CLAT's out and it seems like I'll be going to NLU Jodhpur. I wanted to know more about the general perception of it, where it stands academically, and also general information about it's student life.
Also, what's the student body like? General atmosphere and community? Ragging?
Very ▮▮▮. Obedient students. No ragging. No dope. No booze. Only major NLU with no history of student protests. Stronger social conservative influence than other NLUs. Very good sports scene. Music scene is Hindi-dominated.
strongly disagree with this, am a third-year at NLUJ. There have been multiple protests against the high-handedness of the admin. Some teachers are good. Definitely not conservative in any sense of the term. Music scene is diverse - from English to Tamil. Ragging is there - probably about 5/10 people from each batch actively "rag" people. Booze chahiye toh mil jayega.
do you have more information about what the ragging is like? is it playful and harmless or is it an emphasis on degradation first, then building up a bond from thereon?
Too much emphasis on Academics, with a hectic semester and exam schedule.
Non-existent student body, a constitution for the same has been drafted but elections haven't taken place yet.
Most of the Law Professors are good at what they teach.
Choose BBA LLB if possible, BA Faculty is not so good and don't mark so well in the exams. (Will fu** up your batch rank)
Very good single person hostels, one can install ACs as well.
Big campus with good connectivity (Auto, Local Bus and College Bus) and most of the facilities are already present inside the campus, Swiggy and Zomato deliver to the college along with other e-commerce and delivery apps.
Only a few people indulge in Ragging (or what they would like to call positive interaction) you can steer clear of them if you want, such type of interaction ends after the freshers party.
Rest in terms of standing among NLUs better than NLIU and a tad bit better than GNLU due to its small batch size of 120, no Domicile quota and excellent placements.
Genuinely asking, why is the domicile quota a factor to show good or bad, unless it is as high as NLIU or HNLU (50%)? From what I understand the a person getting 500 rank may not be that different in intelligence or in terms of interest of law than a person getting 1500 rank in a 2 hour paper. I
How can someone choose BBA LLB or BA LLB? Is it on the basis of CLAT rank? If yes, what rank does BBA LLB end by? And what is the approximate disparity in marking between the two degrees?
No Rank requirements, You can take whichever one you prefer, take BBA if possible, marks disparity is such that majority of the top 10 rank holders are from BBA in our batch.
Also, what's the student body like? General atmosphere and community? Ragging?
Thanks a ton
