CAM Delhi SAM tech law hire Asim Abbas to leave (4th Delhi exit in 3 months)

Asim Abbas to depart from CAM
Asim Abbas to depart from CAM

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) Delhi partner Asim Abbas, who had been hired from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) in 2016, is to leave the firm, as first reported by Bar & Bench.

At the time of publication, we are not aware of where he is heading.

Abbas focuses on technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), and had joined SAM in 2015, after five years at Khaitan & Co.

Before his stint at Khaitan, he had set up and managed boutique start-up law firm Legal Spectrums for two years, after having been in-house at Bharti Airtel.

He is a 1990 Delhi University graduate.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas managing partner Cyril Shroff confirmed his departure and said he wished him well.

We have reached out to him for comment.

CAM Delhi partner Manishi Pathak has also resigned earlier this month, following Harsh Kumar moving to SAM, and November’s joint resignations of partners Kirat Singh Nagra and Rishi Anand.

It is understood that more Delhi exits at CAM are forthcoming.
