Admissions to this program would be through AILET.

Views on introduction of a non-residential program in a traditionally residential university setting? (Considering the UG focused nature of the course).

Is it another money-minting gimmick or would it be actually practical ?

They can't have it residential because there is no hostel space left. Moreover, they will try to get students with influential relatives enrolled into this programme and then play fast and loose with the attendance requirements like GLC, so that those people can get a degree without a lot of daily effort.

Because NLUD does not want to compete directly with NFSU which offers BBA-LLB (Hons) in the Delhi campus, NFSU is powering its way through the education landscape, and with its ₹2254 crore government grant, it has the financial resources to do more.

That said, the key takeaway from all this is that in general BA-LLB (Hons) has lost its sheen.

So LOL again. Hiding your face in the sand does not make the matter go away. NFSU Delhi completely blunts NLUD's biggest advantage of location. Additionally, it does have to contend with being a state university. And this is just the start. Picture toh abhi baakee hai.

Isn't it obvious? NLUD (like any other state NLU) is plagued by incompetence, lack of funds, and over-enthusiastic students who try to prop up such paper dragons with laughable rhetoric. NLUD's new BCom-LLB (H) program is no different from WBNUJS' new BSc-LLB (H) or expansion of intake by NLS in the thought process - a desperate attempt to stay relevant and shore up finances.

In comparison, NFSU with ₹2254 government grant is garnering all the attention with its massive enhancement and expansion plans, and playing a central role in the national narrative.

Attention from whom? Good law faculty, no. And not even good law students. NLU students brag about their achievements because they have something to brag about. NFSU trolls don't have any achievement to point out other than government largesse or random MoUs that have yielded no result or output so far.

Seems like you didn't study in law school and now are blaming the curriculum. BA has political science which is the most important subject for constitution, human rights, international law etc. It has economics which is the base for majority of financial laws in the real world. It has sociology and psychology which again is the base for criminal and civil laws. So the fact that you only see Marx, Weber etc as BA subjects is a shame. Also topics like caste and justice system in colonial India does help in practice whether bar or bench, seems like you haven't read landmark judgements well. Moreover the fact that you emphasis on BBA or bcom shows what is evident that you're a capitalism stooge who only wants profit oriented mindset amongst upcoming youngsters. Enjoy being a corporate stooge whilst the society and environment crumble around you. What good is earning crores when your social and political fabric is below average. Remember the Bangalore water crisis? Corporate slaves earning crores having to stand in line to fetch water. Keep ignoring the social sciences and see how shitty your life becomes.

insider- don’t opt for it, they’ll most probably hire teachers from neighbouring ggsipu for this course and you’ll suffer with mediocity. look at recent nlud hiring which just seems to be extremely average incompetent profs. this university is not rising anymore, it’s failing with a lot of star fac expected to leave soon. placements are going to be a hassle, they’re anyway terrible here but more so with bcom llb- while you will set up your own rcc which can have access to the database of old rcc, it’ll be painful because of a lack of practice of running your own account.

They don't have a lot of star faculty left. Other than Anoop, there is honestly no great faculty at NLUD right now. Danny is decent as a classroom teacher and Yogesh is above average. That's all. Rai can no longer pull his weight in class and he has never been a research-oriented person anyway, though his industry experience is still useful.

NLUD diluting standards. This degree is only to make money like the AILET test they are conducting despite all NLUs accepting CLAT. NLU Delhi VC is not a visionary like Sudhir. He's just working hard to get a second term. When BALLB guys not getting placed, ridiculous to start BCOMLLB course.
