AZB & Partners has made a massive promotion round of 15 to its partnership, with effect from today.

This is a larger single round that previous AZB promotions, in-part because the Mumbai-region and Delhi partnerships have jointly announced their promotions this time.

Six out of the 15 new partners - 40% - are women, of whom three are based in the Mumbai-management region of the firm that includes Pune.

The largest number of new partners - three - are graduates from Symbiosis Law School Pune, with two partners each coming from NLU Jodhpur, NUJS Kolkata and GNLU Gandhinagar.

These promotions push AZB & Partners above the symbolic 100 partner barrier, with a total of 106 partners and over 430 fee-earners. 39 of its partners are women.

Mumbai

In Mumbai, the firm has promoted five of its lawyers to partner:

  • Atreya Bhattacharya (NLU Jodhpur, 2008, dual qualified in India and England & Wales)
  • Shivani Kabra (Warwick University, 2007, dual qualified India & England)
  • Medha Marathe (NUJS Kolkata, 2011)
  • Dhirajkumar Totala (litigation; Dayanand Law College, 2006; LLM University of Pune 2008)
  • Vivaik Sharma (funds; NLU Jodhpur, 2009)

Delhi

  • Ambarish Mohanty (NUJS Kolkata 2006; Northwestern University, Chicago, LLM, 2012)
  • Ashish Pareek (Nalsar Hyderabad 2010)
  • Ankit Tandon (ILS Pune 2010)

One was promoted to partner in Pune:
