CAM hires AZB funds partner Vivaik Sharma (NLU-J ‘09)

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has hired AZB & Partners partner Vivaik Sharma as a funds partner in Mumbai.

The 2009 NLU Jodhpur graduate had been at AZB & Partners since April 2018 and was promoted to partner in 2019. He had joined AZB from Khaitan & Co (see full biog below).

CAM managing partner Cyril Shroff commented in a press release: “His skills and acumen will be a positive addition to our Funds practice.”

Head of CAM’s investment funds and advisory practice, Shagoofa Rashid Khan, added: “His experience and aptitude will further enhance our execution framework as we continue to expand our outreach across the funds industry.”

Sharma added in the press release: “The Firm is a trusted advisor to top-notch clients and I look forward to becoming a part of it.”

According to the press release, Sharma has:

represented reputed fund houses on structuring and setting up pooled investment vehicles including venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, infrastructure funds, PIPE funds, fund of funds, pre-IPO funds, etc. He has advised fund managers in structuring, formation and operation of bespoke investment structures and with investor disputes.

AZB Mumbai managing partner Zia Mody commented: “We wish Vivaik all the very best.”
