avg 2nd year NLS student crying about lack of time on LI instead of using their time to study
Way to go Sudhir old boy, way to go!!! Show 'em what you can do and don't give a flying fuck about these ones who will forever believe that passing CLAT was the greatest achievement of their lives.
thats extremely silly. Where does that entitlement come from? it doesnt work that way in any university in the world. You always have to make an extra effort to get someone to want to invest their time in you.
You are absolutely right! I wish I knew. I think these people expect NLS to be like Jindal.
It doesn’t even happen at Jindal, students expect it but people - professors are people- aren’t build to provide mentorship for fees.
Then it is probably that small army of students from other universities who want to try putting NLS down.
The internal component is not anonymized. A lot of us put in the requisite 'effort'. Maybe stop making generalizations. The pet students have a good relationship because syncopancy works and people generally like to have an army of yes men and women.
Why are you on here then, if you are indeed making the effort? Why not redouble those efforts?
I have already have increased my efforts but why can't I also vent here? Are these things mutually exclusive?
You people waste your time so much on here that after a point, for your own good, it has to become mutually exclusive.
Exactly, but I do it (i) only when threads relating to NLSIU/Sudhir come up; and (ii) only to call out bullshit, not to engage in the propagation of it. The latter is, on the superficial level, a much more enjoyable task, because it is like getting high.
So you are high when you write your comments. Nice to get that confirmed.
Apologies. Should have written "former" instead of "latter".
How much weightage does it carry in the overall grade for most courses? Also, where in the rules does it say it isn't anonymous?
I am sure you're not wrong, but at NLS, most professors are not stupid. They don't care for or fall for cheap tricks like sycophancy, especially not the newer and better profs. Put in effort, and to at least some extent, it'll be rewarded.
what kind of bias? bias based on caste? sex? sexuality? ethnicity? language? region? say more?
While I agree with the substance of your message, isn't the claim that "no teacher" has such biases rather a bold one to make?
If the world class law school has admitted thugs and will make them graduate too, then it isn't world class.
Only one flaw in your assumptions, most NLSIU students aren't in favour of the existing scene,
Why don't you produce a sample of this allegedly wonderful written work so that people can form independent opinions instead of being bombarded with these Dudley Dursley-style tantrums?
As highly ranked as any peer reviewed journal that the VC himself has published in then.
Alright, which journal is it then!? Surely, you have more balls than this? Afraid to put your own name to your criticisms? Disgraceful, shocking level of entitlement.
If the VC isn't displaying any entitlement by not publishing in any good journal but still expecting so much from the students, then nobody else is either.
You spoke of journal pedigree as if that mattered in the context. I gave you an example of the VC himself not believing in such drivel. Clearly, that hurt you.
If you "don't have time", why are you on here all the time?
Couldn't have put it better myself. NLSIU has an exciting future as he goes from strength to strength in his second term as VC. A shame, really, that he has only a little under five more years left.
Except for NUJS. Students from that place usually know nothing.
To every person saying that we are winey, try living at NLS for a week. Spend 30 hours in classes, 4 in tutorials, 12+ in nego/moot preps with exams never more that 2 weeks away.
is the moot mandatory or are you expecting course work to be lighter to allow you to do it?
That isn't has difficult as you think it is. How many hours on average do you think you will be asked to work if you were to get even the most basic law firm job?
You get paid to make such an effort in a law firm.
Yes. And youre paying to attend college. Would be a pity to not make the most of it no? At least when you slack off at work its not your own money youre wasting.
Who says that the most of college comes from the tutorial system? Sudhir himself didn't have tutorials in his own student days, he turned out rather okay despite that.
Oh my god, NLSIU should be renamed "National Disingenuous School of India University".
Yes! As does Cambridge, UCL, LSE, King's, Queen Mary... and most of the other good UK unis. Unis in Australia, NZ etc. also have them. No idea what the fuss is all about.
Sigh. Are you really that thick? What I was asking was why you dont view the tutorials as an opportunity to make most out of your university experience.
My good arse, ain't nobody gonna pay you no shit if they don't know that you can actually put in that kind of effort. So stop wasting your time if you are genuinely an NLSIU student. If you aren't, cope and cry harder.
So attending tutorials is supposed to make me into a better professional? Lol, no.
That depends on the tutorials. Calling something a lion doesn't make it a lion.
I thought your problem was that you had tutorials at all. Are you now claiming that the NLSIU tutorials are not really tutorials based on your extensive expertise and experience of tutorials? Please explain.
You are also expected to answer questions you are asked in such environments, and to avoid hemming and hawing. Answer the above question: is the moot mandatory or are you expecting course work to be lighter to allow you to do it?
Meanwhile DU Tut Groups: Send me attendance on WhatsApp please, will not come
This is a topic of interest to the legal community in India. Why are there still so many comments blocked in the pipeline?
Have I got news for you? Ain't nobody gonna give you LOR for Rhodes!!
