The grand final vote for Rs 95,000: Crown India’s best blawger, the most socially just and the single best blog post

Legally-India-law-blogs
Legally-India-law-blogs

The final leg is here to decide on who can rightfully wear the crown of India’s best legal blogger. You will also decide on who has written the single best blog post of the lot, as well as the special prize for the best blogging tackling issues of social and legal importance. These categories are the big ones, with almost Rs 1 lakh of prizes remaining to be divvied up.

In previous weeks john2010 and nandiireywal picked up the prizes for best student and best qualified lawyer blogger, followed by nandiireywal winning the funniest post category, LegalPoet with a clean sweep of the most useful post and folly_nariman with the best written post.

Now on to the final round.

Special jury prize for social justice blogging: 2 x Rs 10,000

Sponsored by a kind and charitable lawyer who wishes to remain anonymous, the two most thought-provoking posts tackling issues of social and legal importance win Rs 10,000 each. Please note that winning posts will have to be of exceptional quality and must contain rigorous argument.

Update 11 November: socialmath was added, slightly late, although missed deadline but said wanted to participate.

Favourite overall post: Rs 10,000

A subjective category: pick your favourite single blog post in the entire competition. This is the one post that you want to read over and over again, that makes you happy, sad or thoughtful. Or simply your favourite, whatever that means.

The selection was taken from all previous rounds’ popular votes’ and judges’ first choices, as well as the first and second overall ranks in each category. The principle is that if a post did not top in one of the categories it probably would not win the overall favourite post. In addition, we have included a small number of posts which were not featured in other categories yet or which the bloggers have said they wanted to put forward (all posts new to the competition are denoted with an asterisk at the bottom of the list)

The best legal blogger, demonstrating overall blogging excellence: Rs 65,000 in total)

  • First prize: Rs 30,000 cash award
  • Second prize: Rs 20,000
  • Third prize: Rs 10,000
  • Highly commended prize: Rs 5,000

Bloggers with more than 10 posts to their name were selected for this round. All of them have been consistent and committed to the blogging endeavour in the competition.

One good test here should be: Which of these excellent writers would you have religiously followed on an independent blog over the last six months?

Click on their names to see all the blogs they have written in the past six months (the number in brackets denotes the total blogs to date, please do feel free consider blogs written after 30 July in making your decision).
