I'm considering doing an MBA to switch careers but am unsure about realistic post-MBA options for law graduates. Though math has always been hard for me, I'm not keen on finance roles as the work-life balance seems worse than corporate law. Consulting is an option, but people I've met have told me that the workload is more or less the same, but with the positive that the weekends are generally off. And also honestly it seems like the only role where I can make my work experience with various markets count.
I know sticking with law is probably the safest option, but I feel like the anxiety and stress will remain the same even if i become partner. Further the area of law I work in doesn't even have much inhouse options to switch (all such inhouse roles are in large MNCs who usually hire teams like ours). On the other hand, options like consulting does present further exit opportunities as well.
I'm curious about other MBA paths that offer better WLB and decent pay. What are realistic career paths post-MBA for someone with a legal background? Any advice from those who've made similar transitions?

Most corporates still don't pay in-house well, but you would be surprised how many ex Mckinsey/BCG folks you will see at big C positions and how much they are making.
In law as you become more senior the possible options you can switch to will always remain in single digits if not lower (You can switch from AZB to Trilegal to SAM, but may not go to CAM etc.), it gets even more tricky when you are partner etc. Pre SA it is very easy to switch Post SA it becomes very tricky.
An MBA is a lot more portable than law, and the ceiling is much higher than corp lawyers. While the power law operates and some partners will rake in a lot, but you can also do that if you join PE/IB .
