Kolkata-headquartered firm Aquilaw, which had opened its third national office in Mumbai last year, has promoted two associate partners to its partnership, one to associate partner and has also announced its associate promotions, according to its press release.

Aquilaw has opened two offices in Mumbai today after absorbing JKB Legal and adding its managing attorney Jay Bhatia as partner in the firm.

Former Aquilaw associate partner Alok Shankar has joined Advaita Legal as managing associate as the firm promoted principal Shailendra Singh to partner. Both are a part of Advaita’s Infrastructure and projects practice.

Kolkata start-up Aquilaw has partnered with Supreme Court advocate on record (AOR) Vikas Mehta and advocate Vikram Mehta, for a presence in Delhi.

Khaitan & Co Kolkata associate partner Sucharita Basu and principal associates Sanjay Basu and Anshumala Bansal left the firm on 19 September, to start up Aquilaw.
