Examination System of DU

Posted by nidhi on in Student life

hello everybody,

though my hello sounds good, but am very upset at the moment… yesterday, L.L.B 1st term results of campus law center came out and it was utterly shocking! so many bright students who had immense knowledge about the subjects got mediocre marks compared to the students who just crammed dukkies by Dr. A.K Jain and secured wonderful marks.

In fact, i wrote my criminal law-1 exam so very good but got the least marks in it! I even discussed my paper with my lecturer and she was also shocked to the state of affairs existing in DU. Why is this system of checking so dependent on the luck of the students? Why do 2 0r 3 people out of 100 need to become the unfortunate victims?

I don’t understand where the problem lies. Shall i focus more on knowledge or cramming dukkies? This is very discouraging.

Do you have anything to say?

re-evaluate and challenge your exam paper marks in the High Court.

Yes Nidhi, something needs to be done for these crap teachers... file the RTI asking your scripts. above advise also seems correct. do something that has not been done ever in the chapters of the law faculty. Bye.

I think Your should re-check or re-evaluate Your answer sheet as per Universities guideline. But if You are not satisfied with the marks and if You are too sure that Your marks should be much more higher as per your answer pattern compared to the those who secured higher marks then You can file a writ petition before the High court against the University challenging their criteria of evaluation of marks. Remember, before resorting to writ petition You must be too confident of your answer.

1. You must write long and detailed answers and not short and precise one. Consider to increase your font size if you write too small.

2. Use caselaws from Case Materials in every subject. It is always advisable to write an answer making a leading case law as the base.

3. Ashok Jain's books are not bad. They are notes covering all imp. cases and points. You may add them to your Case Mat. and Text Books.

4. Again, Write more in the paper, writing precise and to the point i.e.small answers never appreciated by DU professors as per my experience.

thanks for the guidelines...
but, i did stick to them, in fact, i wrote at least 3 to 4 relevant precedents in each answer. moreover, my handwriting is also legible and good.
as far as long answers go, i have followed that point as well, writing not rubbish but all relevant points.

anyways, am confident enough that i will get marks once i apply for revaluation.

thanks again.

Evaluate what questions come in the previous years papers. Then prepare those questions, from the case materials and the bare acts. Reference all case laws. Write at least 8 pages per answer. And you will get good marks.

Hi @weezy1 :- thanks for the suggestions... But anyways, I am so happy to tell that there was an error by the university... They marked me absent in one paper even though I did appear for it. And when I got the final mark sheet... I was delighted to learn that I stood 2nd in the whole university!!! :-D
