Delhi chief justice NV Ramana elevated to Supreme Court

Delhi high court chief justice NV Ramana was elevated to the Supreme Court on Saturday and will assume office from Thursday, reported the New Indian Express.

Ramana served as chief at the Andhra Pradesh high court from 10 March to 20 May last year, and was elevated as Delhi HC’s chief on 20 September. He enrolled as an advocate in February 1983 and began his judicial career on 27 June 2000 as an Andhra HC judge.

Other than practicing in high court, Ramana has also had experience of central and state administrative tribunals and has been the advocate general of Andhra Pradesh.
