Things look bad, Iβm afraid. The only solution is NLU nationalisation. What NLIU could perhaps do is lobby through a powerful MP politician like Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Looks like Iran is going to attack any minute nowβ¦.

As the title suggests, just put in my papers at a T1. It's been a few years since I studied for an exam, so I'm quite nervous. But it's now or never. Any suggestions on preparing for the Law optional papers? Can't seem to find much material online (unlike the GS papers).
1. As it happens, I happen to believe that women are precisely the opposite of privileged. Biological women are a marginalised group, as are trans-women.
2. I am not getting into what the Italian boxer said.
3. I happen to not have the blinker on of thinking stereotypically about women. They can have as good reflexes, as significant strength, as biological males. They are disproportionately impacted by violence and other horrible things because of (a) entitled men who (i) think they can do; and (ii) are often allowed to do, whatever the fuck they want with women; and (b) because of useful idiots (of both sexes/genders) like you, whose minds are trapped in stereotypes.

I'm a third year student at Rank 13-14 (Tier 3 offc.) NLU. I come from a rural background and a first generation lawyer, with very middle class background.
So the problem is that, I'm getting an internship at Wadhwa's chambers. And prior to it, I don't have any in- office/on-site experience of interning.
As it's based in Delhi, so living there and spending a month. The timings of the office, travelling, where to live in a city like Delhi, how will be everything, the finance and so on... I'm feeling like stuck.
Should I go for it or not, I know that one day I've to step out. But then, please help me out how to handle this situation.
Thoughts like skipping the break and procrastination are coming. Considering I will be getting (only) 7 official breaks for internship, post this one. But then my "mind" says that anyway my ultimate goal is to go for judiciary, why even I'm going for it.
Don't know, please anyone suggest me something.
Does it happen with everybody, or it's just that I'm, not mature enough or, not serious with my career.
(Pls don't troll me on my writing and Grammer, I'm not able to correctly articulate, and not in a situation...)
This feeling is not going to go away; until and unless you regularly make appearance before court. Initially i started with civil litigation and then shifted to nclt and that change made me feel very insecure. I used to get nervous; while addressing the bench. What worked for me was that i stopped comparing myself with others and feeling bad about it; if i am in court i never miss my chance to observe other lawyers and counsels and learning from them. I always notice how others approach the bench. I have definitely learned different ways to address and approach the bench; according to the benches mood.
Whenever any lawyer mentions any judgment or order in their submissions; i write down the name of the same and read it later in the office. This has made me much more confident; while appearing in court. The most important thing is to stop comparing yourself with others; remember that you have to wake up with yourself everyday and comparing yourself with others is only going to make your life miserable.
And p.s.a. You donβt need to remember the name of judgments, also make handwritten colour coded notes for your submissions and read through it before every hearing.
One common thing in all this is that BA-LLB has lost its sheen, and NLUD knows this.
That said, the key takeaway from all this is that in general BA-LLB (Hons) has lost its sheen.
1. Don't try to do everything in your first year/ first semester itself. Remember, jack of all trades is a master of none. Pick one or two activities, attend the committee's orientation or workshop, and spend time on preparing for whatever work you do so that you can put in your best effort.
2. First year is too early to make any such decisions and even if you make them, your mind may change later on. As you get more exposure to law and legal practices, you will develop some interests and ideas. Generally around 3rd year is when this starts. Some people don't fully have an idea even in 5th year, that is also fine.
Saying males shouldnt be in womens sport is not excluding males from sport. Most males happily participate in male sport. And there are open categories. This is just my way or high way emotional blackmail. We've all been with a guy who claimed he would commit suicide if we didnt give him what he wants- You dont make policy because of threatened hurt feelings.
You have ZERO concern for the rights of natal women, for their right to play in fair sports and their opportunities and their basic physical safety. You think all of that should come second to the cause du jour- whatever oppression group you think is worse off. I bet you think women are privileged dont you?
Awarding handicaps wont stop women from being hit so hard that they get brain damage. Look it up thats happened. You have no leg to stand on. Theres a reason Angela Carini- say her name- shes not "the italian girl"- withdrew after 46 seconds. She said it- shes never been hit that hard in life- and shes an olympian. Shes been in plenty of matches with other women.
Your definition of progressive sure does sound like victim blaming disgusting misogyny. It is misogynistic and disgusting to claim that women who are beaten up by men are too weak, not made for sport, they dont have enough proof of violence- why isnt there more blood on her face- shes just a hysterical coward. She just made him look bad- ruined his reputation. All of that if you said that to a normal woman about a normal male you would think is disgusting. But the moment a male has a developmental disorder you think the women should be blamed?
Do you really think she went all the way to the olympics to give up in the first 46 seconds because women just are like that? Do you know how much work it would have taken? for a woman to make it to the olympics in boxing?
Even caitlyn jenner says he shouldnt be allowed in female sport. Youre so woke youve basically come out the other end as a misogynist.
You disgust me. You disgust all decent people who havent deliberately put blinkers on. Go apologise to your mom. Whatever illusions you have about being on the right side of history- start thinking of reasons why you think males beating up women for sport is a good thing.

Heard the place is cold and demanding tho.
And these days the BA component has anyway become a playground for woke indoctrination. The curriculum is lopsided in favour of left-wing scholarship. I wish we see a day when the BALLB is scrapped completely and all students take BBALLB and BcomLLB.
2. HNLU - consistently been in the upper half of tier II
3. MNLU - Last two years were breakout years, will consistently compete now + actual Mumbai advantage
4. NLU O - Placements are decent but everything else is.... questionable.

3. NLU Odisha
4. MNLU Mumbai

This is just SHOCKING. The alumni named must not only be immediately sacked but also imprisoned. Did this scam happen during BJP rule? If yes, why isn't the Congress taking it up? Rahul Gandhi must raise it in Parliament. Vice versa if it happened during Congress rule.
1. Aspirations for foreign placements
2. Possibility of getting good LLM scholarships
3. Good domestic placements
Indian sprinter Dutee Chand, who has been at the centre of a similar row in the past, has shared her perspective on the controversy.
"In 2014, I challenged the IOC's rule that a person with a higher testosterone level should not participate in the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland. It was noted that hormonal levels cannot increase athletic performance. I suffered a lot at that time. I faced a lot of controversy regarding my gender." Dutee Chand told PTI.
"Yesterday, during the Olympic match, (Angela) Carini gave up and now she is complaining about the Algerian boxer because of high testosterone levels. When you play in the Olympics, you undergo several tests. I don't think it is right to create controversy about this social media." she added.

I suggest you embrace the idea that it actually doesnβt matter if you do think youβre a loser. All that matters is what you do in the real world to help other people.
I hope this isnβt how you conduct yourself as a lawyer.

Exposure wise there are several think tanks and ngos, vidhi delhi, ikigai, trustbridge, nipfp which hire with bachelors degrees. ORF is another org, but harder to get into.
Ideally, law firm experience prior to joining public policy organisations helps a lot. Although, one might find it hard to quit a high paying law firm job to a public policy think tank (from financial perspective) without substantial interest. Further, there may be a glass ceiling in public policy organisations.
That being said, public policy work is indeed quite fulfilling, so it'd be a great idea if you enjoy researching for hours at end and writing.
not sure whether retiring or not feels unlikely to me
