This is an especially impressive feat as he is from the 2007 batch and around 40 years of age. He has been designated before anyone from the 2005 and 2006 batches. He has also been designated alongside two much senior alumni from NLSIU who are around 10 years older (Phiroze Edulji and Vipul Kundalia).

The pay is peanuts and it is basically a bpo
So glad to see that conversations like these are finally getting mainstaged.
Example: Wikipedia's article on Aurangzeb underplays his bigotry and quotes Audrey Truschke, an obscure academic outside of Twitter. Britannica's article on Aurangzeb is written by Percival Spear, eminent professor of history at Cambridge and a very respected historian. And Spear says:
"In general, Aurangzeb ruled as a militant orthodox Sunni Muslim; he put through increasingly puritanical ordinances that were vigorously enforced by muแธฅtasibs, or censors of morals. The Muslim confession of faith, for instance, was removed from all coins lest it be defiled by unbelievers, and courtiers were forbidden to salute in the Hindu fashion. In addition, Hindu idols, temples, and shrines were often destroyed."
but sometimes I get scared that I am not doing good enough in comparison to my batch mates and others who are in T1 and T2, earning 1/2 lakhs more than me, that maybe I am a failure and incompetent and all.
Please guide and provide thoda motivation guys.
Thanks.
Does anyone have an idea of how much the salary range would be? Is it worth it to join?
I have a callback offer from Wadia Ghandy and an internship at CAM lined up.
Government does stuff =/= socialism.
Not attacking anyone, just mentioning how different the understanding of socialism is from what actual socialism entails.
It's clear they don't really care about it, and the preamble just reflects the values of the constitution. Socialism and Secularism are definitely values enshrined in the constitution, adding the words or removing them makes no difference.
As for reality, well India has been really been a socialist country in any meaningful way. Digirism is what describes India's economy best pretty 1991, not socialist. Neither India has been completely secular (impossible to even be secular considering how deeply religious this country is).
Sanghis like to pretend Indira Gandhi did a big coupe or something but it's really not that deep.
People who say India become socialist or secular just cause of the preamble maybe should redo law school. Literally first year stuff lol.
LW trolls are at least try to be articulate.. RW are pragya thakur level
Kudos to Lalit Modi for standing up to the powers that be during his reign, and creating such a successful franchise.
Listening to Lalit Modi (cringe as it was coz of his confused accent) was an eye-opening experience. IPL fans lets discuss this. There are two sides to a story and boy! - was this interview was long overdue!
A must-watch!
Jaguar literally stopped production because of poor demand.
Not to mention the people foaming in the mouth are broke asses who wouldn't be able to buy it in the first place.
โข Complexity: Project Finance
โข Work life balance: B&F
โข Scope: Shifting from B&F is more easier against Project
And sadly, we all cannot have that anymore.
I am sorry for our loss.
Honest question : Why do you feel the need to talk about your personal life at your workplace ? How would it make life better for you ?
Are other people in your workplace talking about their personal lives ? Are they asking you intrusive questions ? If so I would tell them to be more professional and mind their own business.
Love who you want - just donโt make it into some annoying identity everyone else has to celebrate / validate.
It is worthwhile to read humanists and social scientists curiously and rigorously- but many courses offered as such do not meet that standard.
I was interested in public law and society and theory courses myself when I was in college. While some of those courses made me a much better lawyer and thinker and person, many should never have been offered. Especially vanity courses by pseudo academics who really only want to talk about their lives and build a fanclub in classes instead of seriously engaging with difficult material.
I also think this is true for many courses offered in private law. You do not need an entire four credit course to study one chapter of the companies act. Thatโs just a scam course.
Law and economics courses also do a very poor job of actually imparting skills- you can pass through most law and ec without a basic understanding of differences between debt and deficit and gdp and per capita income, or really even understanding public policy decisions that try to manipulate supply or demand. and certainly without knowing anything about actually โdoingโ economics. I would actually wager most law students wouldnโt know how to read a scatter plot, evaluate p values or samples. Statistical illiteracy means you really wonโt be able to make sense of most law and economics research and will just take any study at face value.
The truncated 5 year programme makes it very hard to learn any BA courses properly - including economics.
Your problem isnโt really that there are too easy courses in certain areas. Your problem is that there is a serious lack of rigor across the board in Indian academia.
Thatโs part of the constitutional schema. It is supposed to be changed as and when there is consensus to change it.
What do you think basic structure is ? Do you think itโs a good thing for unelected judges to decide for elected representatives what they may and may not legislate upon ? The only way for the BSD to survive ( given it was invented whole cloth by the judiciary) is for them to be very very cautious about stopping the legislators from enacting the will of the people , even for constitutional amendments. Those are the rules of the game.

:D
Joint property ownership and income redistribution may be contentious aspects which aren't part of our framework. Nonetheless, be it out of a rare goodness or vote bank politics, socialism is societally ingrained and co-exists with capitalism. Not taking any sides, just clarifying something.
This interview should be seen by as many women possible. Eye opening.

NKC isn't nervous about NAAC. He doesn't want bad press etc during the visit, which can be weaponised during the EC meeting in December. He is certainly getting an extension although he would preferred the age cap to go. Next best thing - get enough time and opportunity from EC to instal a plaint/friendly successor and get re-appointed as a Chair Prof and grace the EC. Also conduct another round of recruitment and construction deals in the interim.
SJA needn't always protest. But why does it even exist?
This is a platform for UG students, who can hardly think beyond placements and engage in endless mud-slinging debates. They'll even discuss brands of cars, watches and clothes lawyers should wear.
Genuine help needed - Thanks!
We don't pay our PhD scholars even a living wage, making academia an unappealing career choice for talented 22- or 23-year-olds. As a result, those who enter PhD programs often do so for reasons other than genuine interest in researchโlike meeting promotion requirements or not finding any other job โrather than a passion for the job. These individuals then go on to become teachers, perpetuating the cycle of mediocrity.
Even for those who excel at teaching, the system offers little reward. Good teaching is undervalued and has no tangible impact on career progression. Instead, promotions hinge on research output, measured purely in quantitative terms, which often incentivise at it's best derivative, low-effort work.
Let me illustrate with just one basic issue: a typical faculty member at a typical law school teaches around 10 hours a week. Assuming at least two hours of preparation time per lecture, thatโs 30 hours gone. Sundry administrative tasks will consume another 10 hours, already taking the total to 40 hours. Even if we optimistically expect faculty to work 60 hours a week, that leaves just 20 hours for research. And in this 20 hours a person has to produce something, so that her/his career progresses in someway. In such circumstances, what would you expect an average human being to do?
If you can afford Jindal, why not? better education for sure. However, Jindal college life sucks, while Pune offers the best student life.
Remember, anyone can do good and end up really well no matter what the institution is if they know how to make the best of their resources. Just be in your batch's top 5%.
Norm here may be taken to mean the general procedure of internship-assessment-interview-ppo and so on.
Need not be stories of bypassing process or stories with a negative tinge in general... Rather, what worked for you (or maybe someone else).
Indicative examples: pushing for a direct interview without internship and getting through... or maybe one internship and then interview etc etc.
Below 35k it would be extremely difficult to survive on your own and you will have to take some money from your parents.

2) Without any E-Database/Remote Access?
3) Only with 6 Law Faculties?
4) Without knowing any whereabouts of 2022 and 2023 LL.M. Batches? (Why IIULER even in their website did not mention anything regarding them?)
5) Please provide some statement to show how can you be "proud" in being IIULER Goa
With the bonus component of 4-5 lakhs, a decent A3/A4 can make anywhere between 28-34 lakhs which is as good as any T1 firm. However, this is for solid banking, corporate, cap marks team. I am aware it can be much lower for other teams.
