1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Itβs a difficult path to decide to take.
How would I even know if they have vacancy or their office is not toxic?
Plus- even if you donβt end up getting H1B post a top US MBA, most likely your company would be willing to transfer you to Canada/UK/Europe/Middle East. Whereas, for JD, skills are not as transferable geographically.
Is this a revival of HNLU?
Partner can say no but then there is risk of client to engage another law firm for next assignment. Law firm loses business which impacts profitability and as a result less increment/bonus. Will junior associates be fine with that?
Other option is to hire 3 lawyers instead of 1 and divide the workload. This will also mean salary being 1/3rd of what currently the 1 lawyer earns. Again, will junior associates be fine with that?
By the time the SA/PA get a hang of things, everything is delayed and required on short notice
Brain fried, fucked life
How can Indus even make any silly remarks about them considering they just elevated them to equity & literally forced them to take it & not go
Assuming they are looking to acquire edtech companies in law, or legal tech companies, what would be top choices?
Do note that this was some time back. I was also lucky to be in a high billing team, I've heard people from other teams making much less so only move if it's a high billing team like M&A, B&F or Cap Marks
Is this normal what other interns spend ? Jut wanted to know.
- Definitely not cool to speak rudely with interns. If this was the US, then you would be sacked and sued for workplace bullying.
- Not cool to use emojis like π and π€‘ WhatsApp conversations. Not only are they obsolete, but they have been weaponised by the right in their toxic, patriarchal discourse to mock progressive viewpoints
- Definitely not cool to share right-wing memes and forwards on WhatsApp: not with interns, not with anyone
- Not cool to use gendered language in the workplace. If used unconsciously, please check yourself.
- Definitely not cool to make sexist, transphobic jokes in the workplace.
etc.
I wanted to know about D&D Indore.
How's the Indore office of D&D? What's the pay structure for Associates at different levels? What sort of work they do (Corporate, Financing, etc)?
Thank you
This is urgently needed after the RG Kar hospital incident in India as well.
As a lawyer she knows what she is doing and is an equity for the same reason (though that should NOT be just the criteria for becoming a senior partner). No amount of knowledge, experience and money is justified IMO for one to work with her team. People who have worked with her and mentored under her have similar temperaments.
If you are dead inside, you'll love the team. Not otherwise.

As language matter more than the issues congratulations you won
Hopefully there would be day you will be able to see this. To what I understand you must be someone from dispute team from law chambers. Not someone from t-1 working in PE VC, M&A or capital markets team. Otherwise you would have experience the same.

I know who you are, and the truth is you ain't good at what you do - so stop giving this gyan here.
It's sad that I can't write your name and your 'Kartoots' here.
You are a dalal/ dali.
Don't miss the brutal nature of the team though. But the money was very, very good in some months. I wonder if there will come a day other places will also do a similar bill share model.
They'll be dearly missed at Induslaw.. they were true leaders & ambassadors of the firm not just in their locations or practices but nationally across all offices & across all hierarchies.
His team is the most profitable team & everyone in the firm knows it. Low billers don't make it to equity dear.. especially not simultaneously at 2 firms :D
Go read other threads on LI about him & you will know the gem that he is & what he's built at Indus in 7 yrs with absolutely nil support. They've made rain in a desert.
They don't usually hire but may hire now.
1. Law school professors who taught a student (and occasionally a work supervisor, e.g., law firm partner, if they've worked a while after law school) write these types of letters.
2. The application portals of the universities ask for the nomination (by the student) of anywhere between zero (King's College London) to one (UCL, QMUL, e.g.) to three (Oxford and Cambridge) to up to five (Harvard) referees. The form asks for the official, institution-associated, email ID of the referee(s) (so only an @nls.ac.in kind of ID would be acceptable, not any random ID like gmail). Some universities (e.g., UCL) ask for referee phone numbers as well, for further verification. Yet others (LSE being a prominent example, which asks for a compulsory two references) ask why a particular referee has been nominated, with LSE specifically giving options on their form such as "availability", "institutional policy" etc (i.e., they think that some institutions, for certain reasons, may require certain professor(s) who taught a student something specific or who were in a specific position of responsibility for a student (e.g., academic advisor) to write a reference).
3. Once the student's application is submitted (or in some cases, once the student has inputted the reference details into a form), the referee gets an automated email from the concerned university's system, giving them a secure link to upload a recommendation letter to, and a deadline of when to upload it by. The student doesn't get this link. The universities usually ask also that the reference be written on institutional letterhead. Often, these systems have the option for a popup to show up at the student's end if the referee hasn't submitted within a certain time, for the student to either change the referee they are using, or re-input the referee details, so the request of a reference upload email with the secure link gets resent.
4. The above is done to ensure that (a) the referee isn't a fraud; and (b) the student has no idea what has been written.
I can assure you that like every other firm, at each level there can be a difference in payment. Like a top performing A1 is getting 23.5 whereas a low performing A1 is also getting 21.
Dunno much about other practices, but cap marks teams, some more than others, glorify overwork with motivating filing messages/posts, when you haven't even been able to sleep, bathe and function normally. Ofc they say take the day off, but the partner/senior with his next deal filing is already riling around you. All things seem to be working against the practice - it is overregulated, clients are pushy and completely unreasonable (but again they don't know how our partners run an understaffed ship so don't blame them completely), spineless partners pretending to have their shit in place and taking in more work than they can handle all the while their team has no management and structure, and next to nil PAs and SAs. And some of them can't even be bothered to read emails and delegate work properly. Maybe it's just my team though.
Why is LI moderating this thread so much and not letting comments get published - why so scared bro
Karo post
Were all telephones and toothpaste tubes of the world implanted with bombs and slow-acting poisons from then onwards?

My family has a loan. I don't like to share more details about me.
What's the payment scale I can expect as I grow up the ladder.
How much will I get paid at A1, A2, A3, SA1 & SA2 levels?
Please help me so I'd compute accordingly. If it isn't as per general standard, I might have to switch.
Competition teams never have vacancy.
Intern, intern and intern. You might get hired.
I know, it isn't fair, but overall corporate law is less of a rat race during clat prep and uni when compared to JEE or NEET, but much more of a rate race after graduation.
Elaboration: Someone in his/her 30s expects a certain kind of lifestyle, but regardless of whether you're 35 or 25 you'll be expected to start as A0, with 15LPA.
You can start by updating your resume till date and reaching out to independent recruiters on LinkedIn for potential opportunities.
How are they submitted?
Do student know from whom recommendation will be sought from? If yes, it will always speak nice things about the students only
