Always had a liking for legal education but given some family crisis, it looked impossible back then that's why went with physics ( science background and I was much more comfortable with it)
This year gave my first attempt and got into nalsar
1)What can I expect?
2)Will my age be a hindrance?
3)I still can pass for 19-20 so I am more concerned about intership chances and other job oriented oppurtunities.
4) which exams can I keep as a backup of I am not accepted in T1, T2 firms , ( no UPSC) given most exams have a age barrier like sebi or some psus

I am looking for guidance. I want to pursue corporate law in future and as of now I have secured admission at NUALS and Nirma. NUALS is on basis of nri seat so the fees is thrice the usual.
Should I opt for nuals or nirma, considering i want to do corporate?
Again, this is only an observation as a 30 y/o, so don't be very bothered by it. But I hope you all do work hard in the upcoming placement season. Good luck!
That being said, NUALS has a much smaller batch size than Nirma which means lesser competition. You will find a few alma doing good as well, especially in BLR offices of law firms. Also, having the NLU tag might give you a slight edge over a private uni.

Fable 5 was the first model from Anthropic that deviates from their data retention policy, allowing them to retain and review all prompts for a period of 30 days, making it completely unusable for most legal work.
Probably a good idea to see which vendors advertised support for Fable 5 when it came out last month (ex: August, Spellbook, Juris) and make sure you avoid them too.
They have taken interviews since March and now recently in June too.

Neither are firms interested in handing out PPOs to our students nor are they recruiting more than 2 per firm in Day Z making the entire mechanism a luck-based shitshow.
Factoring in their insane fees structure, its wiser to attend a local law college of Mumbai (if you are very adamant on doing law) since ROI would be much better there. Well since you have an option to pursue a Tier 1 Bcom degree do CA/CS/the likes for the legal market is doomed anyways (until you are nepo).
Regardless of whatever you aim to do, just DONT join SLS Pune or its other sub-standard branch. Trust me, any person getting placed at a good place was either a nepo or someone very lucky enough to make it through. Good luck!
To make it clear, I've researched on the salaries and perks and I'm pretty satisfied with it, atleast starting with it. And yes, eventually it gets slow, but if I'm able to make a transition to a law firm around that time, it might just be a good bet.
I would value: WLB and money to travel, that's about it.
A lot of you highlight that the future trajectory isn't that great, to that I 100% agree but if that's not how I want to do it then it is a con that I naturally avoid.

Newsflash: All of us find it hard to concentrate on boring work and get distracted easily when doing it and easy to "hyperfocus" on things we find it interesting. It's called being human. You don't have a mental illness.
The reason you get paid lots of money to do what is basically tedious clerical work as a lawyer is precisely because it needs to be done accurately even though it is boring.

When it comes to all these international institutions, politics and diplomacy is more important. International organisations will prefer a foreign University degree than an Indian one. Especially when it comes to international law. If you do a masters or phd or postdoc abroad, then that will get you appointments more easily than an NLS, Jindal etc. look at professors of India teaching abroad, you can definitely see some connections they had either masters or phd from an international institution. This is a lesson to all young lawyers and students. If you want to work or make a name abroad, just go abroad. A llb to phd in India makes no difference. So if you're a jurist, lawyer, academician, scholars and you want to make a mark abroad, just go. A fine example is BS Chimni, he did his masters and phd in India, and even though he's an excellent scholar and highly regarded twail scholar from India. People outside still prefer Anthony anghie because of his Aussie and Singapore connections.
People cheat. This system is extremely flawed and only rewards "attending" sessions and "scoring" right to get the useless TAPs. have you considered the possibility that people are sitting around in groups and doing these tests together? none of us are learning anything from KM, except the best way to evade this crap. if you're actually giving us marks and treating us like children, might as well do it such that people can't cheat. All the current system does is maintain appearances of knowledge management.
Also, if we are on leave, don't make us jump through 3000 hoops to get the TAPs.

Litigate - court craft is difficult for AI to pickup or replicate (currently at least), or get into something folks are less attracted to like tax, white collar, employment law or real estate if you have to.
I know of a certain individual who would regularly order butter chicken and other expensive food and the restaurant bills would be paid by his equity partner or the client. Now that he has been made EP, he refuses to sponsor even evening snacks for his small team. Aaatte dal ka bhav pata chal gaya hai
Agree that cab expenses should be sponsored by the firm but partners should assess whether associates are wasting whole day and then sitting late. I know of some attorneys, even at partner level who start their day late, socialise like it’s their last day at work and then sit till late, then again come late the next day.. it’s high time we come across as dignified respectable professionals.
Bonus retention does seem unfair.
