Abir and Satyadarshi moving to CMS Indus with some of the associates. Abirs book will move with him.
the freedom the students get at NUJS is the best thing in the uni, unlike in other unis the noojies wield power and live by its consequences and not sing kulgeet written by the relative of powers that be
Is it a good idea to quit and move in house about a year into your T1 comp law job? I’m sick of everything
In an amazing revelation it was revealed that SAM disputes partners regularly argue in court. For people who want to join litigation but not chambers is this the best option
Blatant lies. Have you seen the billing of CAM's tmt team
Then for the first time, we have an NLU VC who shares problems of attendance with the students. Is he required to maintain 70% too?
Can range from 10+2 to 18+4 for A0 to A4. Bonuses can be higher but will not be lower.
Agree that randomly mailing partners don’t work and especially RPs, if the RP is from JSA then definitely won’t work since all decisions are taken by the equity partner.
Also unlikely she would become a presidential candidate. And a president is merely a ceremonial head, no doubt all the perks and prestige. Unless one is someone like the 1st prez or apj abdul kalam, no one really would care about the prez.
How were the placements this year including PPO, Day Z and VAC schemes ?
It would be really hekpful if someone can share the reviews and details about the firm!
Start taking up volunteer based roles in a creative field you're interested in to expand your network and shift through that. Being a lawyer gives you several transferable skills beyond just the knowledge of law. Leverage that as much as you can
with the AGI and agentic llm the work and fees of normal lawyers and CAs will go to the ground. Only powerful and influential and connected policy level people will make moolah
Will be reduced giving the comments by CJI Kant on the issue. Same way the oral comment by the then 3-Judge Bench in reducing the 3 year criteria indicated the judgement outcome.
How did you land an internship there can you let me know what was the application process and did you get through a referral
Maybe but i bagged two tier 1 internships by cold mailing partners. Of course only two of the 20 worked.
Someone apparently actually wrote on WhatsApp campus WhatsApp group that JSD ▮▮▮... Utterly problematic statement that only deserves ▮▮▮ sections
We just like to smoke the good stuff and binge watch various series everyday , studies were over once we cleared CLAT..
You think opt out will mean they won't be using your data? Lol, please read up more about how the models work before you use them for confidential client data.
Not really. It pretty much sucks, like all the Indian legal AI wrappers so far.
Their placement is going great, way better than NLS and possibly the best among law schools.
The admin had decided not to revoke the invitation. JSD is now using this to play to the gallery. It wouldn't have mattered how the students had voted, the admin wouldn't have revoked the invitation. The Deans were clear in the matter.
Can we please stop this slander campaign against MG? Yes, her father is Mohan Guruswamy and perhaps her family’s connections have helped her in life, but in what universe is she a saffron sympathiser????
That was Sourav Chunder. If you’ve been following social media, he’s been mounting a massive PR campaign for the last few months and some handles started hyping him and declaring him as an RS candidate. People are now laughing about it on social media.
Nobody is dying to go to CAM/SAM TMT team lmao. Heck, SAM's "TMT Team" comes under its Gencorp practice.
To those who are confused, RP stands for Retained Partner. I'm ex-JSA, where RP is used instead of Salaried Partner like in every other firm.
Agreed. The admin should take disciplinary action. Why students have gotten so much power? Students aren't greater than institution. All invites must go by faculty or admin as is the case with multiple other colleges
Tourism? I have hopelessly thought of taking that up. But too afraid to take the plunge and don't know who to ask. The initial states froze me.
barrind the senior advocate bit. everything else that you have added as a descriptor does not fit. JSD is a ▮▮▮
It's a good luck charm to be uninvited by pro-TMC students! 😊 Jagdeep Dhankar was Governor when he was uninvited. Went on to become Vice President of India. J Sai Deepak is currently a Senior Advocate. Maybe he will become an ASG soon?
Shocking. NUJS invited Mohan Bhagwat, Owaisi, Arundhati Roy, Sambit Patra, Arnab Goswami and so on during our times...These students who cancelled the discourse must be identified and called out.
It doesnt have to fall under posh for you to object. Just tell them politely but firmly that you are not comfortable with such comments.
You suggesting 3L for funds practice shows you are not from this space. 3L funds has sky high attrition rates.

I will recommend KCO or IC Legal for this practice area. CAM, NDA (yes it still has some good folks) and BLC (which is ex-NDA) are also decent.
Let me tell you very honestly- most placements including in places like NLSIU are inflated. Plain and simple.
Does anyone know advocate Nishant Das? How is he?

Give some good suggestions of lawyers for a property dispute case in delhi
Overheard a smoke break conversation between some law firm partners during IPBA event. Seems like Trilegal is now the go to Firm for their abundant inbound work and smart lawyers over SCAM and Co. Any truth to this?
2L is too low for PA bonus. Even A0s got 3L as bonus last year.
Claude anyday Goldman already uses it for everything Compliance
Please guide me too. I'm in top 10 of my batch and at a T-1 uni. sitting without a job. Don't know what to do.
Any heads on his practice in Delhi? - juniors? how is he as a paymaster and mentor?
No time for life made me. PQE is 6. It’s been a learning curve on understanding the business but feel more involved than I ever did at the firm.
Headhunter approached but I had sent feelers to a few who kept saying nothing for my PQE when all of a sudden somebody reached out.
I've talked to people from nls and they seem much more passionate. Peers in nalsar don't seem interested in academics at all. Where's the academic rigor? This is really disappointing. They all are okay with a subpar VC and faculty? Whatever has happened to this institution?
not everything has to be posted on this platform to be made a mockery out of. It was an extremely unfortunate accident that could have happened to anybody. Let him rest in peace, and move on from doing all this.
True. Also, very few will know that RS was instrumental building a law firm (Pre-ELP) that created a base for many law firm partners including the Mumbai founders of 3legal
Depends on what they have promised/ been promised to/ by whom. Life for certain people who over promised and under delivered at certain places/ to certain people is now going to become a living hell.
I dont think any partners are relevant enough to be mentioned in the files, can't say the same about Senior advocates and judges tho
Leave law if you want to be creative, this field is demanding and the work is dry.
Why are you posting this on a four year old thread which has not got anything to do with the current Jessup? Until 2025, Jessup has been organised by Amity. If you have 'tea' on Jessup 2026 and Jindal, start a new thread.
very small team but consistent work, I've heard, they aren't giving PPOs after one internship though is what I've heard
I think i know where you are. Listen to you gut more than people around you. Trust you instinct.
FAFO

You took the risk now you are figuring out what happens when risk materialises.
Only four people along with their real estate guy, (who aren’t privileged) “work work” in the banking and finance team.

However, the privileged ones only pretend. No doubt the entire team runs away every 6months.
Avoid. Too much nepotism and corruption. You won't get in if you're not from Maharashtra or MNLU Mumbai itself.
Shishir's teams are great. Excellent matter quality and pay, alot to learn.
How many times did you fail CLAT, 10th boards and 12th boards that you landed in a TLC nobody's ever heard of which gives you time to write this nonsense on Legally India?
They're different products. Claude is a large language model (LLM - like GPT and Gemini). Harvey, Legora, Lucio etc. are GenAI products that use one or more LLMs to generate content, but is tailored for the legal industry.
Even in litigation, the only client they have is the Government of West Bengal and TMC.
Resolution Professional? Are students interning under Resolution Professionals these days?
Ncr- Mohit gogias, Akila Agarwal Avoid- Anchal Dhir, Anshu Choudhary, AM
My known in that program told me that some ppl got assessment opportunities and placement through the clg only and clg got some very good companies and law firms
Why is filing so hectic across the courts in Delhi and why does everyone see. So clueless on the format of drafting???
How to apply for internship? Is it fine to send email for internship on this email: contact@firstprincipleslaw.com?
Do they even take interns? Any information will help.
This is confirmed news! All the best Abir Lal Dey, Satyadarshi Kunal, Anoop Das and team. Hope the new place gives you more mental peace and comfort
Could you shed some light on what's the internship procedure at CAM?
How is Alpha legal law firm in jangpura? Work environment/salaries/exposure?
Thoughts on the new Claude update is it as good as Harvey or better?
what do you thing will be the fate of the 3 year mandatory practise rule for judiciary after todays hearing of review petition?
delhi ncr and noida are not the same, there are two separate offices for delhi and noida, like just visit the website once before spreading misinformation
What do you mean "another student from NALSAR" what's the pattern here? Some kinda systemic failure?
Why would you argue something without precedent? What if there is different interpretation in those precedents than what you are thinking of arguing? And you can only find that through research.
Practice Area?

PQE?

Why the shift? How much is the difference in remuneration and does the better work life balance compensate for the same?

Thanks :)
when i interned about 4 years ago, certain managing associate with the firm name as surname was quite rude to me on a daily basis, so not true on them being not rude to interns either
Don't think Ravi at his level would go and discuss this with the associates. But the partners (one in specific) and some senior resources keep alluding to this. Also at his age, doesn't sound very far fetched.
Which team to avoid has been redacted. But must the usual suspects from JSA banking
