We all are aware of human rights, right? It not only includes right to freedom of speech and expression, right to equality, etc. but in fact it also includes ‘Right to Marriage’. There is a saying ‘Marriages are made in heaven’, but inter caste or inter-religion marriage gets murdered on earth.

Has anyone ever thought that inter caste or inter religion marriage are the two base through which secularism can be promoted?

Even though nowadays these kind of marriages are becoming part of the society still some Indians have orthodox mindset who cannot even imagine inter caste marriages. Parents for their own respect, murder their child or disown them.

I want to ask them do they become happy murdering their child? Do they gain their respect? Friends, marriage is all about coming together of two souls, irrespective of social background and class. Is Death of the child, honor for the family?

In the case of Lata Singh v. State of UP, the Supreme Court held that there can be no bar on inter caste or inter religion marriages. So, anybody who harasses the couples will be prosecuted.

As a responsible citizen, we need to encourage human rights. The matter of choosing one’s life partner is a matter of one’s own choice. And if judiciary and legislation is in favor of those couples, we need to change the orthodox mentality of people.

‘Spread love everywhere you go, but first in your own house’.

Many marriages (I know personally) have turned 'murders' in heaven even though the couples just stood watching their parents help tying the knots.
