a business
I am a recent graduate and was thinking of assessment at Bridge Policy Think Tank, New Delhi. Can someone give reviews about the work culture, kind of work, salary for freshers, and any other important information about it? I want to enter the field of legal policy. Can this be a right place to start and what are the career prospects?
Thanks.
There was a NIMLAC thread in LI a while back and the prop is ready (has been for 2 years) and the students are ready to work but the admin never gives a green light. They always say that there's no funds everytime but the budget always shows allocation for the moot. God knows where our fees are going!
On the other hand, smaller and less established NLU-affiliated journals are more accessible. While the editorial process is rigorous on paper for most of these journals, it's seldom followed. So, landing a spot in their pages is comparatively more achievable, as long as the submission is not absolutely trash.
I will be surprised if you are able to draft the waterfall, even the simple 2/20 one.
I will be surprised if you will know what you can or cannot sell to LPs.
I will be surprised if you will understand the tax implications in this structure.
I will be surprised if you will know what your managing partner will be able to sell during fund raising.
Pentagram will happen for sure, hopefully better than last time.
Any Trilegal team not worth working for.
And dont be fooled by their "guaranteed bonus" and "highest salaries"promises.
i reckon it was a mixture of ganja and the pink paint on the corridor
If the BJP loses, there will be a crash. There always is, when they suffer an electoral setback. Use that time to buy. Stocks will bounce back.
I've done rent vs. buy calculations. There is a point in time when renting makes sense, and there is a point in time when buying makes sense. Ceteris paribus, if you can afford it, buy it.
It is definitely possible without family wealth, especially if you put in the effort, plan diligently, and don't spend time giving foolish motherhood statements on LI.
Secondly, so you don't really have any argument in favour of exactly where NLUD is doing better other than your staunch belief that it is. In which direction is it "ferociously growing" exactly?
Clarks are one of the best brands out there, if you consider availability in India. Much more comfortable than Hush Puppies.
A good pair should cost around 4-7K. I've been using mine for 5 years now, and with basic shoe care, it still looks very professional.
If you're really very seriously interested in law then pursue Company Secretaryship. It's like 60% law and 40% accounting, finance and management. Your BBA might help you in the 40%, but for the rest, you have to give your best. Later on, you can do LLB along with CS articleship, which is done by many CSs. All the best.
This is the best route one should take to land a good job in the corporate world if one already has a UG degree, especially in a commerce-related field.
What a sad place

If you want a watch to not carry around phone all the time, take any random one, they all count steps pretty well. Do not depend on their BP or heartbeat monitor or anything else.
All 'smart'watches are the same China imported and rebranded shit if under 5000, even above those are pretty bad with their UI and functionality. I bought a zebronics one a while back and its okaish, nothing mind blowing. Counts steps well.
There's nothing destroyed which can't be build over again.
I guess you are in 2nd or third year. I was disappointed just like you. I improved my grades over the years, Halleluijah. You don't know what's gonna happen in future. Even this year, I heard that a student with a comparatively low GPA got the job surprising everyone. Unfortunately, other students did not get it, but things are improving and few more companies might come till the end of this year is what I have heard. Just keep on studying. Do your best! If not corp jobs something else will turn up. I know my friends with multiple year losses getting jobs (not saying that they are bad or below you), so keep your hope alive. Also, don't give up on placements (if that's what you really want) till Day 1. After that too, keep applying but also start looking for other options. That is, if you really want corp job. There is something out there for all of us. Don't worry, just do your best! Isaiah 40:31;)
The screen touch and size is perfect, steps are accurate, fairly accurate for cycling as well. Not accurate at all for swimming. But no other real competitor in the lower budget range. Garmin is good too but insanely expensive compared to mi.

Surprisingly, he was a kind person who kept his promise, and perhaps because of him, I secured the PPO. After that, I began avoiding him, but he noticed and asked to meet in the cafeteria for 5 minutes. There, he reassured me that I didn't need to avoid him. He knew I pursued the relationship for the PPO, yet he helped me because he believed I deserved at least the chance.
Returning home, I felt like a monster. Now, three years later, we work for different law firms, but I will always be grateful to him for his assistance.

Suppose a good lawyers who has never done a consumer matter gets a consumer matter now. How will he go about it. Will he read the bare act first ? Or Join someone working in consumer law in the case ?
It is difficult to read after we leave law school, is reading on our desired area in law school the only solution ? If that is true then How do we expand our practise area?
Gross pay at DJS Rs.1.5L to 1.6L (with or w/o accom)
