We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

The post was restricted to whether there should be equal opportunity to other NLUs as well by Govt owned company GAIL.
DYC is pretty clever and knows how to handle situation

Such a thread could be useful for NUJS or NALSAR or NLUD or other places where few people are great and many mediocre.
Such a thread not needed for NLS Bangalore.
It's just that Overton window has shifted slightly and people are no longer going to be satisfied for the bare minimum
(Electoral bonds = nda bad) next move (reactivation of kejriwal proceedings and arrest = opposition bad). next move. (Opposition rallying behing Kejriwal = nda bad). next move. ( Old kejriwal pals et al. Showing dissaproval of kejriwal = opposition bad). next move (Kejriwals 'party in person' drama and Sibals strong remarks in open court in allied matter{perception wise}+ his YouTube channel's uniform theme = nda bad). next move (600 lawyers write a letter, now backed by the PM against concerted efforts in "corruption" cases - doesn't take much to figure which information bit it's aimed at quelling). All eyes on the SC now. Really curious on thoughts on any of this. Super open to hearing a cogent debunking of the above theory too. Strawman and ad hominem elsewhere please.
P.S. this post is partly political and ideally not an LI post but the letter to the SC makes it necessary to post here for discussion

Happy people in corporate law aren't here and so are the high end lit earners. So estimate the kind of posts the platform will have sherlock.
This is an India problem, have seen clients, CFAs, government officers etc. do this in meetings. Idk how civic sense is so hard to understand here
Learn about lebanon and understand what population quota can do to a country and economy. Once it's done its dead end, we will have civil war undoubtedly.
By means no parasi /sindhi should have anything they are just in thousand.
By your logic dont divide quota on SC/ST/OBC.
Lets go population wise of each caste. These are made up categories. Lets talk about giving meena, madiga, jatav according to their population. Huh no ??
Ek.halke se sub categorization se tumhri phat jaati hai, chale population pe quota dene.
Coming to behavioural issues, im sorry to say there are some genuine psychos. I pray everyday that these people have a painful life ahead for all the suffering they cause to people who just wanted to earn a paycheck to pay the bills. They genuinely enjoy the meaningless game that law firm law (as opposed to real courtroom law) mostly is, because theyre one dimensional nerds who cant make it in the real world.
If its only the hours that scares you, dw and come aboard youll get used to it esp if youre in a nice healthily built team. If its the dehumanisation, STAY AWAY.
Joined another chamber in 2020 and got paid 35K which increased to 50K after 1 year. Quit that in 2022 and joined a senior who paid double of my earlier compensation. Did not have much independent work so felt a little disappointed as opportunities outside office were very limited. Stuck around at the seniors office who started trusting me more. He started giving some independent work at the end of 2023 and also increased my monthly remuneration to 1.5L. Some people who used to come to brief him also started giving me some independent drafting work which paid well so have been able to increase my monthly income to 3-5L. There is still uncertainty about arguing briefs and also about independent clients.
Hoping to go independent next year. Hopefully it will all work out. Hope it does for you too.
