I joined CAM 2 years ago after working at a non-tier firm for almost 3 years. The shift was made possible through my Partner's recommendations. Do not know about other hiring channels.
culture is just like any other transactions team, very high pressure. pay is similar to any tier-2 level firm.
you are coping, the vast majority of americans supported trump. And yes NLU grads are similar but once they get into a job reality hits them.
NLU students are very delulu. Be it the right or the left, both don't have touch with the reality. One side shouts freebies freebies, the other side shouts woke woke. Both sound stupid to me.
Bhai tu delulu mein hai. Projects is not for everyone. The shit is too complex and tu faltu ki gyaan pelna band kar.
Hi, as stated since your CV has mostly litigation internships and you aspire for corporate law. This will be difficult. Get some internship in the corporate law segment in any Tier 1/2/3 law firm and set you foot. Learn first! You can then migrate to T1 for associate role.
oxford handbook is wonderful as an introduction, if a bit theoretical and US-centric. very skimmable. not practice oriented though.
It's the only Data Privacy and Tech team that KCo has.. Supratim (SLS-P alumnus)
Meanwhile DU Tut Groups: Send me attendance on WhatsApp please, will not come
Having spent 9 years in this profession, I can say with certainty that this is how it will be. Either adapt to it or explore other options. Work Life Balance seems to be this fashionable term which younger folks are using but it doesn’t exist in our profession.
There has to be enough data first for privacy concerns to arise in failing city such as Kolkata.
Beta. Abhi toh aaye ho tum sab interns office mai. Abhi se PPO ki tension. Work your best and prove your ability, they will hire you. They only hire outstanding interns, so you need to outshine others.
Almost all NLUs are certainly recruiting people with only LLM and NET every year. So are other public universities. When it comes to private universities, BITS, Jindal, Mahindra, Benett, Munjal, all recruit such people. If you're part of the academia then you would know.
I have already have increased my efforts but why can't I also vent here? Are these things mutually exclusive?
Complexity in projects and energy ?! Is it very complex to extract company details and do compliance work nowadays
If you or your family knows people with a lot of influence out in the world, be it political, financial or social, switch to litigation. If not, stick to being a transactional lawyer.
I distinctly remember them actually publishing the shortlists on their website for the classes of 2022-23 and 2023-24. Is that not the case this time?
Working for a T1, with the kind of money you make, your life is better than 99.9% of all the people in this profession. Quit whining and get back to work. No ones interested in your pity party
While I agree with the substance of your message, isn't the claim that "no teacher" has such biases rather a bold one to make?
Why don't you produce a sample of this allegedly wonderful written work so that people can form independent opinions instead of being bombarded with these Dudley Dursley-style tantrums?
How much weightage does it carry in the overall grade for most courses? Also, where in the rules does it say it isn't anonymous?
My good arse, ain't nobody gonna pay you no shit if they don't know that you can actually put in that kind of effort. So stop wasting your time if you are genuinely an NLSIU student. If you aren't, cope and cry harder.
Please Help! I am a final year non-nlu student and I have secured an Internship at MZM legal at their Mumbai office. Is it advisable to intern at the firm in my final sem and what are the chances of me getting a PPO and if i get a PPO what would be the payscale?
leave and let someone who deserves it take the seat.

Jk. Imposter syndrome is common. It happens to a lot of us. Try keeping your thoughts at bay and keep working.
Kya delulu me jee rahe ho bhai. Practical and Theory ka farak 2 internships me nahi samajta.
Exit the back gate in the evening. Go towards the metro station. Go onwards for a couple hundred metres. Take a right into the Bharat Vihar market. You'll find all kinds of fruits there.
never seen a boutique firm with associates that are this condescending lol. Hard pass. Corporate team is bad.
Can a T1 partner of today buy it? Sure.

But the way real estate prices are rising (without a proportionate rise in salaries / increments) I will say the next batch of partners one decade down the line won't be able to.
Yes. And youre paying to attend college. Would be a pity to not make the most of it no? At least when you slack off at work its not your own money youre wasting.
Hi, does anyone know anything about the team, growth prospects and salary at Ediplis Counsels, Bengaluru? I can't seem to find much information online.
what kind of bias? bias based on caste? sex? sexuality? ethnicity? language? region? say more?
no idea about pay grade but possibly between 40-60k pm. good growth opportunities but hiring is difficult since the team is small. they recently hired a few associates.
Its a highly ranked firm. Almost every T1 NLU grad aspires to work there at some point or another.
How are the programmes in TISS for masters and PhD ? Mumbai, Guwahati or Hyderabad? Does it matter !?

Hi friends, I'm searching for legal jobs. I'm pursuing LLM in Business Law ( final year).

Anyone know about any legal job of any law firm or connected to law firm or any corporate legal job please kindly guide & update about it. Thanks πŸ™πŸ»
Just curious, you are in which firm, team and what is ur package?
As if universities are still recruiting with only net and LLM. People here appearing with PhD degrees and work experience are getting rejected for an already limited seats.
How is the litigation work and pay at Agama for PQE 0-3 years. Do other teams pay more?
Why are you on here then, if you are indeed making the effort? Why not redouble those efforts?
Then it is probably that small army of students from other universities who want to try putting NLS down.
He won fair and square, we must acknowledge that. Impact on India remains to be seen.
Done hiring from law schools for the 25 batch. No fresher vacancy I understand
Hello

As title says, curious as to whether starting your law journey in house and then doing an MBA and following that track thereon is a legit plan?

I don’t care about not being a lawyer post MBA, if it does work out.

Grateful.
LI had an MPL and a Campus Recruitment Ranking. It's all gone now. A combination of reasons: Kian leaving LI and Gen Y readers of LI not being much interested in merit-based rankings, seeing them as "markers of privilege". πŸ™„
Mukul Baveja. Hands down the best partner amongst the lot. Extremely kind, exceptionally brilliant.
Joining TL ggn as lateral partner (just made) very soon. Look forward to meeting this counsel ;)
I've gotten an internship at King Stubb and Kasiva as well as IC Universal Legal, both in the Chennai office. Where do you think i should intern, where do I have a better chance of receiving a PPO?
Saturdays are not working. Pays are at par with Tier 1 with relatively decent wlb. Try reaching out to their new HR Head and you will get a quick revert if there is a vacancy.
It doesn’t even happen at Jindal, students expect it but people - professors are people- aren’t build to provide mentorship for fees.
I am in a top 3 NLU. A decent batch rank. But I constantly feel as if I am an imposter. I don't belong and I am not smart enough to be here. I am also terrified of graduating without a job.

What should I do?
Can someone please tell whether IC Universal is hiring for the Mumbai Office at Andheri for the 2025 batch.
All good information here has been left useless behind blobs,, what is the use of such moderation that the idea behind asking the question itself is lost….
The internal component is not anonymized. A lot of us put in the requisite 'effort'. Maybe stop making generalizations. The pet students have a good relationship because syncopancy works and people generally like to have an army of yes men and women.
This is bad advice. So long as you wish to do so from India, you can easily clear NET after your LLM, join an NLU or a good private university as an Assistant Professor, gain some teaching experience and then apply for a part time or paid full time PhD abroad.
Sure dude that's exactly what they do - provide details to chat gpt in order to formulate a career question in a simplified manner to make it easy for someone to read and answer in a mocking way to satisfy their urge to become a PHD scholar in trolling.
nluj has one call back from disputes only. no corp call back or ppo (20226) from kco
someone who interned in one of the corp teams was explicitly told this
no but they considered us third years. even our certificates say third year
Bhubaneswar would be a better choice than Ahmedabad at least. Delhi would be the best though.
Understand the desperation when LI Mods take 4 business days to post comments.
They treat not just interns, but also associates and others who are not seen as financially well to do in the same manner. You are of no good to them unless you come by car everyday / if you do not order from starbucks, churrolto, concu, 45th avenue, etc.
Hi, I wanted to know that after what particular time they provide cab service to interns?
Idk what socialism India ever followed, even pre 1991. Indian economy was better classified as a dirigist economy. People who call it socialist have no idea what socialism even means.
Haven’t heard the most positives about them. How terrible are they really? In terms of toxicity, pay, etc.
I gave the test on Saturday, I haven't received any mail or calls from the HR. Should I ask them for an update?
Nah bro. NUALS Kochi should be up there. The campus is beautiful and is in the middle of an area that screams Kerala backwaters.
Sorry to hear that. Does the pay justify working through the toxicity?
Depends really, if you want to get rid of law definitely do it if you think you will get better wlb and pay I don’t think so.
this person has no clue of judicial service, like at all, its almost embarrassing...and also judges post selfies and go on vacations and attend family functions and weddings...all that and more. they just dont have public accounts for everyone to see.
Could someone explain the rationale behind the rule that prohibits lawyers to solicit work?
asking on the wrong platform, i doubt any person from the himachal pradesh district judiciary is on this website. try to find through knowns.
