With a 20 points from Stetson North, GGSIU stands at joint 11th position and UILS, with 23 points, moved to 9th position in the standings.
As semi-finalist with 5 points NLIU Bhopal reclaimed the top spot in the standings after temporarily being ousted from the top spot by Nalsar Hyderabadfollowing the NLIU Juris Corp Moot. The other semi-finalist RGNUL Patiala moved into 7th position, also scoring 5 points. Pratika Shankar of RGNUL won his college another 10 points with the best speaker award.
S Ravichandran, Advocate & Head, Academic Initiatives, Surana & Surana International Attorneys, confirmed the results and said that the event began with paying homage to the martyrs of 26/11 by the dignitaries and all the team members by lighting candles and observing silence.
Both GGSIU and UILS will now represent India in the Stetson International Finals to be held from 17 - 20 March 2011 at Maryland University School of Law, Maryland.
Apologies for the delayed update on this moot, we were seeking final confirmation of one law school’s standing after this competition.

I really, really hope international moot organisers recognise the complete incompetence of Surana with respect to judging, flagrant violations of international rules and just about everything else, and take away national rounds organisation from them. Currently, it's a complete disgrace. Campus Law Centre at Jessup last year, and Guru Gobind Singh at Stetson this year! Something is very seriously wrong if these are India's representatives at two of the biggest international moots.
The tragedy in national law schools is that...mostly the best mooters don't participate after a point in these big moots....as the top firms in india...don't value moot performances when it comes to placements...all that is taken into consideration while placements is the CGPA....for students from non- nationals moots are a big thing...coz it gives them a platform to perform....the best firms don't even go to these law schools for placements... so the only way out for them is a good performance is these moots to highlight their talent...and hope for an off campus placement...anywayz good going.... ipu n uils....n pls guys nobody is jealous....we know who we are n where we stand....moot is not the only parameter....to judge who stands where... student gnlu
I think your comments are baseless and ridiculous. While I agree there have been issued with Suranas' organization, I don't think you have any locus to say that there are issues because CLC and GGSIPU made it. I mean only the NLUs dont have good mooters. They're all spread out in all law schools. Stop crying over spilt milk.
i'm surprised that nobody pointed this out till now, but the total point of NUJS add up to 36 and not 28: 15+8 = 23 for Commonwealth (winner, best memo) 5+5+3 = 13 for B.R. Sawhney(best speaker, best memo, semi-finalist)
I understand NUJS and NLSIU fought out Oxford Monroe Price India finals yesterday. Please update the results. Also #11 has a point here, please look into it.
You NUJS people need to read your facts properly before making arguments. Just because you won the Oxford Moot does not mean you can show off on public forums.
Excluding the results of the Oxford Moot, NUJS has scored only 28 points and not 36 points: 1- Commonwealth INDIA Rounds Winners + Best Memo(This is a TIER 5 Moot) 10 + 5 = 15 2- B.R. Sawhney(best speaker, best memo, semi-finalist) 5+5+3 = 13
Now, 15 + 13 makes 28.
Noojies really need to read upon the moots and their respective tiers before commenting.
Shruti Hiremath, Vinayak Mehrotra, Ashish Alexander and Payoshi Roy of NUJS won the national round of the Oxford Media Law moot and qualified to participate in the international round to be held in Oxford. They also won the second best memorial and best speaker in finals.
@13 - i stand corrected. There was also a listing for Commonwealth under 'National Challenger' in Tier 4 ...but in any case, chill ! that sounded like a pissed off rebuttal ...i suggest u do it at the moot itself instead of here ...now thats whats going to win you some points!

New colleges that host these moots often invite judges with no experience at mooting or adjudication ...
Don't win and it's :
1. Who cares.
2. Organisers are incompetent.
3. Judges have no experience.
4. The best mooters don't take part.
Time to grow up guys and learn that in law as in life it's "Win some, lose some" and learn to take the rough with the smooth.

15+8 = 23 for Commonwealth (winner, best memo)
5+5+3 = 13 for B.R. Sawhney(best speaker, best memo, semi-finalist)
Kindly make the correction.
