Also if you know sexual harassment needs no intention
Also this is clearly mental cruelty, and considering the recent judgements I don't think it's hard to expect a hard divorce decree with the husband refunding that trip amount
Men after marriage- care for parents, go with his parents, no trips or movies, kids, kids, kids

So, it's now been nearly 6 years and 13 hearings have taken place. We seem to be 3-4 hearings away from concluding the written submissions. Optimistically , one hopes this will be done by 2025 and the arguments and cross-examinations will be completed within 4-5 years after that, and a verdict reached by 2030. π€

Um...ok. But this is what the website shows:
https://jii.jgu.edu.in/
- Director of JII is Prof Sreeram Chaulia. A known BJP supporter who has written pro-Modi books and comes on Republic TV. The website landing page even has photos of Chaulia with BJP ministers Jaishankar and Hardeep Puri.
- Advisory board has Salvatore Babones. Again, a known Modi supporter who comes on TV and supports Modi. Also important are the omissions. No Ramachandra Guha, Gilles Verniers, Christopher Jaffrelot, Jean Dreze, Jayati Ghose, Nivedita Menon, Siddharth Vardarajan, N Ram etc.
- The vision statement of JII says: " JII is meant to intellectually decolonise the study and depiction of India. Today, while India is fiercely independent and protective of its strategic autonomy, there is still a tendency among many to look up to Western educational institutions for intellectual affirmation, approval and disapproval of what India is and where it is heading. JII aims to break the intellectual hegemony of India being other-defined and usher in a culture and practice of high-quality research, analysis, policy advocacy and trainings that enable a self-defined and self-confident India to emerge as a world leader."
This seems to be coded RW rhetoric. One of the BJP's biggest taking points is that there is a "colonial" bias against India exhibited by both the West and Indian intellectuals. The "decolonisation" rhetoric has found its way in J Sai Deepak and Arghya Sengupta's books.
Note also the talk about India being a world leader etc. No talk about problems facing India and criticisms of the Modi government.
Also, this comes amidst a series of questionable acts at Jindal, such as disciplinary action against Prof Sameena Dalwai, writing a letter criticising Prof Achin Vanaik and expanding in STEM subjects rather than social sciences.
Is it the case in other countries too?
If you want a decent work life balance, stability in work and are okay with less pay then you can totally consider. However if you wish to grow as a professional and earn well then stay away.
1st chose law
And then litigation.
You might have gone for an in house job.
Most firms prefer giving assessment internships to students who have previously interned or through rcc.
Please suggest any firm that gives assessment to first time interns in final year. Any lead will be helpful
Thanks
Without Tier 1 firms, India's GDP year on year will be minus (-) 10% and we would revert to the Stone Age.
All hail corporate lawyers.
Proof that youth makes you rebellious and leftist, age makes you conformist and right-wing.
Guys more or less, but random shit like sing songs, make a train (lining one after the other) and dance around, but this is never extreme.
And at the risk of overemphasis, there is a rule of "uncomfortable" at nalsar - if you are uncomfortable by any interaction with the seniors, you can just state you are uncomfortable and leave.
Future tier wise ranking:Tier 1: NLSIU
Tier 2: Nalsar, Nujs, NLUD
Tier 3: NLUJ, GNLU, NLIU, HNLU
Tier 4 & 5: other nlus
Would network shamelessly
Would've been far more cold and calculating
If I don't retain any of the knowledge about the profession, what's the pint of going back in time?
Recently I saw a post on how opaque and subjective the NLS PhD process is, and how it ultimately depends on the whims and fancy of the VC.
Is it the same for NALSAR ? Does the PhD process only favour ex-NALSAR, people with experience or with a tier 1 background?
I hope someone who comes from a non-nlu and joined NALSAR could help shed some light.
But no-one can force someone into it. For it to be successful, the person needs to be willing.
Rich MPs: No tax.
Rich businessman routing money through Mauritius: No tax.
Salaried class: Taxed to the eyeballs.
Why is it so? Will it be different this year because of elections?
The ironic part is that the educated middle-class (Hindus at least) are loyal BJP supporters, yet they are not given any benefits.
I think there are really only three major reasons why anyone would want to redo law school: 1) poor academic performance, 2) lack of participation in co-curriculars, or 3) poor decisions which affected their social life or networking opportunities. My law school journey so far hasn't made any of these things be true for me.
Learning subjects in one order or the other wont sway your political orientation just as much as eating entrees before appetisers will change the calories you consumed. Please stop treating students like idiots. There is a free marketplace of ideas and they can choose what to believe- and they will change what they believe as they grow. If there is suppression of any political ideas on universities that is a problem we can discuss, but this and all is nonsense. Left wing orientation doesnt happen by and large because people dont have jobs. They have pretty socialist governments in scandinavian countries where people are very employed. And theres a lot of unemployed right wing folks.
Mostly people lean to the left because the left makes a moral case that is appealing on identity, workers rights, inequality, and poverty. No one is choosing to stay unemployed because of their left wing orientation either. at least not in a poor country like india. Make a better moral case. The left is vulnerable on a lot of that stuff- how we resolve problems of identity or inequality or poverty or provide for workers rights- capitalists have good answers to that stuff sometimes. But they never make it. Even more polarizing issues- abortion for example- right wingers have a good moral case on that- they just dont make the good moral case. Instead of questioning the value of life and whether there might be better options than abortions right wing goes on to shame women for having sex or worse getting raped. Thats the problem.
If you find yourself on the losing end of an argument- improve your argument. This whole- indoctrinate them by making stupid changes to curriculum strategy is old and it doesnt work. Maybe in schools- but at universities? No way!
Yall are so polarised and inside your own bubble you have no idea how to even begin convincing someone who doesnt agree with you.
Most students who come in to law school arent firmly left wing in the first few years- most people as a whole are centrists- they change their mind because there are moral cases made by left wing scholars that students are exposed to. If you dont like that sociology for example is taught by predominantly left wing folks- go into sociology, get degrees, teach it. Economics certainly is not taught with any real left wing tilt. Neither is history or political science. You read lock and hobbes and smith and mill and a fair number of what would today be considered capitalist literature in all those disciplines. The right wing students on campus simply dont have the courage of their convictions to engage in argument or the interest and ability to make a case for people who disagree with them. Thats where you get in to trouble.
Being a lawyer can be so taxing and we don't even have weekends to ourselves
