I am a final year LL.B. student at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. I have interned in law firms and offices of Advocate on Record in New Delhi in disputes/litigation team. I am looking forward to securing long-term internships in law firms and later pre-placement offers.
Please suggest to me a few firms/senior advocates which hire fresh law graduates and pay decent in disputes resolution team especially arbitration.
Jindal takes random people with foreign LL.M.s and no teaching experience as faculty, lol. Spoiler alert: it is 50x difficult to get a foreign PhD than a foreign LL.M.
Trilegal! Lelo ⏱️ Trilegal! ⏱️
Makes you want to stab yourself in the eye, but you have money to foot the hospital bills.
Help me guys i'm just fed up.
You can't ruin your life based on a breakup.
Imagine in 5 years how you will have moved on and realised that this is just a blip.
Get working on yourself and get out of there with a job in hand. There are plenty of more fish in the sea.
(P.S. Work life is essential, but not a strict 8 hours thing. I understand transactions as a practice area is a tough mistress)
The best way to go about this is through your college network, especially people you know personally who will give you an honest and non-suger coated version of the truth.
Also OP, please try out boutique law firms, they will be hiring rn.
The only issue it seems is that the top management is way too greedy to let money out to the young talent. With the headcount so less, they should increase their pay so that people don't leave them
Cam, L&L, Saraf act like beggars when it comes to spending money
(Mod, please mark this as trollish)
Truly NLS level placement statistics, except for the fact that twice as many people say for placements at NLUJ, but who cares. Please don’t call out the RICC xoxo
It is what it is
Hoping it gets better when our generation become partners
leave office at 8:30 get home by 10
10 to 10:20 dinner
10:20 to 12: Play overwatch 2 with friends / workout alternate days
Not that AIBE requires any major preparation per se.
1) 20-22 people got jobs (Not offers)
2) Half of the people who did not get a job never cared about corp jobs; Had interned in Courts and research institutes and then joined RCC at the last moment to sit for placements.
3) Many people from this batch had got PPO interviews but failed
Heard it from a senior from my college who recently joined the Delhi M&A practice.
Goes to show that the market is to blame, not the rcc
Usually around 20-25 people get jobs on Day Z at NLS. The reason for so many unemployed students after Day Z is because of a less number of PPOs. Just 12-13 people got PPOs. In other batches, the number usually crosses 22. 2ndly, more number of students have applied for placements this year. Otherwise, the hiring trend is the same.
The RCC should have called more firms other than calling the T1 firms only!
Quite satisfied with my decision. NALSAR is an excellent place, the lower batch size is an added benifit. NLS for certain is going to face the brunt, this is what happens when you give free reigns to a dictitorial VC.
2. You will get an easy entry in any good tier 1 firm if you have their tag. A red carpet entry in any tier 1 firm specially if you happen to have their funds team tag. Check out in the market.
3. Guys particularly in the funds and sebi regulatory field are topping all the ranking charts. Firm hosted a grand law firm tournament in MCA BKC last year which was a superhit and the one which every cricket enthusiast in other law firms is waiting to happen again this year. not to forget their foreign offsites which i loved the most more than anything. So pretty decent overall branding for a new team.
I work with a London law firm now with a handsome GBP pay 😁 but can vouch for everything stated above having experienced some of it first hand myself and also knowing the recent developments from the friends and fraternity in mumbai. Advice you to double check all the above with janta working out there to get better comfort. All the best
If you want intellectual stimulation, people connect, some sembalance of your existence and contribution to the work product then you have an answer in disputes.
I was with Transactions (and maybe it is a me issue) and it made me brain dead. I almost never knew why was I doing what was I doing. Maybe it was a team problem too but you’ll never know the background ever until you are much senior. You’ll just be told the transaction structure that’s about it. Law firms have precedents for everything especially he transactions team. The even cut copy paste the emails they have already sent on the issue- so you’ll have little space to show your creativity. Another thing I noticed was that transactions team hated reading the law.
But maybe it can interest you if you have genuine interest in the market.
Any leads about the working hours? Work culture of the team? How is the practice area? Is it worth switching from corporate team of a tier 2 firm in Mumbai to Delhi and worth relocating to Delhi? Will I be able to switch from Private client practice area to general corporate and M&A later as the aforementioned partner is also having deals pertaining to M&A and Capital Markets?
Working hours? Recruiters say the pay at Phoenix Legal is 12 lpa. Is it worth it? Quality of work and the team working style? Any insights would be really helpful.
Yet, the respect that Jindal gets doesn't match up to the respect Ashoka gets. Why is it so? Is it because the chancellor of Jindal is Naveen Jindal and not an academic? Is it because Jindal is not as left-wing as Ashoka is? Or is it just that NLU students and alumni like to troll Jindal?
Is it a paid journal? How is ▮▮▮ permitted such publications?

I think many more people should check if the articles are plagiarised as all seem to be on similar theme from the same college:
1. https://sifisheriessciences.com/journal/index.php/journal/article/view/1375
2. https://sifisheriessciences.com/journal/index.php/journal/article/view/1377

Even if not -can someone tell me how are Law Professors publishing in "Fishery Sciences" ?
But also- if you say some people dont have a right to free speech because of historical actions of authoritative regimes- youre quite authoritarian too and you dont really understand the value of free speech.
1. Employment - Possibly the best team. Very understanding partners, structured teams, great quality work. No complaints. They have had negligible attrition in the last few years because of how well functioning the team is. 2. GC under Reeba is also good - most partners are good and reasonable to work under. Try asking about each partner before applying. Great work. You won't have a bad time for sure. Not many PAs might be a put off and create problems for sure. Some politics between associates is also something to be mindful about.
3. TMT/capital markets/public M&A - great work but insanely high expectations. Long hours. Some demanding partners might spoil the experience. Take this if you have a particular interest in the field.
4. Disputes - a couple of odd nuts make this an avoidable team. They can be heard screaming at their juniors from another wing of the office. They're extremely moody and toxic. Take this only if you have a keen interest in disputes and can deal with some of the most frustrating seniors. Partners are fine though. Might not learn much but you'll survive.
5. Banking and finance/Real estate - just avoid it. Don't even think about it and run far away from both teams.
They aren't just offering the best pay, but also perks like lunch and snacks in the office. 2 offsites per year and other goodies as per my friends there. These might seem like small things but for someone living in an new city, a lunch in the office is truly a great perk! Trilegal looking forward to vacancies there!
All firms have overhired from the 2023 batch but business didn't grow as much post-pandemic. This is the effect of that. Doesn't seem to be because of any fault of NLS or its students

Does anyone know?
any opinion will be of great help to me as a first-year student of law. :)
Can anyone throw light on the pay and work culture of the Disputes Team at ELP
I started repreparing for the exam again and the exam is in 4 months but mentally I am feeling screwed, lack of interest in doing things and unsatisfied with my life in general.
So throughout my high school I made acads my full focus with a bit of sports and never tried dating at all(under the notion that my career and grades will get affected),and now I feel that was a terrible decision as I am not gonna be anyone's first love, no one's priority and the only love I will ever receive is going to be in the form of how much I can provide and not for what I am as a person.
Like I used to have a lot of interests but most of them just faded away during COVID Era and now I have no interest in regaining them for some reason. I just feel behind my peer group in everything and never going to catch them up,it just feels that maybe I should have born 20 years early than my actual birth year.
Also Whosesoever I trust betrays me after a few months(and this is not for just situationships but also friendships) which has left a sour taste in me and to not trust anyone although I want to.
Sometimes I just want to lay my head on my mom's lap and just cry and talk about what I am going through just like I used to when I was a child and find solace, but I can't do that anymore(she was the only woman who loved me truly and unconditionally and I am disappointing her)
So I would be actually be very grateful to the people here to give me some advices on what I shall do and get out of the mess of a situation I find myself in :)
PS:- this isn't just about relationships, even friends and all too, there is literally no one who understands and with whom I can share how I feel(I got some friends but none with whom I can share what I am truly going through and be unfiltered)
The PPOs at NLS have also been good, though a bit lower than what we had expected it to be.
TIA.
Indus is Tier 1. S&R is a boutique for cap. marks. TTA is a Solid Tier 2.
Can’t find alumni at any decent places while you have tons of people from a select few colleges. Don’t know where we end up losing
Also ignore the outside noises. Man up & all the best to you 🙌🏻
