We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.

Why doesn't reddit work for lawyers? Because you have to make multiple accounts.
Otherwise you can be easily tracked down by your law firm partner.
Extreme anonymity is the reason - people tell each and every gossip here. Otherwise careers could be ruined.
"Reports indicate that Sachdev is on a deal valued at around $60 million over three years."
"For Neel Sachdev, publicity and a star persona are all part of the deal. He was once named the sexiest lawyer and has a host of other credits to boast of."
All in all, a very useful surname to have!
Forget Salve and Abhinav Chandrachud. It’s in villages in Bengal where the CAA is playing a role .
Both of these depend on the feedback lawyers in the firm give you, some other assessment tasks and an internship end presentation.
First HS, then FS. I don't know if they are cynical power grabbers, or what sociologists call "Useful Idiots" (it's a specific term, not an insult. look it up)
Salve is making specious arguments only to give his political masters some fig leaf of respectability. His main job is to muddy the waters, so people will think "Oh, the great Salve has spoken, our government is doing things correctly".
Everyone who has bothered to educate themselves about this topic already knows the issues. They tried to exclude people in Assam from the list of citizens, and found that they were also excluding their own vote bank. CAA is nothing but an excuse to say "we are using different standards for our vote bank when considering them as citizens".
It's good that Salve has made these arguments publicly. History will judge. History will remember. And history will not be kind to Salve.
Aisa kya mahanta ka kaam kiya hai aapne ki woh aapse shaadi karega/karegi? Literally do not understand the privilege people feel about themselves.
Go to ORN once. See the crowd. You will realize the quality of people aspiring for such jobs. And get out of this law bubble.

DYC's timely installation in the judicial conveyor belt was done by Ramjet with full BJP blessings. His every transfer/elevation etc was timed to perfection by Arunjet with full knowledge et al of the GOP and others.
Do not be surprised if DYC ends up in the ICJ or his chosen (including his children) become judges in future.
Originally aligned with the GOP (as was the Birlas) but once the Left came to power in Bengal, one of the Khaitans (BMK) struck a deep personal and business rapport with Jyoti Basu. That helped them "take over" several British and Scottish businesses (tea, construction, steel etc) when the Red plague swept through Bengal. Same story for the Goenkas.
After JB demise, the Khaitans already beset with internal squabbles and ill-effects of trying to whitewash Union Carbide (India) as Eveready, limped on. Elsewhere the side that went into legal field had also splintered. Despite switching allegiance to TMC, Khaitan businesses continued to bleed. Some connected Marwari business families pitched in but things haven't looked up. Allegations and investigations of funds diversion etc have also cropped up.
One of the Khaitan law firms is embroiled in a high-profile arms deal gone horribly wrong.
Advice on how to skill myself better for firms like Trilegal, Khaitan, Dua & JSA

SBI is already trying to argue (and RBI may join in) that disclosing further details will violate its "fiduciary duty" towards customers and thus shatter customer confidence, which could potentially lead to business losses etc. This is already a standard defense by the banks for most of the RTIs.
By the way, why hasn't the SC been this pushy about disclosure when it involved banks be directed to disclose the list of its loans that have gone bad/putrid or "evergreened"?
Contrast this with how the US abandoned its "native" allies in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Syria. Only the extremely fortunate and connected were able to get out and in minuscule numbers.
Not directly connected. But please read the book titled the "Blood Telegram". Whatever Nixon/Kissinger did was never undone by successive administrations.
Coming up next.
Grandpa "apologized" towards the fag end of his life that he should have ruled/conducted differently during Indira regime. That's rich after enjoying all the benefits, including having one of the longest tenures as CJI, whitewashing legacy and ensuring that succeeding generation receive the benefits of the "choices' made then. Fellow Mumbaite FSN also shed similarly timed tears over Bhopal as well.
DYC will also express academic regrets/remorse later. Son may just do it now depending on political winds. Or later.
As an independent practitioner, there is zero drama in life and the future looks like a fertile pasture.
If you think you can endure on a mere subsistential allowance for the first five years, do choose litigation. It is worth it.
I've got an interview scheduled with NDA and I've chosen tech law as my preferred area of practice. What can I expect?
Will this create any major change in corporate law landscape of India? Will other Indian firms follow suit if this dual qualification program succeeds?

requesting the mods to be more liberal and not police the supposedly "incendiary" ones, and allow for some actual debate/expression of displeasure in the comments. the upvote/downvote system exists, and if anything is especially "hate-speech" exists that gets a massive amount of downvotes, you can remove them.
