I have decent grades and have done a handful of internships in decent tier II firms. Also have some moot exp and publications. I am applying for internships, but unfortunately find out the lack of vacancies or hiring freeze after interning already. I'd like to know which firms currently have vacancies or are likely to hire so I can apply accordingly. Please help a student out! TIA!
We have recently gotten a tad bit better after a slump but it is still bad.
Get a few t1 internships through placement cell and Deutsche and Stratage hire well due to tie ups.
Did well at an international moot for the first time came back with an award of any sorts.
It is not horrible but try for PGCL, GLC , SYMBI ETC.
Also just got a new campus for the following year onwards which is a lot better.
Also, one piece of advice: the people you will learn from at internships are associates and perhaps senior associates, not partners. So look out for firms with well-qualified, associates and senior associates: NLU grads, grads from decent universities who have done LLMs abroad etc. These people are also likely to be well-networked and with college batchmates in good firms across India, so they may also be able to recommend you to other firms across India. I factored this in while compiling the list.
Tier 1: KCO, Argus, SAM
Tier 1.5: Aquilaw (yes yes, I know the firm is controversial because of the TMC connection and looked down upon, but they get ALL the state government work and you will get to work on headline-grabbing cases β so donβt be swayed by critics!)
Tier 2: Fox Mandal (all the incarnations, LOL)
Tier 3: Sandersons Morgans, perhaps Victor Moses, maybe niche firms like Vipul Kundalia (NLSIU alum), S Majumdar (IP)
Tier 3.5: More niche firms: Maybe DP Ahuja and Davar for IP, a few tax firms
Tier 4: It gets pretty small and fragmented from here on, with most law firms having low reputations and limited CV value. Instead of interning with such firms, you might be better off interning with a solo advocate instead. If you donβt get a top-notch senior advocate, there are some good young lawyers practising. The other option is a company, like PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, ITC, Emami etc.
Because he is one of the most recognisable people in India today and he is still in his 20s. Because he is a master communicator. Because he played a huge role in the recent election result and could topple Modi in 2029. Because the youth absolutely swear by him and his popularity among our generation rivals that of the biggest Bollywood actors and cricketers.
So why not?
Class timings n all. Is it hectic.?
Which hostels are allotted?
Please tell. Thankyou sir
No university in India, except maybe JNU to an extent is left of centre, forget far left.
All universities in India, especially the elite ones are controlled and populated by the elite of India, they can never be far left, they never were. You have to be a special kind of delusional to believe they can ever be far left. For the ideology is antithetical to the existence of the average Indian top 1%.
All of the things you are calling far left, are a just at best centrist, or performative mildly left thinking.
All universities in India have neoliberal thought embedded into them, neoliberalism is right of centre.
What you are indulging is in fear mongering and playing victim as an average RW genius.
NLS has a couple of projects where theyre using AI but nothing enough to talk up to a national magazine so much.
if there is a better more optimal way of doing admissions- sure lets go for it. But I dont really see easy solutions. If anything I think the exam should be tougher.
Besides your law school doesnt determine your career. Many people fo to DU, GLC, ILS and do just fine in their careers.
Depends on the team, time of year, and number of employees.
In any case, the extent of exposure is unparalleled vis-a-vis delhi and mumbai.
Btw what's the cutoff score for BHU LLB?

Only few comments are helpful or good others nothing but shit.
Having said that, nobody has the right to hurt you physically. If they do so, defend yourself, and inform the authorities. This is not prison.
Recent hires from NUJS are getting paid 16LPA for corp team
No infra. Academically not as screwed as GLC though since there are mid term and end term examinations.
Recent batches are huge af. But people have managed to get placed at good places on their own.
Sources - former student and now in industry thanks to its wonder IP program.
Till then work hard.
You want help and reaching out to Alums
I secured internships by emailing out alumni as they were happy to help.
Yes alumni does help.
Chart wale chacha strikes again
The T2 NLUs know they are nothing great, but kids from NLSIU, NALSAR, NLUJ, NUJS, their entire identity revolves around them being from such college.. move on
Also which NLU?
Each morning, check in with the team by sending an attendance email and asking for work. Additionally, you can review archived emails to see who used your email ID before you and learn about ongoing deals or matters. This will help you understand the previous intern's working style, which you can follow or improve upon as needed.
Good luck!
That's the problem. Very tough to get into criminal law. Internships are also not easy to get.
But generally, they hire only experienced lawyers in the mid-senior levels. There are times you may come across vacancies for lawyers with 1-3 PQE and all, but it usually ends up being filled by someone with PQE at the higher end of the range provided.
The best bet would be to work in firms or partners that specialize in media & entertainment or TMT in general, build up your PQE and apply to these companies when the chance arrives. You will have skills in the specialized industry domain of media & entertainment, but I also recommend seeking out opportunities to gain experience in general corporate compliance work as well, sprinkled with a few employment contracts, and disputes (notices, replies, etc.) either by the work you get or through your research. The nature of work that makes up the bulk of your in-house work would be mildly routine. Figure out that routine and make sure your basics are strong, and then all your niche knowledge would be a bonus when applying for in-house roles.
Atleast, that's my plan. :) See you there!
Name a few.
How do you get in companies like Netflix as legal councel.
I think what he forgot is that they (usually (see King's College London's professional gutting of many of its non-commercial law module offerings and the exit of many of its law school-based criminology researchers, 2013 - 2014, as an example of an exception that proves the rule)) maintain a balance between jumping on a bandwagon and playing to their traditional strengths (teaching fundamental first principles), and, when jumping on bandwagons, they usually identify the right ones to jump on. Sudhir has done neither here. Sadly, I have now come around to the view that (what I like to call) 'the side of his brain that makes NLAT-type decisions' has become more prominent, and we are going to see the consequences of that in the next few years (if I'm not wrong, 2024 - 29).
IIT kgp campus is oldest , largest and has culture over more than 60 years . Interaction and activities within campus play huge role .
For Judiciary: Not good, because of location. Less Judiciary aspirants are there.
In IPR domain, alumnies of RGSOIPL are in good positions that helps in getting connection in IP domain.
Companies: Samsung, Bosch, TVS, Bajaj, Benz Mercedes,CAM SAM , K&K, Ericsson.
Note: Those who can't afford Jindal or Symbiosis fee may avoid it for a low cost law school be it NLU or GLC/ DU.
Regarding MNLU Nagpur and NUSRL Ranchi, I don't think they should be put in Tier 3 looking at huge mismanagement, financial crisis, faculty quality and placements.
