Iβm currently a law student (2026 batch) from a Tier 3 law college and just like the rest of us, I dream of interning and converting it to a working opportunity at a SAM/CAM/Trilegal or one of the tier 1s or Tier 1A's.
However, Our institution lacks a robust alumni network as they are not in the right positions or places. The placement committee has not been successful in securing opportunities even at Tier 3 firms let alone these.
Personally, I believe that I have an 'alright' CV with good work experience.
I have worked on a plethora of legal matters ranging from hardcore civil litigation to ODI/FDI.
I have a tier 2 and a boutique law firm experience amongst chamber law experiences.
So far, I have emailed directly to partners at certain tier 2's seeking internships. In my mail, along with my CV, I would also attach a sample of my previous work. So far, only 1 of the partners have replied and with the rest of them have ghosted me which makes me anxious about the future.
So, how do I apply to tier 1's through the traditional HR route? How do I make them consider my application? Any advice would be greatly beneficial.
Thanks!
Iβm currently a law student at a Tier 3 law college and like most of us, I wish to intern and one day, hopefully work at Tier 1 firms such as SAM, CAM, Trilegal, JSA etc...
However, coming from a tier 3 college, we lack a robust alumni network who are in top positions or places. Our placement committee just exists and has not succeeded in securing opportunities even at Tier 2 firms.
Personally, I believe that I have worked hard and have an 'alright' CV. I have been able to work across a plethora of legal matters ranging from hardcore civil litigaion to FDI/ODI and LRS.
I have experience in a tier 2 and a botique law chamber amongst other chambers.
If CLAT 24 had done its job like what it did in prior years 20-23, bo29 of nlud would have been at nls bo29. Amd most of the current crop in Nls bo29 would have been at tier2s and 3s

Can I get NLU Jodhpur??
in the Emirate of Dubai Article 1
The maximum annual rent increase in Dubai is determined by the RERA Rental Increase Calculator, which is based on the Dubai rental index. Landlords can increase rent only if the current rental amount is below the average market rate, and the permissible increase is as follows:
No Increase: If the current rent is up to 10% below the market rate.
5% Increase: If the current rent is 11% to 20% below the market rate.
10% Increase: If the current rent is 21% to 30% below the market rate.
15% Increase: If the current rent is 31% to 40% below the market rate.
20% Increase: If the current rent is more than 40% below the market rate.
This regulation applies to residential and commercial properties and ensures fairness between tenants and landlords. Itβs always advisable to check the latest updates on the RERA Rental Index or consult with a legal expert for specific cases.
However, in all above mentioned four cases, landlord must notify tenant at least ninety (90) days prior to expiry date of tenancy contract.
Let's just do the honourable mentions:
- The KCO guy is not a partner or a lawyer.
- The 3x figure literally got pulled out of thin air. Luxury properties do not work like that. Kolkata, contrary to popular opinion, still has a crap ton of millionaires and billionaires. Many times luxury properties in all three cities: Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata address the same pool of people, who own not one of these properties but multiple in these cities. Which is why your 3x figure was way off.
- Similarly, your property appreciation calculation is also quite wrong. 5.6 to 6 cr. is an inaccurate estimate, (a) because this is an unfinished property, and (b) because an appreciation of an average of 6% would put it at 7.5 cr.
- Then, who in the world thinks the Trump brand is prestigious? Even in the US no 'who's who' lives in any Trump property.

The teaching pedagogy depends from professor to professor, some faculties really live up to the NLU hype like Renjith Thomas and Sayantani Bagchi, who encourage critical thinking, self exploration and research.

If you are in a purely TMT advisory practice (and not a PE/VC/M&A/corp advisory practice that supports tech businesses) your work hours significantly lesser than a PE/VC/Corp lawyer. You are more of a subject matter expert than a generalist.

Why do clients meet you in your house? Doesnβt Khaitan Kolkata office have a conference room? Genuine question as I donβt know how small the office is.
How do you guys are able to, as most of us are yet not out of closet!

Men commit suicide because men largely commit violence against each other and are more successful in committing violence against themselves. It is not incumbent upon women to throw away hard-won safeguarding on the presumption that men would feel better about their lives if they did so. Men must make their lives better instead of foisting the blame for their well-being on women. Especially when women do not engage in large-scale violence or harassment of men at all to any degree. Stop blaming women for men's problems!

Some more info: took clat 23 with 3 months of prep, got into a tier 2 NLU, didn't take it. wrote clat 2024, didn't get any nlu. Took clat 25 and here I am.
Also is 20 too old to start law school (i passed out from 12th in 2022)
Help me out y'all
And when is it that women are most susceptible to violence ? When theyβre old or too young or when theyβre pregnant. What a noble sex class men are to pick on the weak! Please tell me which sex class commits 98% of sexual crimes ? Oh right - men.
Iβm sure there is a case somewhere where some woman lied about experiencing violence. All people lie. But itβs pretty disgusting to claim thereβs a male genocide going on when itβs the female sex class thatβs been hounded and hurt and killed routinely and consistently through history. Theyβre subject to foeticide and infanticide as babies and their corpses are violated after theyβre dead. FOH with this bullshit.
Law happens in courts and not in colleges.
you are my senior at jmi, I am of the batch of 2029!
right now, I am leaning towards DU, mainly because I already live in delhi and am drawn to its legacy along with some personal reasons. I am also considering a career in litigation, especially after discussing it with my parents. as a to be first-gen lawyer, i'm still a little confsued, but I am willing to improve my speaking skills and would be open to pursuing CA alongside my law degree if the circumstances and my mental capacity allow. I canβt really picture myself in an office job, so thatβs not something iβm interested in. I also am slightly inclined to pursue higher studies.
the small network of people i know in the courts might not be as helpful outside of delhi, so iβm seeking advice from people who are already involved in the field.
Dear trolls, stray away, for it is genuine advice I seek today
GNLU zindabad, long live its legacy so grand,
While NLS counts its nobel prizes, I just want a decent plan
NLUJ got a permanent mess system this year. 4 meals a day - works about the same as any other mess in any other NLU.
Also, I'd say faculty of both the institutes is at par. None offers a significant advantage or disadvantage in that area.
I'm going to be BALLB Hons. from a tier 3 NLU and after, LLM in ADR (preferably a foreign uni). But my main dilemma is, that for now should I get admitted into the tier 3 NLU or go into private colleges- just for BA LLB. Will the status of tier 3 have any negative impact in the future when I'm going to pursue LLM?
Rest, NALSAR is getting many new faculties including Anup Surendranath from NLUD.
Project 39A is shifting to NALSAR and the placement record is 100%.
Nalsar over nlud anyday!
- About 50% of a good law firm's recruitment pool (e.g., Linklaters) is comprised of those who read for a non-law degree as their undergrad, and then went for the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL), before doing a training contract.
- Recognising the market for this, many good UK universities offer a so-called "senior status" LLB for those with non-law degrees who also want an academic (if accelerated) law degree.
2. Gandhi, Nehru, ambedkar, Jinnah, C.R Das, specifically: These are unhelpful examples to bring up. You know that they were educated in England, with them, it's an entirely different story!
Like why should i bother going out with her when i have to pay .-.
(In both the firms, only discussion about pay is pending).
"I will get all the white-glove services. I am a professional; people who come to meet me are from high-class society."
The article says he paid a mere $ 700,000 (5.6 cr approx) for his apartment in 2019. Letβs assume that to be 6 cr now. And since Mumbai and NCR are more expensive than Kolkata, letβs multiply by 3. So that means you could get a Trump Tower flat in NCR or Mumbai for 18 cr. In fact, I googled and saw that 99 acres and Magic Bricks have a much lower range: 10-20 cr for a pad in Trump Tower Mumbai. Just 10 cr for the cheapest one!!! π€©π€©π€©
These amounts are much less than the 100 cr one would pay for DLF Camellias or some of the luxury apartments in Mumbai. And they are easily affordable for T1 law firm partners, many of whom are already buying apartments for 15 cr which donβt have a prestigious brand name like Trump.
So could Trump Tower then be the right fit for law firm-ites? Frankly, itβs baffling why Trump is charging so less, because itβs a prestigious international brand unlike DLF.
