DMD (Dutt Menon) promotes Tushar Jarwal, vows to consolidate pan-India presence

Delhi and Mumbai firm DMD Advocates, which was formerly known as Dutt Menon Dunmorrsett, has promoted principal associate Tushar Jarwal to partnership on 28 August in the tax group of the firm.

Jarwal has over 10 years’ experience in direct and indirect taxes. With his promotion the firm has increased the number of partners to seven.

It now has a headcount of 60 professionals and is looking to strengthen its “pan-India” presence on the advisory side.

In the past five years the firm has promoted four, including Jarwal, from four of their core areas: litigation and arbitration, corporate, taxation (direct and indirect) and intellectual property.

Speaking on the promotion, Delhi managing partner Anuradha Dutt told Legally India that DMD has hired eight new fee-earners in past year, including principal associate Harish Kumar from erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas.

She said that DMD planned to “consolidate the offices of Delhi and Mumbai” before planning for expansion in more cities.
