We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Self discipline is a muscle. Bole toh daily 15 min bhi padhai bahut badi baat hai. It needs to be built extremely slowly. Routine banaoge, timetable likhoge, koi fayda nahi hai.
The day has to be successfully completed. Meaning either we overtarget and don't complete anything or we don't even start.
I will give you 1 suggestion. After 3pm (or whatever is your prime biological time, mine is from 6pm to 2am), do not use internet or mobile aimlessly and try to concentrate for 1 3hr session.
If you are alone or in a house, it is very difficult. Go to a workplace or a cafe to do it. As people are around you, and you cannot bullshit or daydream.
Start a timer. Study/write/upskill your choice. Now, every 10 mins you will feel fidgety, so go out roam, maybe sometimes play music too. But, stop the timer. Even if you are day dreaming stop the timer.
But, try to complete this 3hrs. That's it. It took me 7hrs to complete this 3hr timer. Matlab every 15mins, I paused, moved around, tried playing music (which I shouldn't do ideally).. Do it for 20+ days and you have built some muscle.
That is it. Every day 3hrs ka 1session. Jo extremely productive ho. Your 3hrs will be equal to people's 8hrs.
Once you get comfortable, you have final goal for life. 1 more 3hr session. That is it. Even top rankers actually productively study 6-7hrs. 18hrs is near exam time and mostly hawa baazi.
But,most importantly get out of your house and in a noisy environment, even with imperfections, implement it.
-AAP - give freebie, win election.
-INC - hold caste census, hold riots, get SC+ Muslim + Upper caste votes and win elections.
-BJP - get hindutva + nationalism + general caste + OBC votes in name of PM Modi and win elections.
-CPI and TMC - Do not allow anyone to contest against you. Maime, kill anyone who stands in front and win.
-DMK, AIADMK - give freebies + criticise North India, Hindi. Get OBC votes.
All parties in India win election on these identity markers only. I would give CPI(M) credit here, that they remain true to their ideology at all costs (do ask the CPI(M) how many OBC, SC,ST are there in their Politburo).
As far as your questions as a voter is concerned, for winning India, you need 37% of the polled votes. For प्रचंड bahumat, as in Rajiv Gandhi level, you need 48% votes. So, all wannabe Karan Thapars should ask - Does the ruling party (BJP or INC) really care for my question or want my vote?
Please suggest firms that specialise in taxation [direct or indirect] apart from the Tier 1 firms that are worth interning at. Thanks
Nikal lo pehle. Phir 1 month time milega. Campus jaake ya LinkedIn pe 3y LLB students ka dimag kharab kar lena. Kaun roka hai.
Also the objective of NLS is to give good legal education to the best of their ability which I suppose they are doing. Yes, the money and time commitment is there, but, let us not reduce all education to placement factories.
Specifically you want placement try for ISB Hyderabad. 1y me you are fit for McKinsey Associate job or a Microsoft Product Manager.
And no, you will not be left out if you are not from a rich family. There are all kinds of people here and you will find ppl for yourself.
Whats "right attitude" you are speaking about ?
Are you willing to talk on anonymous email ? I need guidance
Imagine the bench of Chandru, Sanju, Surya Bhai, Kholi, Belu Tirvedi, Vanarsimha, Bindal, Dattu, Bhatti, PK Pisra, SC Sarma, Hardiwala, amanulla, augustine, Metha... This bench will overrule every keshvanand, waman rao, coello or maneka gandhi... One or 2 of them will write some spicy dissent for the record but actually only 8 judges are needed to overrule Keshavanand & current SCI has more than 8 judges ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮...
so technically BJP can change everything from CoI successfully...
1. Nobody other than someone who is studying in a particular law school is aware of the pluses and minuses of the place, nor any clear knowledge about how its faculty are. Not even the specifics about the placement scene anymore, since most law schools don't release any official stats. At the most, they can have a general, vague idea. Therefore, people may talk about the good points of their own universities when someone asks for info. Not about how it is better than anyplace else, because they do not, simple. Most of the time, the posts are seeking info. So provide them with that, not random opinion. Talk about moots won, jobs secured, research project deets that are not readily available, hostel scenes, but keep it to your own uni for God's sake. You are not an expert on others, not even you have 'supposedly' heard about them from your friends. Let those friends talk about their own place, I am sure people from every university visits this forum occasionally.
2. These X NLU v. Y NLU posts are inane. Of course, some of them are written by CLAT aspirants genuinely trying to reach a decision. In that case, they need facts, not your conjecture. Quit turning these into a measuring contest.
3. Equally stupid are these X job v. Y job superiority posts. They serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever other than for trolls stroking themselves. If adult readers cannot understand that one cannot and should not compare a law firm job with a judiciary post, or an UPSC job with a management post, then they have got no business studying law or any professional discipline.
4. The trolls who keep egging readers to quit law and do MBA should just leave this place and frequent MBA forums instead. This is Legally India, not Managing India, last we all checked.
5. There is hardly any deal that is discussed here anymore, legal industry developments, issues about which law students can present a united front, basically, anything useful. Such a colossal waste of potential!
6. Even the political matters that are discussed are about chest thumping between Bhakts, Libs and Wokes and other -ism followers, rather than measured and intelligent discussion. Half of those are baits and propaganda anyway.
Mods and Admin, please either sequester the posts based on category even if you want to allow the drivel mentioned above, so that the few remaining readers who wish to use this forum to help people genuinely needing it can do so, or else just admit that this is just a troll infested dungheap now.
2023, December. 2021, April. So not in December every year. Therefore the concern expressed in the OP will not arise.
If they are doing something wrong and they are not in tune with people's aspirations, people will throw them out. If not, then they are doing things which help them connect with their core voters.
And finally, if you think the voters are wrong, I agree. The voters were wrong to give Lalu Yadav 15y unbridled power in Bihar, which literally made the word Bihari equivalent to illiterate crass person. The voters were wrong to vote our Vajpayee ji's govt. So, I agree, democracy is dumb.
But, let us not question the wisdom of voters and the brain of a India winning machine, only when the results are against you. Blind hate towards people less sophisticated than you will lead you nowhere.
Point is all options will be open after it. A lot of Doctors leave medical to get into Civil services. Ha, white coat pehn ke Doctor sahab koi nahi kahega.

You are not alone when it comes to choosing an unconventional path. You just need a hell lot of will power in order to swim against the tide. After careful soul searching, you can go ahead.
ANDthe guy (defending ctc) has calculated whole allowances that is why misunderstandings arised. CTC include whole expenditures i.e, salary + perks + allowances (both cash & non cash) and whatever the organisation spend on individual that's why SEBI CTC is around 19-20lpa if goes by that then IAS & civil judges ctc would be above than 30-35lpa.

You're just waiting for the next DJ Night to make your life happening again, aren't you?
Excellent place to learn public law and writ side work. The work is currently weak on the commercial side docket though. Associates are made to work hard to cope with the rigours of his chamber. Pay is average ~ 25K for a fresher
To give a basis for my answer, I am a corporate lawyer and my girlfriend is a doctor.
First, NEET is a thousand times more competitive and difficult to crack compared to CLAT. This preparation itself will take you nothing short of 2 years. Second, if you do manage to get a decent seat, MBBS is a thousand times more grilling than law. The 5.5 years (4.5 academics +1 year of mandatory internship) can be compared to life in a law firm in terms of working hours.
Third, after you manage to finish MBBS (and you'll be at least 30 by the time you finish), you've pretty much no standing without a PG degree. You'll earn pennies if you're just MBBS. You'll have to appear for NEET PG now and crack another extremely competitive exam. Even the 2-3 years of PG are very very intense. In fact, way worse than law firms for certain branches like Surgery, GM, etc.
So, accept the fact that it's too late for NEET and try to make the best of what you have.
Super frustrated dealing with the Consortium.
Good decision making is not emotional, it is Logical Analytical Reasonable.
I have seen that people who are most successful in life were very chill people. They maintain an attitude of indifference to what life throws at them. They have deep sense of inner calm. High Strung & Emotional folks often mess up their own lives.
Promotion - slow (hard to get in Grade D/E grade)
Work life - mixture feeling of Govt dept & corporate law firm
Satisfaction - if you're ok with salary & promotion than A1 job as you will leave in Mumbai
Wo pdf post revision ka hi hai jo ki har revision ke baad ek upload krti hai SEBI.

2. DJS Exam does not take place in December every year. Just because in 2023 it took place in December does not mean it will be so in 2024 also. Moreover, this is for prelims. In fact, there's no guarantee that the exam would be conducted in 2024 altogether. There have been several instances in the past where the exam has not been conducted for multiple years at a stretch. The last prelims exam (which was in 2021, if I recall correctly) was in April.
I am applying for jobs in the TMT teams of various law firms and need help with what all should I be prepared for, in terms of the law, or any other technical legal knowledge (background: I was rejected by everyone on my college's zero day and I'm pretty scared of interviews now). I'm assuming IPR or competition? Or are basics of contracts and company law also tested for TMT positions in law firms? I have only appeared for gen corp interviews so I have no clue :/
Not necessarily looking for HR questions but ANY and ALL help is much appreciated!!
However, if you're someone overweight or underweight, wanting to lost weight or gain muscle, it'll be much much harder, I'd say close to impossible because of how committed you'll have to be. To gain muscle you'll have to atleast hit the gym 4 days a week which is not in our hand due to abrupt hours.
Judicial Officers have peaceful life and doesn’t have to handle any political pressure unless they care about their post retirement benefits!
Also, how bankable is their name if i later on wish to make a lateral shift to tier 1 ?
You are in the final lap of your college life. Last moments hai. Gym jaa, bandi bana, travel kar, bakchodi kar, sports, high ho, get wasted, club ja, woh chize kar jo nhi kara ya apne bacho ko sunana chahega, ya you had some entrepreneurial plans or something you did not pursue for some reason, yehi mauka hai karle.
All the best.
