The vice-chairman of the Punjab and Haryana state bar council has been arrested for attempted murder on Friday, according to reports.
Om Prakash Sharma is accused of having been involved in a “firing incident” in 2006 on the Faridabad court premises, surrounding the allotment of a canteen tender, reported the Times of India.
According to the Hindustan Times, four cases were registered against Sharma between 2000 and 2006, and that he was produced before court on Saturday amidst “unprecedented security arrangements”.
