Also, i am not sure about whether i wanna go into litigation or corporate or judiciary etc. Do i need to make these decisions at this stage or can i make them later too?

1st year BBA LLB student
1. Don't try to do everything in your first year/ first semester itself. Remember, jack of all trades is a master of none. Pick one or two activities, attend the committee's orientation or workshop, and spend time on preparing for whatever work you do so that you can put in your best effort.
2. First year is too early to make any such decisions and even if you make them, your mind may change later on. As you get more exposure to law and legal practices, you will develop some interests and ideas. Generally around 3rd year is when this starts. Some people don't fully have an idea even in 5th year, that is also fine.
And associating with (good) seniors will take you a long way
1. Cultivate a habit of writing. Start with blogs, then once you gain confidence write for journals. Show your work to teachers and take their suggestions.
2. Study hard. Your grades matter.
3. Play a sport on weekends. If you are not very strong physically, you can consider shooting or archery at your nearest SAI facility. Even chess for that matter.
4. Avoid social media. Especially discussions where people mock lower-ranked NLUs (including on LI).
5. If your political views are non-left, then just keep quiet and avoid taking about politics, else you will be ostracised by the woke lobby. And if your political views are indeed left, then don't make your life all about politics. Instead of spending 2 hours protesting for Palestine, read a book or do yoga.
6. Avoid toxic people.
7. Try to date nice girls/guys, not mean girls/guys. Personality is more important than looks.
Social life as you wish to have.
So my advice would be to just keep quiet if you are non-left and avoid political discussions. Your political views can be exercised in the ballot box and in circles outside campus.
Also, let's remember that most NLU students swing to the right once they graduate and enter the real world --or at least the centre-left. So just have patience!
