We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Not a flex buddy, pipe down. They mass hired from JGLS, it is law equivalent of working at Burger Singh
I understand that you should know about what you're stepping into beforehand. Cool, but how does a kid who has not even entered the uni decide they want a firm job? You don't know law or even the type of work you can do.
I'd say third years at minimum is the time where one does have a skeletal idea of what they wanna do more specifically in law.
It's so baffling to discuss a job that you know nothing about. It's like me wanting opinions on how fun it is to be an engineer at Redbull F1.
I'm 100% sure most of those who replied are also kids in law schools at max. No way someone in a law firm would want to shell their own opinion of firms on a kid that has absolutely no idea. The best thing to do is to ask them to first do 2 semesters of law, then check out courts, intern in at least 3 different teams of firms and find out for yourself?
The tendency for law firm placement to become the sole criteria of choosing law has brought so many people that do not want to work here and are stuck and it's disheartening.
Importance of money: I get that law is expensive and expecting a good paying job is important. I came from a family that has tough times and called for a job. I took a firm job w/o thinking much because I needed money. As soon as I was comfortable, I left to join a chamber.
What I'm trying to say is that everything works out. You find your way, please focus on finding your toes landing on law first. Try and find something you like and money will come for sure.
Dispute resolution aside, there is no desk job that will be enjoyable, but it is for you to find out how much does money compensate you.
Partners celebrated internally are also bottom line of the market. There are many new boutiques if thatβs what you are looking for.
Serious advice needed.
Do third years now give insights on placement? Damn god.
General observation is the firm has always been a small shop with no major mover or shaker people joining them, most partners are no pedigree except for a recent year a year or so back.
Stay away if you can or use it for a few years like most people do to get some experience and better place later.
Possessed by Raja Babu.
Is that true? Does he pay 30% of his total fee to his juniors?

I think I may have a solution.
So even if the feedback is not personal, mentally you will want to talk to someone and get it out of your system.
I think you are trying to talk to friends (who are either working in law firms - so too busy) or youβre trying to talk to friends who havenβt done law firms and donβt know how bad it can get.
I would suggest - try to find someone who has past experience in working in a horrible firm, and now is probably in-house/ has some free time on their hand. The shared trauma will help you bond.
Our parents never needed therapists because they didnβt work in such high pressure jobs. We need it because we need people who can empathise with us.
All the best!
How do we get ID cards of being registered with State Bar roll of Madhya Pradesh. My friends from other states have it. I have still not received one from MP State Bar Council. Now I have cleared AIBE as well.
lawsikho is relevant because it takes good initiatives like these
if you disrupt something you will make some enemies you gotta do what you gotta do
what practices though?
But I have a soft spot for Nigam. He's very knowledgeable and extremely easy to listen to and he manages to give grace to eberyone and generally treat people as if he has affection for them. Love.
Their parents may be damn rich
We should stop glorifying UPSC because at the end we all know they just remain political pawns in service and also a judge is enough to show IAS/IPS his status so saying that UPSC is most powerful job is BS. Few UPSC passouts do corruption at large at behest of politicians. Remember the case of a lady IPS who is now in jail for some scam in Jharkhand during BJP and Soren Government ?
Its my personal opinion that if you want to get a job of diplomat through UPSC then truly you should attempt it.
You really can't take grades as a sole criterion when the batch had 1.5 year fully online in COVID. So, the tests were not solely representative of person's intelligence. Instead, the International Moots, Debates, and other extra-cirriculars need to be factored in 'as well'.
There are a lot of βthingsβ but it is just that I do not wish to wash the dirty lenin in public.
