Get yourself a campus first and then talk. MNLU is a tier 3 college, better compare it with MNLU-A and MNLU-N. Leave HNLU/ NLUO out of your wannabe fantasies
Thus, need a reality check folks, I know as an A2 - A3, these are the hay days, where you put your head down and work your ass off. Thus, seniors, who are married, give me a reality check. A good call?
Marriage has its perks, I believe so (yeah don't want this to be a debate about pros and cons of marriage as an institution but rather about the how it will affect my work or my perceptions).
"I don't want to be that guy." A lot of people presume a lot of things in this industry about you for eg. if you are married, there will be certain obligations and you may not be able to devote yourself to your work so let's not rely on him as much.
My second reaction: Are we that primitive a country that the only thing we have to export is cheap labour? Canβt we push for imports of Indian manufactured goods in the UK? Donβt we make any world class goods? π’

If they should, no.
Yeah I know this comment is as relevant as your situation.
Yeah, men can't file sexual harassment complaints against any gender. The law doesn't even recognize that men can be subject of sexual harassment. Men are always viewed as the offender and the woman as the victim.
Given a chance, who would want to stay in the regressive, academically diluted, forgotten, and financially distressed UG-focussed state NLUs whose footprint cannot extend beyond their respective states? NLUs are a career dead-end.
Please name a few laws where a woman can be convicted of sexual offenses on an adult.
How did you get to the reason behind men committing suicide?
Yes, women don't engage in large-scale violence but they do engage in silent violence which is not recognized by the law. They engage in mental violence.
The fact that you want to shame women away from initiating complaints actually points to your biases and the world you want to build.
My previous senior made a recommendation at Kochhar and still, they did not reply back to my E-Mail.
What is 'right' people?
If you paid attention in Uni, you will be able to
recall the concepts with one reading. Or else, start all over again. Study the subject again. Depending on its importance.
Donβt tag the Partner. Youβll be spamming them.
All the best.
One of the associates did not stop calling me for random things even in the middle of the night. It was creepy and unprofessional. His gyaan was not needed.
Iβm glad it got over.
1. Placements seem similar.
2. NLS seems more hectic because of the Trimester, but not really that much of an issue for me.
3. Delhi has locational advantage but the aqi is crazy (genuine question: do they let you install an air purifier inside the hostel room?)
4. I think NLS has more international exposure from reading both their website info. Not sure though, feel free to correct me.
5. Don't know about dating life, but not like I'll ever date someone from college. (surely)
6. NLS has better faculty apparently.
7. NLUD might have less competition due to the smaller batch sizes and the professors can give more individual attention. But is it enough to offset the faculty edge NLS has though?
8. Apparently harder to get a hostel allotted in NLUD if you're from the NCR. (I live outside though)
9. Only other factor that comes to mind is hostel infra, which I don't have much info on. (I know you're not supposed to make college choices based on how good the hostels look but since the other differences seem so close, might as well add this factor too. Your environment affects your mental and productivity in the long run after all.)
Tell me if I missed anything, I would like to make an informed decision.
Regards, zeraora44.
never choose symbiosis if you have RGNUL and NLUO as options.
Drugs are everywhere, alcohol is everywhere, u can't escape the culture u can only choose not to participate, don't believe this blame game going on in the comments above.

And yes, they do have a lot of work for interns
1) Owing to high pollution and population congestion I plan on leaving Delhi and practicing in Delhi might not make that a possible avenue.
2) Ive heard that competition in Delhi HC is really bad so Its relatively easier to make a mark in the Punjab HC
I have little to no contacts in both the places, being a first generation lawyer, I will have to start from scratch at either of them.
Any help in deciding which one to go for would be great!
I also got cnlu but due to financial reason i could not join but joined CUSB and their id difference but it is reducing.
I first heard of Taylor Swift only because a lot of people forwarded some clip of her singing with Bryan Adams at some show. There. See?
Left/ Right wing dispositions will be learnt and unlearnt and then your ideology can be well informed - so long as you can rationally defend what you're saying and not be an ass about it, things should be fine.
Being from North India does not matter - there are students from everywhere. One of the biggest internal fests of the university is literally called "Awadh Magadh".
Also some of the statements on "weak men" etc lends credence that some people really need to unlearn a lot more about patriarchy and maybe pipe down on performative feminism.
One wonders what happened to being "strong and independent". Did that just fall away quickly and conveniently? Are men not supposed to speak but just provide? Is that it?
All this from lawyers. Meanwhile lawyers are the ones living off marital strife. Most people know bad faith advise by lawyer are part of the problem but clearly more to unpack beneath.
Absolute bonkers.
This wasnt performative at all.
NFSU gets βΉ2254 crores in funding, gets ~50 acres of land in each of its campuses, and advertises to hire 270 permanent faculty (40 Professors, 80 Associate Professors, and 150+ Assistant Professors) in one go.
See the trend.
Here's the actual picture.
Clerkage is charged at the time of filing. The payment is made directly to the clerk. It includes everything from mere tying of the matter, to removal of objections. Getting pages typed, if illegible/ handwritten. Getting papers from the department- this includes HAVING to take 'care' of the department peons. Imagine if your stay is running out, matter is due to be listed, but suddenly your papers are not traceable. The clerkage will look like a small amount on closer inspection.
Matters are dismissed for non-removal. If some persons are finding it obnoxious to pay clerkage fees, just consider the restoration expenses. This is a whole fresh application for which your Advocate, whether the same person, or a new one, will charge you afresh. Also yes, again pay clerkage. No clerk is going to work for free.
A good number of filing clerks themselves work WITH (important word, 'with', not FOR) numerous Advocates.
Clerkage fees are NOT junior's fees. These are charges paid to a separate individual who is needed to do almost everything possible to ensure your matter reaches the court, for listing, at least.
Apparently the GIFT city gives an advantage to GNLU and it is bound to grow in coming years for sure
NLUJ on the other hand it's own perks (moots and other competitions along with single rooms are definitely a perk apart from the huge campus) but have heard it is just too hectic and in past some years have not been so good and idk where the new VC is going to take it , but the it definitely has another slight difference being in Jodhpur as Kolkata and Gandhinagar are huge cities and the mess system is also costly
Regarding NUJS (considering it is in top 3) a good alumni base but not so sure about other things but have heard the hostels are going to be a headache especially for girls
so can you people please offer some guidance , I have a decent rank that can ensure me admission into any of them so I have to keep the NLU on 3 in my preference which I want
Connect with the right people.
Reach out to the right people.
CAM and SAM both need top 10 kids.
Maybe fix your CGPA is possible. Or else, try your luck at SAM. CAM for sure wonβt hire (have heard this from the HR, seen kids getting rejected to).
Tranfer to SLSP- check if that's possible. Although I don't think it is
If you can afford to, I'd suggest NLUJ through NRI. I am not sure about the fees, it's probably about 35L, but is definitely cheaper than NUJS and GNLU NRI. It does make sense to go there, since your chances of getting placed are higher. You already are in a law school and know a bit of law, so you'd start to get decent grades from the beginning, where most students mess up. Your rank stays good, you get placed, you earn well. The chances of these happening in NLUJ are much higher than any of the other options.
NLUO is still fine. But Shimla, Prayagraj and all are an absolute no. Waste of both your time and money. Better to stay at SLSN and word hard and intern continuously than to go to one of these and waste a year of yours and end up where you already are
Think of your finances and make the choice. Again, if money isn't a big deal NUJS it'd be. And I don't see the confusion about Jindal. If you can afford to pay that much, should NUJS NRI be an obvious choice?
Capital markets is here to stay, winter can come n go.
I have graduated from University more than half a decade back so I would advise taking my opinion with a more than a pinch of salt, as I canβt be specific as youβd like me to be.
In all honesty, placements should not be an issue in either of the Universities - unless you absolutely squander your days, failing subjects and not meeting attendance requirements or have just horrible bad luck. The former is in your control, the latter is not, but neither affect choosing between the two universities. Also, my pointers below are not in isolation, they are compared to other NLUs.
My experience comes from friends across law school, some work on University policies and suggestions which required me and some college mates to look at what was happening at other Unis, circa 2018-2019.
NALSAR is less of a pressure cooker compared to NLS due to the semester / trimester system (at least when I was at Uni). Admin is very good compared to other Universities but do not expect βworld classβ and generally, reasonable with students. The academic structure used to be exceptionally good, Iβve had some time at other βGlobalβ and foreign universities, but the setup was very clear and student-friendly. It was significantly better during the Faizan-Dhanda time, but Iβve heard standards have taken a drop but a lot of the older staff are still there, and they are not rude with students unless you push their buttons. Faculty was good, but could be better - but compared to other NLUs, it is much better. Only perhaps NLUD and Jindal are better than NALSAR, which was also there during my time.
But what NLS really has going for it - and I always felt that was the case is that the alumni is simply uncatchable in terms of quality. NALSAR has some truly exceptional alumni, people who I look up to on a daily basis but compared to NLS, other Universities pale in comparison. But this only marginally more useful significantly deeper into your career, not at the start perhaps.
You should be happy in both Unis, and no need to be obsessed with placements. Itβs not in your hands as much as you think. You can be rank 1 but the market might be horrible and you might have interned in the wrong places (unbeknownst to you). Nor you, nor I, nor the various managing partners of law firms can comment on what the market will be like 5 years down the line but both Universities will put you in a good starting position.
Make friends, go out, find a lover, learn some stuff in class and also on your own time, enjoy yourself, watch TV shows, read books, invest in your fitness, do some fun extra curricular activities without thinking what effect it will have in your CV. College is a great time and donβt waste it thinking about jobs before you even start! All the best for your future!
If one does their first t1 internship in feb are they already behind the curve?
